Aren KRESKY – Impaired Driving

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired related offences in the Township of Perth East.   

On October 21, 2022, just before 12:00 a.m., Perth County OPP officers responded to a single Motor Vehicle collision on Road 112 in Perth East.

During the investigation, officers observed several empty beer cans in the vehicle. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons. The driver did not sustain any injuries.

As a result, Aren KRESKY, 22, of Stratford, has been arrested and charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Aaron ROSS – Theft

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A suspect has been charged after stealing from a local business in the Municipality of North Perth.

On October 21, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a business on Mitchell Road South, in Listowel, after a person was witnessed shoplifting.

Aaron ROSS, 27, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Ryanal ERB Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police investigated a break and enter at a Line 90, North Perth address.

On October 21, 2022, just before 2:00 p.m., a male attended the address and was observed outside the residence. The male was confronted and left the property. The property owners found an unlocked door that was ajar with items missing from the residence.  

The male suspect was observed approximately 1 kilometre from the residence. The male was placed under arrest.

As a result, Ryanal ERB, 40, of no fixed address was charged with:

–      Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Officers Threatened, Cruiser Damaged – WATSON Arrested

(WEST PERTH, ON) – One person has been charged after an incident that closed Napier Street, in the Municipality of West Perth overnight on Friday.

On October 28, 2022, just before 7:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to an address on Napier Street, Mitchell. During the incident, a person damaged a police cruiser, and uttered threats to kill the officers.

No injuries were reported, and the road was reopened around 4:30 a.m.

Kaleb WATSON, 31, of West Perth, has been charged with:

–       Uttering Threats – To Cause Death or Bodily Harm

–       Mischief Over $5000

–       Assault a Public Officer with a Weapon

–       Resist Peace Officer

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Another Drug Bust – WAGLER, GARDNER, RICHARDS, PAETZ & SCHRAEDER

(HURON EAST, ON) – A drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) has culminated this week in a seizure of Fentanyl and other controlled drugs & weapons.

On Thursday, October 27, 2022 members from the Huron-Perth OPP (CSCU), Huron County OPP Detachment, and West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed search warrants at two separate residences in Vanastra. 

As a result of the execution of the search warrants, police seized quantities of suspected Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, and Hydromorphone.  

The combined estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is $38,480.   

In addition to the seized controlled substances, police also seized offence related property consisting of a cell phone and $1,500 in Canadian currency. Police also seized a pellet rifle, pellet pistol, air soft pistol, ammunition, brass knuckles, various knives and throwing stars. 

Ronald WAGLER, 44 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Fentanyl
  • Possession of Hydromorphone

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Shelly GARDNER, 44 years of age from Huron East has been charged with: 

  • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purposes of Trafficking

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Adam RICHARDS, 46 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

  • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
  • Possession of Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order

The accused remains in custody. 

Derek PAETZ, 43 years of age of no fixed address has been charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Fentanyl
  • Possession of Hydromorphone

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Matthew SCHRAEDER, 37 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Fentanyl
  • Possession of Hydromorphone
  • Breach of Probation
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Another Meth Bust

(WEST PERTH, ON) – On October 20, 2022, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle for a burnt-out headlight on Line 34 Municipality of West Perth.

Upon speaking with a driver, the driver was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to a local operations centre.

As a result, Devon CUERDEN, 33, of Bluewater, has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Officer Found In Ditch

(BLUEWATER, ON) – On October 22, 2022 Huron OPP were contacted after a member of the public located Constable “Wes Coast” in the ditch along Ausable Line, South Huron. “Wes Coast” was returned safely to the Huron OPP detachment where he will soon be redeployed in a community near you!

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are seeking the public’s assistance in a recent theft investigation.

Constable “Wes Coast”, a decoy officer owned by the Coalition for Huron Injury Prevention (CHIP) was stolen sometime over the Labour Day weekend from the intersection of King Street and Albert Street in Hensall.

The life-size, two-dimensional aluminum cut-out of a police officer holding a speed enforcement device had been cable locked to a concrete light standard at the time of the theft. 

This creative tool had been utilized to help keep communities safer by reminding motorists to watch their speed in towns and villages throughout Huron County.

Any person with information regarding the current whereabouts of Constable “Wes Coast” is encouraged to contact Huron OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 482-1677.

$192,000 Drug Bust In Walkerton – Names Released

(WALKERTON, ON) – On October 20, 2022, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), South Bruce OPP, West Region OPP Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU) and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence along Amelia Street in Walkerton. 

As a result of the execution of the warrant, police seized a quantity of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Oxycodone, Lysergic Acid and Ecstasy. The estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $192,340.

Police also seized offence related property including Canadian currency, cell phones, tablets, scales, a handgun, a replica shotgun and 2 replica handguns. The value of the seized property is estimated to be $12,855.

