Cody WHITE Was Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – One person was charged following a drug investigation and the execution of a search warrant at a home in the Municipality of West Elgin.

On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant for a residence in the Municipality of West Elgin. The warrant was executed with the assistance from Oxford, Brant and the Lambton (CSCU) Units, Elgin OPP members, West Region Tactics and Rescue, West Region Emergency Response Team and the West Region Canine Unit.

As a result of the investigation Cody WHITE, 27-years-old of West Elgin was charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

·      Disobeying Order of Court

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – cocaine (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act)

The accused has been released with the first appearance date of Friday, November 7, 2025 at the St. Thomas Court house.

Nelson AGUEDA Was Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with Dangerous operation and Flight from police.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, at approximately 6:52 p.m., Elgin OPP with the assistance from Middlesex OPP, West Region Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 that lead police to an abandoned vehicle in the Municipality of West Elgin. Police arrested an individual without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Nelson AGUEDA, 51-years-old from Leamington was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from peace officer

The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

3 Arrested For Break Enter – WHITE, LOCKER & FORBES

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged three individuals after a break and enter at a church in West Elgin.

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, at approximately 1:37 p.m., police responded to a break and enter in West Elgin. Parties left the scene in a motor vehicle and were stopped shortly afterwards.

As a result of the investigation, Samantha WHITE, a 31-year-old from Malahide was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Resist Peace Officer and
  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Ryan LOCKER, a 31-year-old from Aylmer was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence

Nickolas FORBES, a 30-year-old from St. Thomas was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault
  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Possess a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine

The accused parties were all released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Deceased Found Following Fire

(WEST ELGIN, ON)- On August 8, 2025, at approximately 10:53 p.m., Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Medavie-Elgin Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and the West Elgin Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 21000 block of Pioneer Line, Rodney, West Elgin.

The single residence structure was destroyed, and a 54-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO) and the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM).

Pioneer Line remains closed between Blacks Road and Furnival Road.

Cocaine Bust – FINDLAY X3

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – Three people have been charged following the execution of a search warrant at a home in West Elgin.

On June 12, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the Lambton Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Elgin Bail Compliance Team executed a search warrant at a residence on Furnival Rd, Municipality of West Elgin.

Police seized quantities of suspected cocaine. Police also seized a quantity of property including scales, some Canadian currency and a few cellular phones.

The following individuals are charged under the Criminal Code with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine:

  • Owen FINDLAY, 20-years-old of West Elgin
  • William FINDLAY,55-years-old of West Elgin
  • Stephanie FINDLAY, 49-Years old of West Elgin

The accused parties have been released with the first appearance date of July 7,2025 at the St. Thomas Court house.

Overdose Death – 42 Year Old Facing Manslaughter Charge

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Elgin County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, Elgin County OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner has culminated in criminal charges against a West Elgin resident.

On May 12, 2025, members of the Elgin County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), has charged one person as a result of an opioid overdose, which claimed a life in West Elgin.

On July 6, 2023, police were called to a residence in West Elgin where a 28-year-old male was found unresponsive and died at the scene. The investigation has revealed that the victim died because of an opioid overdose.

A 42-year-old male from West Elgin has been charged with:

·        Manslaughter

·        Traffick in Schedule I Substance – other drugs

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas at a later date.

James Deleary Was Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment, has charged an individual following an attempt at a traffic stop.

On April 26, 2025, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a member of the Elgin OPP attempted to stop a passenger vehicle on Grey Line near Mistele Road, Municipality of West Elgin. The vehicle did not stop, however was later located at an address in West Elgin.

As a result of the investigation, James Deleary, a 57-year-old from was taken into custody and charged with:

  • Resist a Peace Officer

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on May 27, 2025.

Jennifer Witmer – Drunk Driving

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), has charged an individual following a collision investigation.

On April 20, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Elgin OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle on Kerr Road and Queens Line, in the Municipality of West Elgin.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Jennifer Witmer, a 30-year-old from Rodney was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on June 3, 2025.

Daniel CARROLL Was Arrested Again

(West Elgin, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chatham-Kent Detachment, has charged an individual following a weapons complaint.

