On September 20th at 11:21pm the Sarnia Police responded to the area of East Street and Kathleen Avenue in the City of Sarnia in regards to a weapons call.
Police learned that a male youth attended the area, dressed in all black and wearing a black ski mask. He was armed with a can of bear spray, a fixed blade dagger, and two folding knives. As another set of youths passed by, the armed male called out to the others by name. A confrontation started, at which time the armed male discharged bear spray into the faces of the three individuals. The armed male then struck one member of the group two times in the head and upper chest.
The three victims received minor injuries. One suffered a defensive injury (finger dislocation).
The armed male fled the area but was located a short distance away and arrested by responding officers.
A 17 year old youth has been held for bail charged with the following offences:
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Assault with a Weapon (3 Counts)
- Disguise with Intent
- Fail to Comply with Sentence (2 Counts)
- Possession of a Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
Following his bail hearing, the court remanded this youth into custody.
