Zeljko ANDRASIC Arrested At RIDE

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On August 17, 2020, at approximately 3:40 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Concession 1 in Puslinch Township when officers investigated the driver of a motor vehicle that entered into the checkpoint.

Police spoke with the driver and detected an odour of alcohol on their breath. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Zeljko ANDRASIC, 53-years-old of Cambridge been charged with Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on September 22, 2020 to answer to the charge.

Prohibited Driver With Insecure Load Charged – Robert DEITER

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On August 24, 2020 at 4:46 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a grey pick-up truck that was pulling a utility trailer with an insecure load on Highway 10, near Berkeley, in the Township of Chatsworth.

Debris had fallen off of the trailer, causing a dangerous situation for other road users.

During the investigation, OPP officers found that the driver’s licence was currently suspended and they were prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Robert DEITER, 60 years-of-age, from Grey Highlands with the following offences:

Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code, section 320.18(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada

Driving while under suspension, section 53(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

Insecure load, section 111(2) HTA

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is required to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 12, 2020.

More Stunt Drivers Charged

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON)

10:26 a.m. – Grey Bruce OPP stopped a black suv on Highway 6, near Limberlost Road, in South Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 130 km/h in this posted 80 km/h speed limit. The driver was Hardik RAVAL, 25 years-of-age, from Windsor,ON.

11:07 a.m. – Grey Bruce OPP stopped a grey suv on Highway 6, near Limberlost Road, in South Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 130 km/h in this posted 80 km/h speed limit. The driver was Shawn LAUGHTON, 45 years-of-age, from Mount Brydges, ON.

11:00 p.m. – Grey Bruce OPP stopped a black car on Highway 6, near Weirs Road, in South Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 145 km/h in this posted 80 km/h speed limit. The driver was Leeor GREENBLAT, 23 years-of-age, from North York, ON.

1:29 p.m. – Grey Bruce OPP stopped a black car on Highway 6, near Limberlost Road, in South Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 130 km/h in this posted 80 km/h speed limit. The driver was MD Amir HIRA, 21 years-of-age, from Scarborough, ON.

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON)

09:09 a.m. – Grey Bruce OPP stopped a black suv on Highway 6, near Pike Bay Road, in Northern Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 135 km/h in this posted 80 km/h speed limit. The driver was Sivaiah ADAPA, 26 years-of-age, from Montreal, PQ.

12:49 p.m. – Grey Bruce OPP stopped a blue car on Highway 6, near Spry Road, in Northern Bruce Peninsula that was travelling over 130 km/h in this posted 80 km/h speed limit. The driver was Karolina DRATWA, 28 years-of-age, from Mississauga, ON.

All of these drivers were issued a provincial summons to attend court, a seven day drivers licence suspension and their vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days.

Grey Bruce OPP are asking the public to report unsafe driving, including excessive speeding and aggressive driving.

Customer List Seized In Methamphetamine Bust – Helena RANKIN Arrested

(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) – On August 24, 2020, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) members executed a Search Warrant at a property along Bruce County Road 23 in Kincardine Township.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized a quantity of Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Benzodiazepines, Nabilone and Oxycodone. The estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $11,215.00.

Police also seized offence related property including: digital scales, cell phones, debt lists, drug trafficking paraphernalia and drug packaging material.

Helena RANKIN, 48-years-old, of Kincardine was charged with:

Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking

Possession of Benzodiazepines for the purpose of trafficking

Possession of Nabilone for the purpose of trafficking

Possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking

The accused was held in custody pending the result of a bail hearing.

Fatal Collision – Deceased Identified

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) – On August 22, 2020 at 11:35 p.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision along Amberley Road in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township. Officers attended with members of the Lucknow Fire Department and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to find the vehicle had rolled onto its side before coming to rest against a hydro pole.

The driver, 71-year-old Thomas MALINS of Huron-Kinloss Township was extricated from the vehicle by fire fighters and taken to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team investigators are assisting the Huron OPP with this incident.

Amberley Road was closed for the protection of emergency responders. It has since re-opened to traffic.

Kimberley KAY – Charged With Drunk Driving Following Collision

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On August 23, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a grey car and a black pick-up truck on Highway 6, near Front Street, in the Village of Tobermory, Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The driver of the car drove into a parked pick-up truck on Front Street, causing extensive damage to the car. The driver attempted to drive away, but their vehicle was too damaged to drive. The collision was observed by several witnesses.

The driver was arrested for being impaired while operating a motor vehicle and was transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Wiarton for a breath test.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Kimberley KAY, 56 years-of-age, from Northern Bruce Peninsula, ON with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and operation of a motor vehicle while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80, section 320.14(1)(b) CC.

