Caroline HUMPHREY – Drunk Driving

(TECUMSEH, ON) – On August 30, 2025, at approximately 7:50p.m., a member of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 3 near Sexton Sideroad in the Town of Tecumseh.

The officer observed a vehicle travelling at a speed of 125 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone, activated emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol.

As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

Caroline HUMPHREY, 29-years-old, of Windsor, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Dangerous Operation.

The accused is scheduled to appear on September 10, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to answer to the charges.

A 90-day administrative drivers licence suspension and 7-day vehicle impoundment were issued as per statute.

Jody SINCLAIR – Theft

(TECUMSEH, ON)- An individual was charged following a shoplifting investigation in Tecumseh.

At approximately 7:49 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, members from the Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded to a report of a shoplifting incident at a business in the 400 block of Manning Road in the Town of Tecumseh.

The investigation determined that an individual entered a business, concealed merchandise, and exited without making payment. When officers arrived on scene, the individual attempted to flee on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the individual was taken into custody.

57-year-old Jody SINCLAIR from Windsor, has been charged with the following alleged offence:

·        Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on September 12, 2025.

Kyle DROUILLARD Was Arrested

(TECUMSEH, ON) – One person has been charged following a traffic stop in Tecumseh.

On June 27, 2025, at approximately 1:44 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Tecumseh Road East in the Town of Tecumseh.

Kyle DROUILLARD, 21-years-old of Lasalle, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Failure of refusal to comply with demand
  • Red Light – Fail to Stop
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Young driver – B.A.C. above zero

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on July 15, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Aggravated Assault – David BAILLARGEON

(TECUMSEH, ON)- Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment with the assistance of the Essex County OPP Crime Unit is investigating an assault in the Town of Tecumseh.

On June 29, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the report of an assault on Arlington Boulevard near Hayes Avenue in Tecumseh. The victim sustained injuries that required hospitalization. 

As a result, David BAILLARGEON, 56 years of age of Windsor, has been charged with:

·      Aggravated Assault

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice -Windsor on August 5, 2025.

Essex County OPP is continuing to investigate the incident and is seeking the public’s assistance. Anyone who may have been in the area of Arlington Boulevard and Hayes Avenue between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on June 29th, that has dashcam or anyone in the area who has home surveillance is being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.

Jacob CANTY Was Arrested

(TECUMSEH, ON)-On Sunday June 22, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m., a member of the Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was on patrol along Riverside Drive when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol.  The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment.

 As a result, Jacob CANTY, 38-years-of-age of Tecumseh has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drug

·      Operation while Impaired – 80 plus 

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 8, 2025.

Ludovit VRBJAR – Drunk Driving

(TECUMSEH, ON)- An individual from Windsor, Ontario is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a vehicle stop that had occurred on Lesperance Road, in the Town of Tecumseh.

On Friday June 20, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., the Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Lesperance Road. Officers were speaking to the driver and determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment.

 As a result, Ludovit VRBJAR, 47-years-old, of Windsor, is charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – 80 plus 

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 4, 2025.

Brittany MEDEIROS – Break & Enter, Meth

(TECUMSEH, ON)- Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Tecumseh Detachment responded to a call from a concerned citizen about a suspected break and enter in the Town of Tecumseh.

On June 20, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m., members of Tecumseh OPP were dispatched to a suspected break and enter on Centennial Drive in Tecumseh.

When an officer arrived on scene, they located a person matching the description, the individual attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, Brittany MEDEIROS a 34- years of age of Windsor was arrested and charged with the following offences:

·      Break and Enter – Place, with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence

·      Resist Peace Officer

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 23, 2025.

Armed Robbery – Luke LACHANCE Arrested

(TECUMSEH, ON)- The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex County Crime Unit has identified and arrested an individual in relation to two robberies That occurred in Tecumseh.

On Sunday May 4, 2025, at approximately 11:38 p.m., a male armed with a knife a wearing a black mask which fully covered his face entered a store in the 12000 block of Tecumseh Road in the Town of Tecumseh. The male demanded cash and cigarettes then fled the store with an unknown quantity of cash and five packages of cigarettes.

On Sunday May 5, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a male armed with a knife a wearing a black mask which fully covered his face entered a store in the 3000 block of Manning Road in the Town of Tecumseh. The male demanded cash and cigarettes then fled the store with an unknown quantity of cash and five packages of cigarettes.

There were no injuries in either incident.

