(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving related charges on the first day of school.
On Wednesday September 3, 2025, just after 7:00 a.m., L&A County OPP members were advised of a traffic complaint involving a possible impaired driver that almost struck a school bus on County Road 2 in Tyendinaga Township. A second citizen reported that the vehicle entered the ditch striking a mailbox before continuing eastbound. The vehicle was located by police in Napanee, and the driver was arrested.
Charity-Jo MURPHY, a 48-year-old from Kingston, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
- Dangerous Operation
- Fail to remain
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 23, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded.
