Repeat Offender Arrested For Assault With Weapon & Threats

(CHESLEY, ON) – On July 16, 2020 at 5:31 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a disturbance along 5th Avenue south west in Chesley. The investigation resulted in criminal charges.

Bryan BULLOCK, 28-years-old, of Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with 2 counts of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon, Uttering Threats and Fail to Comply with Recognizance. The accused was held in custody for a show hearing scheduled for July 17, 2020.

Masked Carjacker Threatens With Weapon – BOLO Stolen Silver Mercedes GLK350 SUV Plate: CCZB 136

(ARRAN TWP, ON) – On July 16, 2020 at 10:01 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle theft.

Between 9:45 p.m. on July 16, 2020 and 9:55 p.m. on July 16, 2020, a motorist stopped along Bruce County Road 10 in Arran Township to check on a pedestrian. The pedestrian brandished a weapon and demanded the driver exit the vehicle. The suspect was last seen heading northbound on Bruce County Road 10.

The pedestrian was dressed in black and wearing a mask, there are no other descriptors available.

The vehicle is a silver Mercedes GLK350 Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) with licence #CCZB 136. A photo of a similar vehicle is attached to this media release.

If you see this vehicle, do not approach, call your local police service immediately.

Heated Argument Ends With Arrest Of 28 Year Old

(CHESLEY, ON) – On July 16, 2020 at 5:31 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a disturbance along 5th Avenue south west in Chesley. Officers arrived and located a group of people involved in a heated argument.

As a result of the initial investigation, a 28-year-old resident of Arran-Elderslie Township was taken into custody without incident.

The investigation is continuing and further details will be released when they become available.

Homicide Investigation Update – Police Seek Pickup Truck

(MIDDLESEX OPP) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public’s assistance to locate an outstanding pickup truck involved in a homicide investigation on the Oneida of the Thames First Nation. The pickup is described as an older model Chevrolet Silverado, green in colour, with large side rear-view mirrors. The truck is also believed to have loose tires in the truck bed.

On Monday, July 13, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of Oneida Police Service, Middlesex County OPP, along with Middlesex OPP Major Crime Unit, responded to a homicide at a Clara Road property on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation. The victim died as a result of a gunshot wound and a 43 year-old man was charged with First Degree Murder.

The investigation remains ongoing, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services.

21 Year Old Caught Going 148 in an 80

(WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver after they were speeding more than 68km/h over the limit in West Perth last weekend.

On July 12 2020, just before 2:30 p.m., police stopped a rental vehicle on Line 20, in the Municipality of West Perth, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 148km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Christopher ST DENIS, 21, of Guelph, has been charged with:

Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

A seven day driving suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

17 Year Old Caught Going 130 in an 80

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A young driver from North Perth has had their licence suspended for a week after they were caught racing.

Just before 07:30 p.m. on July 11 2020, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Perth Road 164, in the Municipality of North Perth, when a motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was pulled over north of Listowel after it was found to be travelling in excess of 130km/h in an 80km/h zone.

As a result, a 17-year-old driver from North Perth has been charged with:

Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed

A seven day driving suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

23 Year Old Drunk Driver Flips Stolen Vehicle – CRONK

(MEAFORD, ON) – On July 15, 2020 at 8:35 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision, involving a stolen motor vehicle on Grey Road 15, north of Leith, in the Municipality of Meaford, ON.

The driver was operating a blue van on Grey Road 15 in a dangerous manner, aggressively passing several vehicles. The driver lost control of this van, entered the east ditch and collided with several road signs. They continued driving in the ditch, eventually launching the vehicle off of an incline at a private driveway. The vehicle flipped in the air, landing on the roof, causing extensive damage to the van.

The driver was arrested and transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. This vehicle had been reported stolen, out of Owen Sound, earlier in the day.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Jonathan CRONK, 23 years-of-age, from Georgian Bluffs, ON with the following offences:

operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, section 320.18(1)(a) CC

dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, section 320.13(1) CC

possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, section 355(b) CC

fail to comply with a probation order, section 733.1(1) CC

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is required to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 1, 2020.

Homicide Update – Name Of Deceased Released

(MIDDLESEX OPP) – On Monday, July 13, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of Oneida Police Service, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Middlesex OPP Major Crime Unit, responded to a homicide at a Clara Road property on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation. Police have confirmed that one adult male was located deceased at the property, as a result of a gunshot wound.

