27 Year Old Caught Going 165 in an 80

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On May 1, 2020, at approximately 2:50 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 109 near the Fourth Line in the Town of Minto. The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling westbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 165 km/h.

Joel Graham UNDERWOOD, 27-years-old of Clifford has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on July 15, 2020. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

55 Year Old Caught Going 135 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On May 2, 2020, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar while travelling southbound on Highway 6 near Wellington Road 38. The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling southbound behind them at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle passed the police vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.

Michael HAMILTON, 55-years-old of Mount Forest has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on July 15, 2020. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On May 3, 2020, at approximately 12:35 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 18 near the Eighth Line in the Township of Centre Wellington. The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling eastbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 165 km/h.

Elliot Jakob MAY, 23-years-old of Fergus has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on July 15, 2020. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Repeat Offenders Arrested Again Near Seaforth – Methamphetamine A Factor – Katherine UPSHALL & Michael CHAPMAN

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two Huron East residents with an assortment of offences following an incident that took place east of Seaforth over the weekend.

On Saturday, May 2, 2020 at approximately 11:53 a.m. Huron OPP officers were patrolling on Manley Line when they observed a pickup truck pulling a recreation trailer without an attached licence plate. A traffic stop was initiated and upon doing so the driver accelerated and failed to stop for police. Officers were able to catch up with the vehicle at a stop sign however the driver once again disregarded the orders to stop and proceeded to take off. Officers followed after the vehicle until it eventually pulled into a laneway on Huron Road.

At that point the driver was immediately taken into custody. A search incident to arrest of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and a spring loaded knife.

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order

Fail to Comply with a Probation Order

Both accused have since been released from custody with court appearances scheduled for June 29, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Seaforth

(HURON EAST, ON) – A Seaforth resident is facing multiple charges after he was caught drunk driving last night in Huron East.

At approximately 10:16 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call about a possible impaired driver that was driving around in a pickup truck near Vanastra. Police immediately began patrolling for the vehicle and a little later officers located the suspect vehicle on Main Street in Seaforth.

While speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the male was displaying several signs of impairment. Upon arrest the driver failed to comply with officers and resisted arrest. Once he was taken into custody he was transported to the Sebringville OPP Detachment for breath tests.

Two samples of his breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were determined to be above the legal limit.

Darcy WILLIAMSON, 25 years of age, from Seaforth has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) and Resist Peace Officer. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 15, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

His licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded.

Offering To Pay For Sexual Services In Listowel Ends With Arrest – Name Released

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a North Perth resident after an incident at a local park.

The adult victim was sitting in a vehicle at Jackson Park, in Listowel, at approximately 1:45 a.m. when another vehicle arrived at the park. A person unknown to the victim approached the victim’s vehicle. During the conversation with the victim, the suspect requested sexual services in exchange for money.

Repeat Offender Assaults Officer During Arrest In Listowel – Taylia ROBSON

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges after an officer was assaulted while making an arrest in Listowel.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on April 30 2020, police were called to an address on Davidson Avenue in Listowel for a report of an unwanted person. During the investigation, it was determined that one person was breaching their release conditions, and was placed under arrest. During the arrest, the accused assaulted one officer. There were no injuries from the assault.

As a result, Taylia ROBSON, 29, of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation, has been charged with:

Driver Airlifted Following Collision – Vehicle Caught Fire

(WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a single motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 164, in the Municipality of West Perth. The collision occurred just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday May 2 2020, near Line 53.

The OPP, along with the North Perth Fire Department and the Perth County Paramedic Services, responded after receiving a report that a red Ford Escape had driven into a ditch and caught fire. The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was air lifted to hospital by Ornge Air Ambulance with life-threatening injuries. There were no other occupants of the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.

30 Tons Of Barley Spilled – Suspect(s) At Large

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after unknown suspects opened a gravity feed valve on a grain elevator at a business on Perth Line 88, in the Municipality of North Perth. The mischief occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. on April 30 2020. Approximately 25-30 metric tonnes of barley was spilled when the grain bin was opened. The value of the barley that was spilled is upwards of $5000.

