Impaired Driver Crashes Into Field – TODD

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A Tiverton driver has been charged after driving while impaired and crashing into a field.

On November 15 2020, just before 02:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a vehicle that had driven straight though the stop sign at Line 43 at Perth Road 119, in the Township of Perth East, and crashed in a field.

The investigation revealed that the driver, who was westbound on Line 43, failed to stop at the stop sign at Perth Road 119, which is a T intersection. The truck then drove into a farm field where it came to rest. The driver was not injured in the collision.

During the course of the investigation, the responding officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing, where two samples of breath provided were more than double the legal limit.

As a result, Tyler TODD, 23, of Tiverton, has been charged with:

Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Pedestrian Struck Near Listowel – MILANOVICH Charged

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person has been charged after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Highway 23.

On November 12 2020, just before 6:00 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Service and the North Perth Fire Department responded to a collision on Perth Road 164 (Highway 23) near Line 60. An adult pedestrian had crossed the road and was struck by a vehicle travelling northbound. They were transported to a local hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, the driver of the car, Katie MILANOVICH, 29, of Elmira, has been charged with:

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

28 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge Following Collision

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A Mitchell driver is facing an impaired driving charge after a collision last week.

On November 12 2020, just after 06:00 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Perth Fire Department, and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a collision on Line 42, in the Municipality of West Perth. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of a car travelling westbound on Line 42 entered the eastbound lane, striking the rear of a tractor that was travelling in that lane.

The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the course of the investigation, officers formed the opinion that the driver of the car had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and further testing was conducted, where two samples of breath provided were more than double the legal limit.

As a result, Andrew RUSSELL, 28, of Mitchell, has been charged with:

Drunk Driver Arrested In Seaforth – CRONIN

(HURON EAST, ON) – A Stratford resident is facing Impaired Operation charges in Huron County following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Seaforth this past weekend.

At approximately 9:33 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 a Huron County OPP officer noticed a compact vehicle travelling on Main Street with a burnt out headlight and licence plate light.

Upon stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver the investigating officer also noted the driver had some open alcohol inside his vehicle. A roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail.

The driver was placed under arrest and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment in Clinton for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests registered above the legal limit.

Dylan CRONIN, 27 years of age from Stratford has been charge with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Over 80. He has since been released from court with a court date scheduled for December 21, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. His licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days and his vehicle was also impounded.

$50,000 Reward Offered

(KETTLE AND STONY POINT FIRST NATION) – The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a total reward of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of 29-year-old David Jordan OLIVER of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation.

On Sunday, August 2nd, 2020, at approximately 1:30 pm, members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment, OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine were assisting Anishinabek Police Service in the search for David OLIVER. His body, along with his red Dodge Ram pickup truck, were located by police near 9356 Army Camp Road in Lambton Shores.

The OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and the Anishinabek Police Service have conducted an extensive investigation, and have followed up on a number of tips from the public. To date, the person or persons responsible for the murder have not been arrested. The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided as they become available.

Police are appealing to anyone with information in the murder of David Jordan OLIVER to contact investigators on a dedicated, toll-free tip line at 1-833-525-8477 in an effort to bring this case to a resolution. Evan GEDDIS – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On November 14, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m. a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 southbound near Wellington Road 30 when he conducted a traffic stop of a red sedan.

Police spoke with the driver, formed the opinion that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

Evan GEDDIS, 24-years-old of the Guelph has been charged with Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on December 8, 2020 to answer to the charge.

POOLE Caught Going 157 in an 80

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Another driver from outside of Perth County has been charged for racing a motor vehicle.

On November 12 2020, just before 7:30 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 55, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 157km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Clinton Jack POOLE, 27, of Woodstock, has been charged with:

A seven day driving suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

23 Year Old Caught Going 132 in an 80

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver, this time from Scarborough, after they were stopped for stunt driving in Perth East last week.

On November 12 2020, just after 2:30 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 34, in the Municipality of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 132km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Kathan Paresh BANKER, 23, of Scarborough, has been charged with:

Fatal Crash Claims Life of Male Pedestrian

(TINY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report at 6:14 p.m. November 16, 2020 of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Baseline Road in Tiny Township. Officers along with County of Simcoe Paramedic Services and Township of Tiny Fire Services attended the scene located between Concession Road 6 and Downers Road on Baseline Road and located an 81 year old male pedestrian who had been struck by a southbound car. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel and his identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

Baseline Road remains closed between Mertz Road and Concession Road 6 in Tiny Township and members of the OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Investigation (TTCI) Unit are assisting in determining the cause of the crash.

Investigators advise that Baseline Road should be open for vehicular traffic after 1:00 a.m. November 17, 2020.

Impaired Driver Arrested Near Harriston

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On November 13, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m. a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a motor vehicle on Wellington Road 109 near Fifth Line south of Harriston.

Police spoke with the driver and determined that they had alcohol in their body. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Jeffrey Allan BELL, 53-years-old of Brockton has been charged with;

Impaired Operation-Alcohol or Drug contrary to the Criminal Code.

Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code.

Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container contrary of Liquor Licence Act.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on December 8, 2020.

Fatal Collision Update – Criminal Charges Laid

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in relation to the September 24, 2020 fatal motor vehicle collision that involved a boom lift and a passenger vehicle on Trafalgar Road at Sideroad 10 in the Town of Erin.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, Lloyd COCKBURN, 59-years-old of Georgetown was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the boom did not require medical care.

Marc Joseph BIBEAU, 50-years-old of Brampton has been charged with Causing Death by Criminal Negligence and Dangerous Operation Causing Death contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 24, 2020 to answer to the charges.

HIYABU – Impaired Driving & Refusal

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On November 15, 2020 at approximately 1:15 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle that had driven into a ditch on Township Road 1 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Police spoke with the driver and determined that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. Police also discovered that the driver was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code.

The driver was placed under arrest for impaired operation and they were read the demand to provide a breath sample.

The driver later declined to provide the required samples of their breath.

Alexander Okbansie HIYABU, 34-years-old of Guelph has been charged with Operation While Impaired-alcohol or drug, Failure or Refuse to Comply with Demand, and Operate Motor Vehicle While Prohibited contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on December 8, 2020.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days and driver’s licence suspended for 90 as per statute.

MILLER – 140 in an 80

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On November 9, 2020 at approximately 11:55 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Parkway near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a grey sedan travelling northbound at speed that appeared to be above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 km/h.

As a result, Dwayne Leshern MILLER, 33-years-old of Scarborough, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on May 5, 2021. The defendant’s vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Pervert Alert – Young Girl Assaulted – Do You Recognize This Person?

(LAKESHORE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex County Major Crime Unit is releasing a composite drawing of a suspect in relation to an incident that occurred on November 12, 2020 on Broadway Street in Belle River.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., a young girl was riding her bicycle when she was approached by an elderly man walking. The man stopped the victim and engaged her in conversation. The man then proceeded to kiss the girl several times against her will. The youth pushed past the man and left the area, reporting the incident to her parents.

The suspect was described as follows:

Male, white

Approximately 50-60 years old

Approximately five feet four inches tall and slightly hunched over

Short dark hair, balding on top

Wearing a dark sweater and dark pants

Wearing a hearing aid in his right ear.