Dennis WIHNON, 40-years-old, of Brockton was charged with:

  • Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possess a firearm contrary to a Prohibition order
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Possessing a Prohibited or Restricted firearm
  • Possessing a Prohibited Weapon

The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.

Donna YOUNG, 63-years-old, of Brockton was charged with:

  • Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Possessing a Prohibited or Restricted firearm
  • Possessing a Prohibited Weapon

The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.

Alyvia THEOBALD, 24-years-old, of Brockton was charged with:

  • Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Possessing a Prohibited or Restricted firearm
  • Possessing a Prohibited Weapon

The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.

Dwayne BURNS, 57-years-old, of West Grey Township was charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of Trafficking

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charge.

Patricia COUSINS, 43-years-old, of West Grey Township, was charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charge.

22 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a failed roadside test early this morning north of Clinton. 

At approximately 12:48 a.m. a Huron County OPP officer was patrolling North of Clinton on London Road when they observed an automobile with an obscured licence plate. A traffic stop was initiated, and it led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The test resulted in a fail and the driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody. 

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Cloe MCCLINCHEY, 22 years of age from Bluewater has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 05, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

28 Year Old Arrested For Impaired Driving

(Central Huron, ON) – A Central Huron resident is facing several charges following a recent traffic stop that took place on Base Line, Northwest of Clinton.

At approximately 5:40 p.m. on October 15, 2022 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a complaint of a possible impaired driver operating a red Toyota Tundra pickup truck in Central Huron. Officers began patrolling for the pickup truck and at approximately 6:47 p.m. a Huron OPP officer located and stopped the suspect vehicle on Base Line.

The investigating officer spoke with the driver and observed that the driver was displaying signs of impairment. Open alcohol and suspected psilocybin mushrooms were also located with the driver. The driver was placed under arrest and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further testing.

The driver provided two samples of breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be well above the legal limit. 

Evan SMITH, 28 years of age, from Central Huron has been charged with: Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), Dangerous Operation, and Possession of a Schedule III Substance – Psilocybin.

In addition to the criminal charges the accused was also charged with two Provincial Act offences. The vehicle was impounded and the accused’ driver’s licence was suspended.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 21, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

70 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving Tractor

(WALKERTON, ON) – On October 12, 2022, at 11:52 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a tractor being operated by a suspected impaired driver along Durham Street east in Walkerton. Officers located the tractor and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Roger KENNEDY, 70-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

This charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Catherine CORR Arrested Again – Passed Out Behind Wheel, Drugs, Etc. Etc.

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 33-year-old female and 53-year-old male, both from North Huron are facing several criminal charges following a report of a suspicious vehicle that was reported to police earlier this week.

On Monday, October 17, 2022 at approximately 08:30 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the Exeter Tim Horton’s parking lot. 

Officers arrived minutes later and located a Dodge Caliber automobile with two occupants inside. Officers attempted to speak to the occupants, but both were initially unresponsive. The female driver and male passenger were eventually woken and identified. Evidence of drug use was observed inside the vehicle. The investigating officer noticed signs that the driver was under the influence of a drug. As a result, the driver was placed under arrest for Operation while Impaired. Subsequent to the arrest, a search of the driver revealed a quantity of suspected fentanyl.

The male passenger was also arrested on the strength of two outstanding warrants. After searching the passenger, a quantity of suspected fentanyl was also found on his person.

Officers conducted a check on the vehicle and determined it had been stolen the day previous. Both suspects were transported to the Huron O.P.P. detachment in Clinton where they were processed and held for a bail hearing.

33-year-old Catherine CORR from North Huron has been charged with the following offences:

Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2 counts.

53-year-old Robin Wellstead from North Huron has been charged with the following offences:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid.

Another Pedestrian Struck In Hit & Run

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are seeking the public’s assistance in a recent fail to remain collision involving a pedestrian. 

On October 14, 2022 at approximately 11:39 p.m. Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to Huron Road (Highway 8) just west of Erie Street North in Clinton to assist a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle. 

Upon arrival first responders located an injured pedestrian, a 67-year-old male. He was transported to hospital and was later released with minor injuries.

The driver of the involved vehicle failed to remain at the collision scene. 

Police believe the suspect vehicle may be a grey Toyota Sienna minivan with a missing passenger side mirror. 

Investigators are asking the driver/owner of this suspect vehicle to contact police as soon as possible.

Thieves Cut Holes In Fence

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On October 18, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police investigated a break and enter at a Road 123, North Perth address.

Unknown person(s) attended the address and cut holes in a metal link fence and gained entry to the business. Once inside, unknown(s) removed several items.  

Police are continuing to investigate and ask the public to report suspicious activity immediately, and remember to lock doors to vehicles, houses, garages, and sheds. Do not leave keys with vehicles, including ATVs. Consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms.