Stolen Truck Used In Trailer Theft

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is looking for witnesses after a pick-up truck was stolen from an auto repair business in North Perth, and then was used to steal a dump trailer at another business.

Sometime overnight April 29 to 30 2020, unknown suspects stole the Ford SRW pick-up truck from the business on Perth Line 86. The suspects then used the truck to attend a business located on Perth Road 164, just north of Listowel, to steal a dump trailer. The stolen black 2020 14 foot Weberlane trailer is valued at over $11,000.

There were at least two suspects involved in the theft of the trailer.

The truck was recovered on May 01 2020, in Wellington County, but the trailer is still outstanding.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A suspended driver, who has been found driving three times this year already, was located driving again in Listowel on the weekend.

A Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on general patrol observed the driver, who was known to the officer, operating a grey Mazda. The vehicle pulled into a private driveway on Jackson Crescent, in an attempt to evade police, but the driver was stopped as he exited the vehicle.

Howard BLAKENEY Charged For Driving While Suspended

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A Cambridge resident is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop on Line 34, in the Municipality of West Perth.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Line 34 and stopped a Dodge Caravan just after 2:00 p.m. on April 28 2020. The investigation revealed that the driver was suspended from driving.

As a result, Howard BLAKENEY, 36, of Cambridge has been charged with:

Fail to surrender insurance card

8 Stolen Vehicles Recovered – Three Arrested

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – Members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP Middlesex-Elgin Community Street Crimes Unit, with assistance from the London Police Service, Chippewa Police Service and Oneida Police Service, have arrested three individuals following an investigation into the theft ring of vehicles in the London and Middlesex County area.

Between April 24th, 2020 and April 29th, 2020, thieves stole vehicles, keys and documents from several dealerships in the city of London and the County of Middlesex.

On April 30, 2020, members of the OPP Middlesex Elgin CSCU, assisted by Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE), executed a search warrant at a motel in the Mississauga area, where two suspects were taken into custody. Investigators have recovered 8 stolen vehicles, over 175 vehicle keys, and stolen documents from several dealerships located in the London and Middlesex County area.

OPP have charged Saul FLORES-CRUZ, 32 years-old, of St. Thomas ON with:

CC 145(5)(a) Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

On April 25, 2020, OPP arrested and charged Kalihwi RODARTE, 26 years-old, of the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation with:

CC 320.18(1)(a) Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

All accused parties have been remanded into police custody and are scheduled to appear in a London court room to speak to the charges.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

51 Year Old Driver Facing Impaired By Drug Charge – FERGUSON

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A traffic stop by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) last week has resulted in criminal charges against a Kincardine resident.

At approximately 1:15 a.m. on May 1, 2020 a Huron OPP officer was patrolling on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway just north of Bayfield when the officer came across a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the road. A traffic stop was initiated to check on the driver and while speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver to be possibly under the influence of a drug.

A roadside Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted and the driver performed poorly. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for impaired operation and a search was conducted. The subsequent search resulted in police locating a quantity of suspected drugs.

The driver was then transported to the Sebringville OPP Detachment for an evaluation conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). At the end of the evaluation the DRE determined the driver was indeed impaired by a drug.

Donald FERGUSON, 51 years of age, from Kincardine has been charged with Impaired Operation, Possession of a Schedule I Substance & Possession of a Schedule II Substance. The accused has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 13, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Collision Involving Impaired Driver – COONAN

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A Novice driver from Grand Bend is facing charges after he crashed his vehicle this past weekend north of Bayfield.

At approximately 3:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to attend a single motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Bayfield Road and Bluewater Veteran’s Highway.

Shortly thereafter an officer arrived on scene and spoke with the uninjured driver and passenger. While speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment through a drug. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for impaired operation and a search was conducted. Upon searching the vehicle police located a quantity of cannabis that was readily available to the driver.

The driver was then transported to the Petrolia OPP Detachment for an evaluation conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). At the end of the evaluation the DRE determined the driver was indeed impaired by a drug.

Eric COONAN, 27 years of age, from Grand Bend has been charged with Impaired Operation, Drive Motor Vehicle With Cannabis Readily Available & Novice Driver – Presence of Drug in System. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 29, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. His driver’s licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