The victim has been identified as Isaac DOXTATOR, 36-years-old of London, Ontario.

Harlo CORNELIUS, 43-years-old of the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-London at a later date to speak to the charges.

The investigation remains ongoing, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services.

19 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested – CUNNINGHAM

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On July 15, 2020 at 2:51 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a red car with no tail lights that was travelling eastbound on Grey Road 9, near the Town of Dundalk in Southgate, ON.

The driver was found not complying with condition of a release order from a previous involvement with police and was arrested.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Tyler CUNNINGHAM, 19 years-of-age, from Dundalk, ON with failing to comply with release order, section 145(5)(a) Criminal Code of Canada and operating a motor vehicle without insurance, section 2(1)(a) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is required to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 17, 2020.

Repeat Offender Arrested After Break In – Methamphetamine A Factor – NOBLE

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person is facing charges after they broke into a house during a storm.

Just after 7:30 p.m. on July 10 2020, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a residence on Road 157, in the Municipality of North Perth, after a suspect had broken into the home. The homeowner had returned home to find a person had broken a window to gain entry. While inside the house, the suspect changed into the homeowner’s clothes, and drank a beverage.

Police located the suspect on foot nearby, where they were arrested for the break and enter.

As a result, Tina NOBLE, 40, has been charged with:

Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Numerous Charges After OPP Claim To Smell Weed

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On July 14, 2020 at 11:25 a.m. a Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer approached the driver of a grey sport utility vehicle (suv) in the Wiarton detachment public area parking lot. The officer detected a strong odour of Cannabis emanating from this vehicle and approached and spoke with the driver about this smell. The driver became very agitated, refused to identify themselves and sped out of the parking lot.

An officer located this vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 6 and activated their cruiser emergency lights. The driver failed to stop for police and continued driving at a high rate of speed.

Officers located the involved vehicle a short time later parked on Lakeshore Boulevard in Sauble Beach, ON. The driver was arrested without further incident. The vehicle was searched and a small quantity of Cannabis was located inside the vehicle.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Mustafa KHEDRI, 30 years-of-age, from South Bruce Peninsula, ON with the following offences:

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, section 320.13(1) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Flight from peace officer, section 320.17 CC

Drive vehicle with Cannabis readily available, section 12(1) Cannabis Control Act

Driver fail to surrender licence, section 33(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

Drive motor vehicle – no licence, section 32(1), HTA

Race a motor vehicle – stunt, section 172(1) HTA

Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, section 7(5)(a) HTA

Fail to surrender insurance card, section 3(1) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

This driver was issued a 7 day drivers licence suspension and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound, Ontario on September 24, 2020.

Suspended Driver From Howick Charged

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A Howick Township resident is facing criminal and traffic charges after misleading police during an investigation.

Just before 12:30 p.m. on July 10 2020, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a truck pulling a trailer after it pulled into a business on Mitchell Road South, Listowel. The driver verbally identified themselves, but this was determined to be a false name.

Cyclist Struck From Behind By Vehicle – ASKARI Charged

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A 29-year-old cyclist received minor injuries after they were struck by a car in the Township of Perth East last Friday.

Shortly after 12:00 p.m. on July 10 2020, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services, and the Perth East Fire Department were called to the collision on Road 107, near Line 40, in the Township of Perth East. The cyclist was transported to a local hospital via ambulance. The driver of the car was not injured. The investigation revealed that the cyclist was travelling northbound on Road 107, when the car came from behind and struck the cyclist.

The driver of the car, Farzad ASKARI, 25, of Kitchener, was charged with:

Drivers are reminded to pay attention and share the road with cyclists. When a motor vehicle passes a cyclist, a minimum distance of one metre must be maintained between the vehicle and the cyclist (where practical). Not only is this a safety concern, but failure to do so may result in a fine and an additional two demerit points on the driver’s record. Whenever possible, drivers should change lanes to pass.

18 Year Old Charged After Breaking Window

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – On July 14, 2020 at 1:10 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a domestic dispute, after a window was smashed at Indian Agency Road, on Saugeen First Nation, ON.

An intoxicated person smashed the back window at this residence with their hand. The involved person sustained a cut on their finger from the broken window and was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged EMARIE SOLOMON-CLARIDGE, 18 years old from Saugeen First Nation, Ontario with Mischief, destroys or damages property, section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused has been released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 23, 2020.
