(BURK’S FALLS, ON) On Thursday, June 12, 2014 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of gas from the Burk’s Falls Shell. At 8:50 a.m., a male attended the Shell station and put $50 worth of gas into a beige GMC Envoy before leaving the station without paying for it.
OPP through their investigation was able to determine that the vehicle was stolen from a taxi company in Sudbury, Ontario earlier that day. OPP are looking for a male Caucasian, between 18-20 years, clean cut and was wearing camouflage pajama pants and a white sweater at the time.

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Sunday, June 15, 2014 at approximately 3:28 a.m., a concerned citizen contacted the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) after witnessing a taxi driver of a local cab company consuming alcohol at a house party in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Police observed the suspect vehicle, a red 2007 Toyota, travelling eastbound on Grey Rd. 5 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. The driver, who was carrying two passengers inside the vehicle at the time, was found to have been drinking alcohol and was subsequently given a road side breath test, which he failed. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. The taxi was towed and another taxi attended the scene to transport the passengers to their destination.
The accused was transported to the Chatsworth Detachment for further breath tests which concluded he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
Matthew John KIRK, 29, of Owen Sound, was charged with impaired/over 80 milligrams and is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, July 10, 2014.
(Grand Valley, ON.) -On Monday June 9th 2014 at 8:40 pm Dufferin OPP received a theft complaint .
Preliminary investigation revealed a female victim from Grand Valley received phone call from an unknown male looking to buy jewellery.
The victim agreed to meet the suspect at her residence. Once there she brought him up to her bedroom to show him her the jewellery that she had available. The male suspect bought jewellery and coins from the victim.
While in bedroom the male suspect then stole several pieces of expensive jewellery without knowledge of victim.
The suspect was referred to victim by friend.
These types of crime are not new, and are very often preventable through community engagement; empowering communities to play an active role in crime reduction initiatives.
Police are reminding residents to contact the OPP Communications Centre immediately at 1-888-310-1122 to report any suspicious activity or suspicious vehicles in the area. Information such as suspect physical descriptions, suspect vehicles and direction of travel are useful tools for investigators.
Police also remind residents to be cautious in answering door at their residence and letting strangers into residence without adult family members present.

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Saturday, June 14, 2014 at approximately 10:42 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver operating a blue Chevrolet Impala vehicle in the Williamsford area, in the Township of Chatsworth.
At approximately 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, June 15th, police observed the suspect vehicle travelling southbound on Hwy. 6. The vehicle was observed swerving on the roadway and the brake lights applied multiple times. The vehicle turned onto Centre Street in Williamsford at which time it was stopped by police, who found the lone driver slumped over into the passenger seat in an effort to conceal himself. The driver, who was known to police, had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle as well as for driving a motor vehicle while disqualified. An open part bottle of beer was seized from the vehicle.
The driver was transported to the Chatsworth Detachment where he refused/failed to provide a sample of his breath.
Bradley Allan ALBRIGHT, 50, of the Township of Chatsworth was charged with impaired driving, driving while disqualified and failing or refusing to provide breath sample. He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available under the Liquor Licence Act.
The accused is to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, July 10, 2014.
PAINT SPLATTERED ON GREY RD. 18
(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Friday, June 13, 2014 at approximately 7:44 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a mischief report. A motorist attended the Chatsworth Detachment reporting that his 2013 GMC pick-up truck was damaged after he had driven the vehicle through orange paint on Grey Rd. 18, approximately 1.5 km east of Rockford, in the Municipality of Meaford.
Investigation revealed that sometime between 5:00 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on June 13th, someone had thrown a glass jar containing bright orange paint onto the east bound lane of Grey Rd. 18. The jar smashed, causing the paint to splatter over the road, leaving not only the paint, but broken glass as well.
Several vehicles had driven through the orange paint, causing paint splatter to the under carriage of the vehicles, the sides and wheels.
Police believe this act of mischief was planned and deliberate, as a similar incident involving red paint occurred in the same vicinity just over a year ago.

(WALKERTON, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating three daylight break ins reported on June 11, 2014. Sometime between 10:00 am on June 11, 2014 and 12:00 pm on June 11, 2014, a home in the 400 block of McNab Street in Walkerton was entered. Items in the home were moved, but there are no items reported stolen at this time.
Two break ins were reported on Johnstone Boulevard in Walkerton during the same time frame. At one home, a quantity of jewellery including gold ear rings, gold chains, engagement ring, wedding rings and watches were taken. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be more than $1,000.
At the other Johnstone Boulevard home, jewellery was also reported stolen. A quantity of gold chains was taken that are valued at more than $200.
Residents are encouraged to report suspicious vehicles or suspicious people to police.

