On June 18, 2014, just before 10pm, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 43 year old Cambridge male in connection to an investigation into commercial property break and enters in the city of Cambridge. The male has been charged with three counts of break, enter and committ, breach of probation and trafficking in stolen goods and held for show cause. Property taken from the break and enters was recovered and the investigation is continuing.

FIRE

Location: BENJAMIN RD, WOOLWICH, ON Canada
On June 17, 2014, just after 6:30pm, emergency services responded to a rural property on Benjamin Road in Woolwich Twp for a barn fire. The fire was extinguished and no one was injured. Property damage is estimated at approximately $250,000. The fire is not considered suspicious and remains under investigation by Woolwich Fire.

Vehicles entered, arrest made

On June 19, 2014 at 3:28 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the area of Kron Drive to investigate the report of youths going through vehicles. Police were able to locate the group and an arrest was made.

A 15 year old Guelph male has been charged with breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

Break and enter

On June 18, 2014, the Guelph Police went to an Elora Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a side window. The theft of computers is reported.

Aaron FLEET – Drunk Driving

On June 18, 2014 at 2:58 p.m., the Guelph Police were advised of a motor vehicle driving on Speedvale Avenue with only one front tire. The vehicle was located at Woodlawn Road and Nicklin Road. Police investigation determined that the male driver was impaired and he was arrested.

Aaron FLEET, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on July 8, 2014.

Two people charged with Possession of Stolen Property

The Chatham-Kent Police Service has arrested a female driver and a male passenger after a patrol officer observed a stolen vehicle in the area of Baldoon Road in Chatham.

The vehicle stopped when the driver saw police and the male passenger fled from the vehicle on foot. The driver, a 28 year old female from Chatham, was arrested at the scene. Chatham-Kent Police K-9 attended and a short while later the passenger was located hiding in a car port about one block from the vehicle. The passenger, a 26 year old male from Chatham was also arrested.

Both persons were charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 and transported to Police HQ. Both were later released with a future court date.

Man arrested for shoplifting

The Chatham-Kent Police Service have arrested a Chatham man in relation to a Shoplifting complaint that occurred at a local retailer.

The male was observed to steal some sausages and leave the store without paying. Officers attended and recognized the male suspect on the video. Shortly afterwards the male was located and arrested for the theft and outstanding warrants issued by London Police. The male was transported to Police HQ and held for a bail hearing.

The 32 year old man was charged with Theft under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property under $5000, and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

Break and Enter in Chatham

The Chatham-Kent Police are looking for information regarding a break and enter that occurred in the early morning.

The complainant reports at about 1:20 a.m. a male party was observed leaving the area of the Thames street home on a bike. It appears the suspect entered the home while the resident was there and removed a purse. The investigation is continuing.

Domestic Assault

Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2014 – 8:00am
Barrie Police were called to a south end residence for a domestic assault in progress.

Police arrived and spoke with a 37 year old female who had a bloody nose and several bruises on her arms.

The suspect was an intoxicated 61 year old male who was also on a recognizance that prohibits him from consuming alcohol.

He was arrested for domestic assault and failing to comply with his recognizance. He was transported to the Barrie Police Service where he was held for a bail hearing.

The victim sustained minor injuries and sought her own medical attention.

Ottawa man charged with Human Trafficking offences

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Human Trafficking Unit has arrested and charged Ricardo SPENCE, 31 year old of Ottawa with Human Trafficking related offences.

On Tuesday, June 17, 2014, SPENCE was arrested by the R.O.P.E. (Repeat Offender Provincial Enforcement); and he was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Wednesday, June 18th. The Human Trafficking charges stem from a complaint last September and the Ottawa Police had issued a warrant for his arrest on September 18th.

SPENCE is charged with the following:

Trafficking in Persons by Exercising Control

Financial / Material Benefit

Withholding Documents

Forcible Confinement

Assault

Assault with Weapon or Imitation Weapon

Uttering Threats / Death or Bodily Harm

Failure to Comply / Condition of Undertaking to Officer

It is believed that there could be other victims and the Human Trafficking investigators are urging them to come forward.

2014 LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On Thursday, June 19, 2014, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Strathroy Caradoc Police Service (SCPS) will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario.

The Middlesex County OPP/SCPS Torch Run is scheduled to start at approximately 11:00 a.m. from the Middlesex County OPP Strathroy Detachment on Centre Road in Adelaide Metcalfe, ON. The run will proceed south on Centre Road, south on Caradoc Street North, east on Bella Street, and south on Frances Street, concluding at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Strathroy Caradoc Police Service Headquarters on Frances Street in Strathroy, ON.

There may be temporary traffic delays in the area at that time. The Middlesex County OPP and Strathroy Caradoc Police Service appreciate the communities’ patience and support.

Location: OTTAWA ST S, KITCHENER, ON Canada
On Tuesday June 17, 2014 at 3:19pm Waterloo Regional Police and Kitchener Fire reponded to 50 Ottawa St South Kitchener in regard to a fire. The building was evacuated and nearby streets were closed. The fire was extinguished quickly and was found to be confined to a small space. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical and not suspicious in nature. There was little damage caused by the fire and no businesses inside the building are believed to be affected.

Theft from cars

On June 17, 2014 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents reporting thefts from their cars. The locations were Verney Street and Cox Court.