As a result of the investigation, on June 6, 2025, Luke LACHANCE, 37 years-of-age of Windsor was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Robbery with Weapon (Two Counts)

·        Disguise with Intent (Two Counts)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

$100,000 Fraud – Peter MCLEOD Arrested

(TECUMSEH, ON) – The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual after a substantial fraud investigation.

On February 2, 2024, an individual entered a bank on Tecumseh Road in the Town of Tecumseh and deposited a cheque for over $100,000. The money was then withdrawn prior to the banking establishment noticing the cheque was fraudulent.

A lengthy investigation was conducted by the Essex County OPP, Essex County OPP Major Crime Unit, Elgin OPP Major Crime Unit, Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC), OPP Anti-Rackets Branch – Economical Crimes and Corruption Unit (Ottawa), the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) and the Elgin OPP Warrant Apprehension Team.

Peter MCLEOD 43-years-old of Woodstock was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Make False Statement in Writing
  • Fraud Over $5000
  • Use, deals, acts on forged document
  • Laundering Proceeds of Crime – did use – commision in Canada
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
  • Possession of article stolen from mail

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on May 29, 2025, to speak to the charges.

(TECUMSEH, ON) – One person has been charged following a single motor vehicle collision in Lakeshore.

On February 20, 2025, at approximately 7:06 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Walker Road in the Municipality of Tecumseh. 

Manjinderjit SINGH, 47-years-old of Tecumseh, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code Liquor Licence and Control Act offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand

• Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on February 28, 2025, to answer to the charges.

(TECUMSEH, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic complaint in Tecumseh.

On February 15, 2025, at approximately 2:04 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on Manning Road in the Town of Tecumseh. 

Ran MAHAT, 33-years-old of Lakeshore, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on February 26, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Attempted Murder – 51 Year Old Arrested

(TECUMSEH, ON) The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual following a report of a disturbance in Tecumseh.

On January 2, 2025, at approximately 2:51 a.m., Essex County OPP members received a report of a disturbance at a residence on 10th Concession Road, Town of Tecumseh.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew Robert BREWIN, 51-year-old of Tecumseh, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

·        Attempt to Commit Murder

·        Assault with A Weapon

·        Intimidation – use or threatens use of violence

·        Theft Under $5000

·        Breach of Recognizance

The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

The accused and two victims were treated at hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Jeffrey RIVAIT – Drunk Driving

(TECUMSEH, ON) – On November 11, 2024, at approximately 12:09 a.m., Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Riverside Driver at Manning Road in the Town of Tecumseh.

Officers arrived on scene to find a vehicle with the driver.

As a result of the investigation, Jeffrey RIVAIT, 46-years-of age from Tecumseh was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice Windsor, on November 29, 2024.

Chelsea CASCADDEN – Drunk Driving

(TECUMSEH, ON) – Driver charged with impaired operation after vehicle leaves road and enters ditch.

On November 2, 2024, at 7:18 p.m., a member of the Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), was conducting traffic enforcement on North Talbot Road and 9th Concession Road in the Town of Tecumseh when a single motor vehicle drove off the roadway.

The officer checked on the condition of the driver, determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was arrested and transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Chelsea CASCADDEN a 32-year-old of Essex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor to speak to the charges on November 12, 2024.

The driver was not injured.

Drug & Weapons Bust

(TECUMSEH, ON) – Two individuals are facing numerous firearm and drug-related charges after a search warrant was executed in Tecumseh.

In July 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) began an investigation into the trafficking of cocaine and opioids in Essex County. On September 24, 2024, a search warrant was executed in Tecumseh by OPP OCEB and Essex County OPP Community Street Crime Unit.

As a result of this investigation, officers seized:

  • four handguns, one of which was loaded  
  • a conducted energy weapon
  • suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $20,000
  • approximately 5,700 oxycodone tablets
  • $120,000 in Canadian currency

Refaat FARRIS, age 47 of Tecumseh, has been charged with the following 30 offences under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):

  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – four counts
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – four counts
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose – four counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – four counts
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm – four counts
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition – four counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) – two counts
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (opioid) – two counts

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on October 1, 2024.

Khadije FARRIS, age 69 of Tecumseh, has been charged with the following 26 offences under the CCandCDSA:

  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – four counts
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose – four counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – four counts
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm – four counts
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition – four counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) – two counts
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (opioid) – two counts

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on November 27, 2024.