On Friday June 13, 2014 members of the West Grey Police Service attended at a residence in the former Bentinck township for a disturbance.
Upon arrival an off duty police officer and a Bentinck township resident had detained a male who had assaulted a 63 year old female neighbour.
The female was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Durham and then air lifted and admitted to Victoria hospital in London for treatment.
Jerry Brown age 41 of West Grey has been charged with Attempted Murder, Break Enter and Commit, Breach of Probation and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
He has been held for a bail hearing and will be appearing in Walkerton court on Monday June 16, 2014.
The name of the victim is being withheld at the request of family.
Saugeen Shores Police Service is investigating a Robbery that occurred at the Macs Convenience Store on Goderich Street in Port Elgin.
At approximately 12:40am on June 16, 2014 a male person attended at the convenience store and demanded money. The male pointed his arm at the clerk and appeared holding a weapon. He also indicated that he had a bomb.
Cash and coins were handed over to the person and he fled from the store.
The incident was reported to police and within a few minutes a police officer on patrol observed the suspect in the area and made an arrest.
Some of the stolen cash was recovered from the suspect.
The disguise and weapon have not been recovered. The disguise is described as a red plaid material with duct tape. The weapon may also be wrapped in red plaid cloth.
The accused was arrested in the area of Elgin and Stafford Streets in Port Elgin.
Saugeen Shores police have a male, age 19, from Tara, ON in custody. He will be appearing in Walkerton Court on June 16, 2014 for a Bail Hearing.
Residents in the areas east and west of the downtown core area of Port Elgin are requested to observe for suspicious material or items matching the disguise and weapon description. In August 2013 the Saugeen Shores Police received a call to attend the Port Elgin flea market in regards to a male who had been using his cell phone to capture close-up photos of young girl’s buttocks and genital area. Police attended the beach area and located a male who matched the description given by the complainant. The male was observed holding his cell phone at waist height while following two young females. The male was identified as Christopher MARQUIS 27 years of Owen Sound and immediately arrested for the offence of Voyeurism. His cell phone was subsequently seized as evidence.
The Saugeen Shores Police services have continued and are continuing to investigate this incident. The Saugeen Shores Police service has seized many computers, cell phones and other electronic devices. With the assistance of the Guelph Police Service Tech Crimes the seized property was forensically examined and as a result all files, including deleted files, were retrieved.
The Saugeen Shores Police have executed 6 search warrants and numerous interviews and as a result Christopher MARQUIS has been charged with the following 17 offences
8 counts of Voyeurism – Sc. 162(1)(c)
4 counts of Possession of Child Pornography – Sc. 163.1(4)
2 counts of Making Child Pornography – Sc. 163.1(2) CC
2 counts of Luring a Child – Sc. 172.1(1)(a) CC
1 count of Sexual Assault – Sc. 271 CC

On April 4, 2014 the Saugeen Shores Police received information in relation to the offence of Luring a Child contrary to section 172.1(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada. The Saugeen Shores Police have conducted many interviews and executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant. As a result Police have identified 7 victims under the age of 18.
The Saugeen Shores Police have arrested and charged Tyler SCHWASS, 20 years from Saugeen Shores with 7 counts of Luring a Child contrary to section 172.1(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada.

On June 16, 2014 at 1:45 p.m. Waterloo Regional Police and the Ministry of Labour responded to a work place accident at a construction site located Fountain Street and Highway 401 in the City of Cambridge. Two employees were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the boom truck they were operating came in contact with a live overhead power line. One employee sustained electrical shock injuries that required treatment at the hospital. The other employee was taken to hospital as a precaution. The scene was held by police until an inspector from the Ministry of Labour responded. Police have concluded their investigation. Any further investigation will be conducted by the Ministry of Labour

On June 16, 2014 Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 60 year old male in the Donnenwerth Drive vicinity of Kitchener for three counts of sexual assault. The charges were the result of an ongoing investigation that began following a complaint thaton June 13, 2014, a male had approached a female walking in the area and touched her inappropriately. During the investigation, other victims came forward and identified the male as being responsible for sexual assaults against them as well dating back to the spring of 2012. In the early morning hours of June 17, 2014, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Kitchener home. One adult male and two adult females, all Kitchener residents, were arrested in connection with the search. One of the females was released unconditionally, but the male and female residents of the home were remanded in police custody. They are scheduled to attend a show cause hearing on June 17, 2014 to answer to numerous drug-related charges. A large quantity of crystal methamphetamine and Canadian currency was seized by police during the investigation.
