(ORO-MEDONTE TOWNSHIP, ON) – This afternoon at 2:17PM, an officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed southbound in the area of Line 2, Oro-Medonte Township.
The motorcycle continued southbound and became involved in a motor vehicle collision with a police vehicle just south of the intersection of Line 2 and
(ORILLIA, ON) – On May 28, 2014, at approximately 2:54 a.m., the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a complaint involving a male party who was assaulted and stabbed.
Officers attended an Orillia address after receiving complaints of yelling and screaming between a male and female. When officers arrived at the location of the incident they found a male party suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The victim was transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The OPP are continuing their investigation but have arrested and charged a female with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault.
She was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Barrie tomorrow.
(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday May 27, 2014, shortly before 11 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a collision involving a tractor trailer and a car on Mitchell Rd. South in front of Erie Meats in LIstowel.
Investigation revealed that a full sized tractor trailer was south bound on Mitchell Rd (Hwy 23), when it slowed and proceeded to make a left turn. A north bound car travelling in the north bound lane of Mitchell Road was struck by the turning truck. The impact caused the car to enter the east ditch where it rolled onto its roof.
The driver of the car, a 56 year old male resident of the Municipality of North Perth sustained minimal injuries. The passenger of the car, a 66 year old male from the Municipality of North Perth sustained minor injuries. Both men were transported to local hospital for treatment. The 52 year old male driver of the transport truck, a Brampton resident was uninjured.
The driver of the transport truck has been charged with “turn not in safetyâ€Â.
Traffic was routed around the collision scene by means of a single lane for approximately an hour until the debris and damaged vehicles were removed from the roadway.
(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 22 year old male with a number of Criminal Code offences after investigating a crime spree in Cayuga, Haldimand County, ON.
Over the past week a number of homes in the Cayuga area had been entered through unlocked doors or windows. Once inside the residence small quantities of cash and jewellery was located and removed.
As a result of the Police investigation 22 year old Michael WEBBER of Ingersoll, ON has been charged with 12 counts of Break, Enter a dwelling house – commit indictable offence and 1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 dollars. He is to appear in Provincial Court, Cayuga, ON at a later date to answer to the charges.
(NAPANEE, ON)- On May 27th at 4:54 p.m. an officer with the Napanee Detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 in the eastbound lanes in the area of Deseronto Rd, TyendinagaTwp.
It was reported that a red Ford Mustang convertible with a black top was travelling a high rate of speed.
The vehicle, was stopped and the driver was charged with stunt driving. He was issued a seven day drivers licence suspension and his vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
The vehicle driver, 32 year old Joanny PORTILLOMARTINEZof Oakville, Ontario was released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Napanee on July 3rd at 09:30 a.m.
(Napanee, ON) On May 27th at 10:14 a.m. an officer with the Napanee OPP stopped a grey Honda Civic on Highway 401 in the eastbound lanes by Deseronto Rd. The vehicle was stopped for Stunt Driving. The driver of the vehicle was found to be in breach of a court order.
The vehicle driver, 32 year old Marlon ELLIS of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences;
Adult fail to Comply with a Court Order
Obstruct a Peace Officer, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and
Race a Motor Vehicle
Adult Possess more than one Ontario Drivers Licencee
Fail to Stop on Right for an Emergency Vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic
ELLIS was held in custody and is to appear in Napanee Court for a Bail Hearing on the 28th May 2014.
(NAPANEE, ON)- On May 26th at 2:32 p.m. an officer with the Napanee Detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 in the westbound lanes in the area of Palace Rd, Greater Napanee.
It was reported that a red Dodge Charger was passing motorists on the left of the road, outside of the marked passing lane.
The officer intercepted the vehicle travelling over 50 km per hour above the posted 100 km per hour speed limit.
The vehicle, red Dodge Charger with Texas licence plates , was stopped and the driver was charged with stunt driving. He was issued a seven day drivers licence suspension and his vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
The vehicle driver, 33 year old Fumiaki KAMIYA of Tokyo Japan was released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Napanee.
(Collingwood/The Blue Mountains, ON.) The Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received financial sponsorship for the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program (D.A.R.E.) in the amount of $2,000.00 from the Collingwood Optimist Club.
The Collingwood Optimist Club has been supporting the program since 1998. The program is delivered to Grade 6 students in elementary schools within the Towns of Collingwood and Thornbury.
The program helps youth make safe and responsible choices. They use skills that will assist them in making responsible decisions and resisting behaviours that would be harmful to their health, such as using drugs. They are introduced to the D.A.R.E. Decision Making Model that assists them in problem solving and helps them to make wise decisions for their future. At the end of the program students complete and present an essay about their own experience in D.A.R.E. and how they plan to use what they have learned to help them make safe and responsible choices
The D.A.R.E. Program is a community partnership program between the Police, Schools, Parents and community sponsors.

(Seeley’s Bay, ON.) – On the 23rd of May 2014, officers from Leeds and the Thousand Islands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were called to a break and enter at a residence in Seeley’s Bay, in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township.
In the early morning of 23 May 2014, a forced entry was made into a residence in Seeley’s Bay by three individuals. While inside one of the residents was assaulted. OPP and Kingston Police Service attended and one male was arrested at the scene. The two remaining individuals were later arrested with the assistance of the Gananoque Police Service.
Tyler Gill, 24 years old from Augusta Township, a 17 year old female from Gananoque, and a 17 year old male from Gananoque all face charges of Break and Enter, and Assault with a Weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. All remain in custody pending an appearance at Ontario Court of Justice Provincial Division – Brockville.
The investigation continues by members of the Leeds County OPP Crime Unit.

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Tuesday, May 28, 2014 a Township of Chatsworth resident received a phone call from an unknown person stating they were affiliated with a police organization and were seeking donations for an anti-bullying campaign.
The complainant did not disclose any personal or financial information to the caller. She did, however, call Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a possible fraud.
The phone number that appeared on the complainant’s call display was 647-847-1061.
This phone number is associated to several other fraud complaints in Southwestern Ontario. When an officer called the number, a recorded bi-lingual message tells the caller that they have reached the “Customer Care Line of the Community Police Associationâ€Â. The message goes on to say that they are looking for support for upcoming programs and to leave your name and contact information.
The OPP wish to remind the public to never give out your personal, credit card or online account details over the phone unless you made the call yourself, and the phone number came from a trusted source.
Scammers can try to pressure you to give a donation and refuse to provide details about the charity, such as their address or their contact details. In some cases, they may provide false information. Simply hang up the phone.
On May 28, 2014 at 7:30 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Huron Street area to investigate the complaint of threats and animal cruelty. Witnesses allege that two men were walking dogs when one of them picked up his dog with both hands around its neck, lifted and shook it. A male confronted him and was threatened. Police were called and an arrest was made. There is no report of any injury to the dog.
Matthew McMullen, 28 years of Guelph has been charged with uttering threats and cause unnecessary suffering to animals. He will appear in court on July 11, 2014.
On May 28, 2014 at 5:55 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Whitelaw Road residence to investigate a break and enter. A side door was damaged to gain entry. There is no theft reported.

On May 29, 2014 at 12:53 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Silvercreek Parkway. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested. The male was then transported to the station to provide breath samples.
Marcus DRISCOLL, 28 years of Moorefield has been charged with fail to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on June 11, 2014.
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a youth in connection with a break and enter earlier this week.
As previously reported, sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered a business on Fourth Street. Once inside the suspect(s) stole cash and equipment valued at $1000.
Through investigation, police identified the youth responsible. Officers located the youth yesterday afternoon on Wellington Street and he was arrested.
The 16-year-old Chatham youth has been charged with break and enter. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