On January 5, 2025, at approximately 01:05 a.m., a member of the Elgin OPP responded to a complaint of firearms being discharged on the roadway from an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and a truck on Furnival Road, West Elgin. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicles in question.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel CARROLL, a 50-year-old from West Elgin was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Drive motor vehicle not equipped with ignition interlock device

A 45-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on February 18, 2024.

Jacob DELEARY Facing Assault & Weapons Charges

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident that resulted in an increased police presence in the Municipality of West Elgin.

On January 1, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers of the Elgin OPP initiated an investigation following a disturbance on Graham Street, Municipality of West Elgin.

An interaction occurred between two occupants of a vehicle and another individual. The two occupants safely left the area in the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

At approximately, 3:15 a.m., the other individual was located and taken into custody without incident in with the assistance of the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit (K9).

In the interest of public safety, a shelter and place notification was temporarily put into affect for the nearby residents but has since been lifted.

As a result, Jacob DELEARY, a 29-year-old from West Elgin has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon (Two Counts)
  • Pointing a firearm (Two Counts)
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused was held for a bail hearing and has since been remanded into custody.

Investigation is ongoing with the assistance of Elgin OPP Crime Unit.

Drug Bust – PERRIN Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – On December 19, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Lambton CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence in the Municipality of West Elgin.

As a result of the executed search warrant, police seized quantities of suspected narcotics including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and psilocybin. Police also seized a quantity of other property including a cellular phone and a prohibited weapon.

The OPP has charged Sally PERRIN, a 62-year-old from West Elgin with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (Other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Additionally, the OPP has charged James PERRIN, a 45-year-old from West Elgin with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

The accused individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on February 10, 2025.

Edgar MARSHALL Was Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – Police have charged an individual with an additional criminal charge following an ongoing investigation in West Elgin.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Edgar MARSHALL, 27-years-old of London, has been further charged under section 236 (b) of the Criminal Code with Manslaughter.

The accused was remanded into custody on August 23, 2024, on previous charges. This individual remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on December 27, 2024.

The investigation began on August 23, 2024, after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Municipality of West Elgin by the Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Elgin County OPP Crime Unit with assistance from the OPP West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Emergency Response Team.

A publication ban has been issued and further information will not be released.

The investigation continues under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested two individuals after investigating a suspicious vehicle in the Municipality of West Elgin.

On October 27, 2024, at approximately 11:40 p.m., members of the Elgin OPP, St. Thomas Detachment, investigated a passenger vehicle in a parking lot near the intersection of Main Street and Argyle Street, Municipality of West Elgin.

As a result of the interaction police discovered the vehicle occupants were in possession of a quantity of illicit drugs, suspected to be cocaine and cannabis.

As a result, William WRIGHT, a 26-years-old from Wardsville was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

Additionally, Terri-Lynn BROOKS, a 25-years-old from Wardsville was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place

Both the accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on December 2, 2024.

Justin TERESCHYN – Drunk Driving

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), located and investigated a vehicle after several Good Samaritans reported a vehicle travelling the wrong way on the Highway 401.

On September 7, 2024, at approximately 3:20 a.m., officers of the Elgin OPP received multiple reports of a passenger vehicle travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the Highway 401 near Orford Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

Shortly after the initial reports, police received an additional report indicating that the vehicle had turned around and was now travelling the correct direction, eastbound on the Highway 401. At approximately 3:35 a.m., police located and stopped the vehicle on the eastbound Highway 401 near Graham Road, Municipality of West Elgin.

While speaking to the driver, the investigating officer observed signs of intoxication. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Elgin OPP St. Thomas Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Justin TERESCHYN, a 36-year-old from London was charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on October 7, 2024.

Kathleen VANNATTER Was Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin County Detachment located and investigated a vehicle after a Good Samaritan reported a suspicious vehicle in the Municipality of West Elgin.

On April 28, 2024, at approximately 12:20 a.m., members of the Elgin County OPP located the vehicle on McMurchy Line near Graham Road, Municipality of West Elgin.

While speaking to the driver, the investigating officer observed signs of intoxication and a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test was administered, registering a failure. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Chatham OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kathleen VANNATTER, a 60-year-old from West Elgin was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on May 28, 2024.