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and the involved vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The accused has been released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 22, 2020.

Austin CICCAGLIONE – Impaired Driving

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On August 22, 2020 at 9:05 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a red pick-up truck with an attached trailer. The driver of the truck had lost control, hit the gravel shoulder and left the roadway, colliding with the ditch on Highway 6, near Southgate Road 12, in the Township of Southgate.

Grey County Emergency Medical Services and the Wellington North Fire Department assisted officers at the scene. The driver and a passenger were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The driver was arrested for being impaired while operating a motor vehicle and was transported to Wellington OPP detachment in Teviotdale for a breath test. The results of the breath test were over twice the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Austin CICCAGLIONE, 30 years-of-age, from Stoney Creek, ON with the following offences:

Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80, section 320.14(1)(b) CC

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and the involved vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The accused has been released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 29, 2020.

Kendall CAZABON – Drunk Driving

(ELDERSLIE TWP, ON) – On August 21, 2020 at 9:20 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision along Bruce County Road 3 in Elderslie Township. Officers attended with members of the Paisley Fire Department and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to find the vehicle had left the roadway and come to rest in a field. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol.

Kendall CAZABON, 27-years-old, of Simcoe was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on October 21, 2020 to answer to the charge.

Irfan KHALID – 140 in an 80

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 7:29 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a motorist on Highway 6, near Greig Settlement Road, in South Bruce Peninsula, with stunt driving – 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) or more over the posted speed limit, contrary to section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act.

Irfan KHALID, 61 years-of-age from Milton ON, was travelling over 140 km/h in a (white) sport utility vehicle, in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The accused was issued a Provincial Summons, a seven day drivers licence suspension and their vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The Grey Bruce OPP want to remind motorists that excessive speed is one of the leading causes of deaths on our highways.

Restaurant Window In Mount Forest Shot

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On August 22, 2020 at approximately 4:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons incident at a business on Main Street North in the Town of Mount Forest.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a single projectile, which is believed to be a bullet, pierced the window of a restaurant and came to rest on the floor.

There were customers and staff inside the business at the time of the incident and no one was injured.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and there are no concerns for public safety at this time.

Officers canvassed homes in the surrounding rural area and were advised that it sounded like someone was possibly target shooting around the same time that the incident occurred.

Wellington County OPP along with the OPP Forensic Identification Unit continue to investigate.

Missing Person Found Deceased

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On August 19, 2020, members of the Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a missing male. Joshua THOMPSON, twenty-seven-years old of Owen Sound was last seen leaving his residence in a white mini-van on the morning of August 19, 2020.

The vehicle was later located at the West Rocks Management Area in the Township of Georgian Bluffs, and an extensive search of the area was conducted.

At approximately 11:00 a.m., on August 22, 2020, Joshua THOMPSON was located deceased at the West Rocks Management Area. His death has been deemed non-suspicious.

29 Year Old From Hanover Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(CHESLEY, ON) – On August 20, 2020 at 9:07 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol stopped a vehicle along 1st Avenue south in Chesley. The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Jamien UNRAU, 29-years-old, of Hanover was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 25, 2020 to answer to the charge.

26 Year Old From Gorrie Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(HOWICK, ON) – A Gorrie resident has been charged with Impaired Operation – Over 80 following a traffic stop conducted by police last weekend in Gorrie.

At approximately 12:22 a.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2020 a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle on Albert Street South in Gorrie.

Upon speaking with the driver officers noted the driver had been drinking some alcohol. A roadside screening test was completed and the driver registered a fail. He was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation – Over 80 and was transported to back to detachment for further testing. The driver provided two samples of his breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were over the legal limit.

Orlando David PEREZ PEREZ 26 years of age from Gorrie has been charged with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 26, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Methamphetamine Bust – CASKENETTE

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person is facing numerous charges after a traffic stop in the Municipality of North Perth last weekend.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on August 16 2020, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle that was travelling on Wallace Avenue North. The plates on the vehicle were not authorized for the vehicle, and upon arrest, the driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and identity documents belonging to other people. The driver was also not licenced, and the vehicle was not insured.

As a result, Amanda CASKENETTE, 33, of New Hamburg, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Possession of an Identity Document (3 counts)

Drive Motor Vehicle, no licence

Operate a Motor Vehicle without insurance

Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges.

No Lights Leads To Impaired Charge – STOLZ

(WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a person for driving while impaired by alcohol.

Just before 9:30 p.m. on August 15 2020, a Perth County OPP officer on patrol observed a vehicle towing a dump type trailer, and the trailer did not have any rear lights. The vehicle was stopped on Perth Line 55, and the driver was showing signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.
