KOURTESIS – Sexual Assault

(MIDDLESEX, ON) On July 14, 2020, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit responded to reports of a historical sexual assault that occurred in the area of Komoka, ON.

Two From Lucknow Facing Weapon Charges – ROBERTS & STEEPER

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals with weapons related offences after a traffic stop was conducted last weekend east of Clinton.

On Saturday, July 18, 2020 at approximately 8:17 p.m. a Huron County OPP officer was conducting RADAR patrol on Front Road when a known suspended driver passed by in a pickup truck.

A traffic stop was initiated and upon confirming the suspension the driver was placed under arrest for Driving While Under Suspension. A search incident to arrest resulted in police locating and seizing a set of brass knuckles from inside the vehicle.

Both the driver and passenger were subsequently arrested for possession of the prohibited weapon.

The driver, Colby ROBERTS, 28 years of age from Lucknow has been charged with: Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There Was a Prohibited Device, Possess Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Order, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and other driving related offences. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 28, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Passenger, Kristen STEEPER, 27 years of age from Lucknow has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There Was a Prohibited Device, Fail to Comply With Undertaking and Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts). She was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 19, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

40 Year Old From Mildmay Facing Drunk Driving Charge – WALTER

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On July 11, 2020, at approximately 10:25 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver operating a pick-up truck on Wellington Road 2 in the Township of Wellington North.

Police located the vehicle and while speaking with the driver and determined that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Dean Michael WALTER, 40-years-old of Mildmay has been charged with Impaired – 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on August 14, 2020.

Drunk Driving Charge Following Collision – MCGOWAN

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On July 10, 2020, at approximately 4:35 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two motor vehicle property damage collision on Scotland Street near Orangeville Road in Fergus.

During the course of the investigation, officers formed the opinion that the one of the drivers had consumed alcohol prior to the collision. A Roadside Screening Test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre further testing.

Bryce Jonathan MCGOWAN, 42-years-old of Fergus has been charged with Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on August 14, 2020.

Drunk Driver Arrested At Police Station

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On July 16, 2020, at approximately 7:40 p.m. an individual attended the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Operation Centre on Charles Allan Way in Fergus to report an incident.

During the course of the investigation, officers formed the opinion that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to attending the detachment. A Roadside Screening Test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and taken for further testing in the building.

Jordan NICHOLLS, 41-years-old of Fergus has been charged with Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on August 21, 2020.

Tatiana SHEVTSOVA – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On July 18, 2020, at approximately 3:00 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a motor vehicle on Conservation Road at Watson Road for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Nathaniel David HANSEN – 145 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On July 11, 2020 at approximately 11:10 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 35 near Concession 1 in Puslinch Township. The officer observed a southbound blue motor vehicle travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 145 km/h.

Nathaniel David HANSEN, 19-years-old of Guelph has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on October 7, 2020. The vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Officer Struck In Head

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a Central Huron resident with Assault Police and other criminal charges following an incident that took place in Clinton recently.

On Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Huron OPP responded to an apartment complex on James Street to investigate a report of a male that was causing a disturbance with another tenant. Investigators determined the male had threatened and gestured to cause harm against another tenant at the complex.

When the investigating officer attempted to apprehend the suspect he immediately resisted arrest and struck the officer in the head. Further, the accused made threats toward the officer.

The injured officer was treated at a local hospital and was released with a head injury.

Jesse HILL, 30 years of age from Clinton has been charged with: Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault and two counts of Utter Threats.

He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 24, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Fatal Collision Update – Deceased Identified

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On July 21, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), Waterloo and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and Puslinch Fire responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a group of motorcycles and a sedan on Wellington Road 35 near Gore Road in Puslinch Township.

Investigation revealed that four motorcycles were travelling northbound and a sedan was travelling southbound on Wellington Road 35 when the collision occurred.

Giancarlo DE-BARTOLO, 61-years-old of Guelph was operating one of the motorcycles involved in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Wellington County OPP along with the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate the collision.

Repeat Offender Facing More Charges – Perry BAKKER

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged another Goderich resident in connection with a stolen property investigation conducted by members of the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On Tuesday, July 21, 2020 Members from the CSCU executed at a search warrant at a Cambria Road North residence and recovered a stolen ATV. At that time police arrested and charged a 35-year-old female resident.

As a result of further investigation police were able to identify the seller of the stolen ATV. He was arrested last night in Goderich and was taken into custody without incident.

Perry BAKKER, 34 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with: Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 5, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Home Invader Kicks Door In – Ashton JACK Arrested

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) July 22 – 5:34 a.m. – Grey Bruce OPP were dispatched to a break and enter that had just occurred at a residence on French Bay Road, Saugeen First Nation. The complainant advised that an unknown female had just kicked in the locked front door of their residence, causing extensive damage to the door and the frame. The homeowner woke up from the noise and confronted the suspect before she stole anything. The accused fled the scene on foot.

A description of the suspect was provided to police and after patrolling the area, the accused was located and arrested.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Ashton JACK, 31 years-of-age, from Saugeen First Nation, ON with break an enter a residence – with intent to commit an indictable offence, section 348(1)(a), Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

The accused was released on an Undertaking and will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on November 18, 2020.

Kevin SHARMAN Facing Theft Charge

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A North Perth resident is facing a criminal charge after a shoplifting incident at a local business last week.

Just before 5:30 p.m. on July 16 2020, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft that had just occurred at a business on Mitchell Road South, in Listowel.

Police located the suspect nearby, where they were arrested for the theft.

As a result, Kevin SHARMAN, 31, of North Perth, has been charged with:

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charge.

Londoner Caught Going 60 Over Speed Limit In North Perth

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver after they were driving almost 60km/h over the speed limit in North Perth last weekend.

On July 17 2020, just after 3:00 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Perth Road 164, north of Monkton, in the Municipality of North Perth, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 138km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Konrad JAGIELLO, 29, of London, has been charged with:

Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

A seven day driving suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

More Charges In Homicide Investigation – CAMPBELL & SMITH

(MEAFORD, ON) – On May 3, 2020 at 4:02 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a missing person, Emerson SPRUNG. The 25-year-old male was last seen on May 2, 2020 at 9:00 p.m. leaving the family residence at Trowbridge Street West in Meaford on his BMX bicycle.

Human remains, located on May 6, 2020 were identified as that of the missing male, Emerson SPRUNG.

On July 22, 2020, as a result of the ongoing investigation, under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, two additional people have been arrested and charged.

Laurel CAMPBELL, 28 years old from Municipality of Meaford, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder, section 240 Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

Bridget Taylor SMITH, 25 years old from Municipality of Meaford, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder, section 240 CC.

In May, OPP arrested and charged Matthew MCQUARRIE, 34 years old from Meaford, with first degree murder, section 235(1) Criminal Code of Canada.

Drunk Stunt Driver Assaults Police – TAYLOR

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A Bluewater resident is facing some criminal charges following an impaired driving incident that also turned into an assault police investigation.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on July 16, 2020 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a pickup truck exit a restaurant on Main Street South in an erratic fashion. The driver squealed the tires and took off at a high rate of speed heading southbound.

A traffic stop was conducted and a roadside screening test was completed. Upon failing the roadside test the driver resisted arrest and in the process he assaulted the arresting officer. The driver was transported to the Huron Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both samples were analyzed to be over the legal limit.

Devon TAYLOR, 29 years of age from Bluewater has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero (80 Plus), Assault a Peace Officer, Resist Peace Officer and Stunt Driving.

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 19, 2020.
