(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been charged as a result of a drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
At approximately 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU, with assistance from the West Region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, executed a search warrant at an address on Aberdeen Avenue in Delhi, Norfolk County, as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
After entering the residence on the property, officers took two individuals into custody without incident. A search of one of the individuals led to the discovery and seizure of suspected fentanyl.
During searches of the residence, property, and vehicle on-site, officers seized suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone, methadone, oxycodone, and Dilaudid, along with a prohibited weapon and Canadian currency. The sedan on the property was also seized.
Later, officers executed a search warrant at an address on Leslie Avenue in Port Dover, Norfolk County.
During searches of the residence, property, and vehicle on-site, officers seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and ketamine, along with prohibited weapons, additional weapons, a replica handgun, and drug paraphernalia. The sedan on the property was also seized.
The estimated total value of the seized items exceeds $380,000.
33-year-old Sydney TONTSCH from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offence:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin).
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
44-year-old Samuel PARK from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (11 counts),
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada,
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (six counts),
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin) (two counts),
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs (three counts),
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
- Fail to comply with Probation Order (23 counts).
The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Friday, January 31, 2025.
