Fatal Collision Near Listowel

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently on scene of a single vehicle collision near Listowel that has resulted in a fatality.

At approximately 11:35 a.m. Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedic Services and North Perth Fire Department responded to a crash involving a motorcycle located on Line 87, just east of Road 176.

The motorcycle operator was pronounced deceased at the scene.

West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team members are currently on scene assisting with the collision investigation.

Motorists are asked to take an alternate route to avoid the collision scene. Line 87 is closed between Road 175 and Road 176.

15 Year Old From North Huron Located With Life Threatening Injuries

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On May 16, 2020 at 1:18 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) entering the Saugeen River near Concession 2 in Brant Township. Officers arrived at the dispatch location to find that the rider was unaccounted for.

Members of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and an OPP Canine Unit were called to help the South Bruce OPP search for the missing rider, a 15-year-old from the Municipality of North Huron.

The teen was located in the Saugeen River and brought to shore by members of the Hanover Fire Department. They were transported to a local hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are assisting the South Bruce OPP with this incident.

ATM Stolen

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On May 16, 2020 at approximately 4:30 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a Break and Enter at a business on Brock Road South just north of Highway 401, Puslinch. It was reported two unknown suspects had smashed the front glass doors of a gas bar and stole an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) from within. The vehicle involved, an unidentified black Dodge Ram pickup with crew-cab, was last seen travelling south bound. Surveillance has captured the image of two suspects who appear to have been concealing their identities.

Property damage to the store and the amount of cash stolen has not been estimated at this time. Please see surveillance photos for descriptions.

The investigation is still in its infancy and all public assistance is greatly appreciated. If you were in the area of Brock Road or the Highway 401 near this time and have a dash cam or surveillance cameras or even saw something suspicious please contact the OPP.

74 Year Old From Brussels Sent To Hospital Following Collision

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On May 15, 2020 at approximately 11:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two motor vehicles on Wellington Road 6 and 12th Line, Minto. Initial reports indicated a black sedan and a tractor trailer collided and the driver of the sedan was injured.

OPP, Minto Fire Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service attended the scene. The driver of the sedan, a 74-year-old female from Brussels, was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is being investigated. The roadway is expected to remain closed through the evening rush hour.

Theft Of Exhaust

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On May 13, 2020 at 10:12 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a business along Main Street in Kincardine. Sometime between 11:00 p.m. on May 13, 2020 and 12:00 a.m. on May 14, 2020, exhaust parts were taken. The value of the stolen exhaust parts is estimated to be $350.

Threats Results In Arrest

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person after a threats investigation.

On May 8 2020, the victim contacted police after receiving threatening messages from someone the victim had previously dated. The suspect had been asked to stop communicating with the victim, but continued to do so, and during the communication, the threats were made.

As a result of the investigation, a 42 year old North Perth resident has been charged with:

Resident Scammed Out Of $3000

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A West Perth resident has been scammed out of $3000 after receiving phone calls that appeared legitimate.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted on May 8 2020, after the victim received phone calls from a telephone company and a bank, advising that the victim’s bank card had been compromised. The victim verified banking information over the phone, which allowed the scammers access to accounts, where the money was removed.

The OPP would like to remind residents to never provide any personal information or banking information over the phone, even if the caller sounds legitimate. If you are in doubt, hang up, and contact your bank institution to verify.

Repeat Offender Arrested Following Foot Chase In Listowel – Christopher LOUGHEED

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person is facing a number of charges after an incident at a Listowel business on May 13 2020.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a pharmacy on Mitchell Road South, in the Municipality of North Perth, after a suspect attempted to use a fraudulent prescription. The suspect had left the scene, but attended a different pharmacy near-by where police caught up with him. Upon seeing police, the suspect fled out the back door of the business, leading police on a foot chase. The suspect was located on the North Perth trail and arrested.

As a result, Christopher LOUGHEED, 41, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

Resist a Peace Officer

Identity Theft – Obtain or Possess another person’s identity information

Fatal Collision Update – Deceased Identified

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers along with members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred yesterday afternoon near Seaforth.

At approximately 1:40 p.m. on May 13, 2020 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County Paramedic Services and Huron East Fire Department responded to the crash scene located at the intersection of North Line (Huron County Road #12) and Hydro Line Road.

The preliminary investigation has determined the operator of a motorcycle was stopping to turn left to head westbound on Hydro Line Road when his motorcycle was struck from behind by a sport utility vehicle that was northbound on North Line (Huron County Road #12).

The motorcycle operator was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He has since been identified as Allan COHOE, 76 years of age, from Burgessville.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today.

Vintage Three-Wheelers Stolen

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after a break and enter resulted in the theft of three vintage three-wheeled vehicles.

Sometime in the early morning hours on May 11 2020, unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a storage shed on the property, which is a rural location on Perth Line 44, near Wartburg, in the Township of Perth East. The suspects removed the Honda three-wheelers from the shed, and it is believed that they were loaded on a trailer that was waiting near the edge of the property. The suspects then departed the scene through a field.

Although not in running condition, the approximate value of the items stolen is $4000.

Items Stolen From Unlocked Vehicle In Wroxeter

(HOWICK, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a theft from a motor vehicle occurrence that took place in Wroxeter this past weekend.

The victim reported his vehicle was parked on Main Street over the weekend with the doors unlocked. Upon checking on his vehicle he noticed the licence plates were removed from the vehicle and a brown wallet was stolen that contained vehicle documents, a driver’s licence and a health card.

Repeat Offender Arrested In Goderich With Methamphetamine – Nikita HARTIN

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking following an arrest made over the weekend.

On Sunday, May 10, 2020 at approximately 3:00 a.m. Huron OPP officers observed the accused on Newgate Street in Goderich failing to abide by a condition of her release by communicating with a named individual.

As a result officers arrested the accused and a search incident to arrest was completed. The search of the accused revealed she was in possession of suspected hydromorphone, fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Nikita HARTIN, 23 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and three counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance. She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 29, 2020.

Sexual Assault On Fergus Trail – Composite Sketch Released

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On April 24, 2020, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a sexual assault which occurred on a trail on the east end of Fergus.

It was reported that sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., the female victim was sexually assaulted on the Elora-Cataract Trail, east of Gartshore Street and just west of the First Line in Fergus. The suspect was riding a black bicycle and was last seen travelling eastbound on the trail at Gartshore Street.

The suspect is described as:

Caucasian male

5’9-5’10” in height

Approximately 150 pounds

Sparse facial hair on upper lip and chin

Round face

Thin lips

He was wearing black reading glasses

30 Year Facing Impaired Charges – Paige MOULTON

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On May 10, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint involving an erratic driver in a (blue) Sport Utility Vehicle on Highway 10 near Berkeley, in Grey County. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for impaired driving.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Paige MOULTON, a 30 year old from Owen Sound with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and operation of a motor vehicle while impaired with blood drug concentration, section 320.14(1)(c) CC.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 17, 2020.
