Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – A motorcycle rider has died from their injuries following a collision in South Glengarry Township.

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m., members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene on County Road 2 near Brodeur Road in the Camerons Point area.

A motorcycle had left the road, and the rider was found in the ditch with serious injuries. The 23-year-old male from Quebec was transported to hospital by Cornwall SDG Paramedics and was then transferred to a regional trauma centre.

Witnesses have indicated that a car, described as a black Honda Civic or Accord, had been seen being driven dangerously in the area at the time of the crash. It’s not known if this vehicle was involved in the collision.

Investigators want to hear from witnesses or anyone with potentially relevant dashcam video, who has not spoken to officers. One Dead – Gabriel AUMAIS Arrested

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – Charges have been laid in relation to a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and SUV that left one person deceased and another with serious injuries.

On Saturday, June 21, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a serious collision on Chapel Road near County Road 18 in South Glengarry Township. A motorcycle carrying two people was struck by an SUV.

The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old male from Martintown in South Glengarry. His 14-year-old son sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.

As a result of the investigation, Gabriel AUMAIS, age 30 from La Prairie, Quebec, has been charged with:

  • Operation causing death
  • Operation causing bodily harm
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol (80 plus)

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Provincial Court of Justice in Cornwall on Monday, June 23, 2025.

95 Year Old Found Deceased Following Fire

(SOUTH GLENGARRY, ON) – The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a residential fire.

On Monday, May 19, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers, along with the South Glengarry Fire Department, responded to a residential fire on Fourth Line Road in South Glengarry Township. The home was fully engulfed when first responders arrived.    

A 73-year-old male was able to escape with minor injuries. A 95-year-old female was located deceased inside the residence.

The fire remains under investigation by the SD&G OPP Crime Unit and the office of the Ontario Fire Marshal. The OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit is assisting.

Kerby DANIELS – Theft, Trafficking, Etc.

(SOUTH GLENGARRY, ON) – Members of the Stormont, Dundas (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered a stolen vehicle on Highway 401.

On, April 1, 2025, shortly before 11:00 a.m., officers from SD&G OPP, located the vehicle on the highway in South Glengarry Township. The 2025 Jeep Wrangler had been reported stolen from Peel Region.

A tire deflation device (spike belt) was successfully utilized, and driver was arrested.

Kerby DANIELS, 23-years-old from St-Hubert, Quebec was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Fail to stop for police
  • Trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000
  • Possession of device for purpose of committing theft
  • Fail to surrender a driver’s licence

The accused was held in custody and will appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Fatal Collision

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision in South Glengarry Township.

On March 25, 2025, shortly after 6:00 a.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on County Road-25 in the South Glengarry Township. A 61-year-old male driver from South Glengarry was pronounced deceased at scene.

The SD&G OPP continues to investigate, with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and a Collision Reconstructionist.

19 Year Old Arrested Following Hit & Run

(SOUTH GLENGARRY, ON) – A 19-year-old faces numerous charges after a single vehicle collision in South Glengarry Township.

On March 16, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m., members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash on Street Road.  

Nathan QUESNEL, age 19 of South Glengarry, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Fail to remain
  • Fail to report an accident
  • Dail to surrender licence
  • Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of justice in Cornwall at a later date.

Stolen Vehicles Recovered – Ghislain GALLANT Arrested

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – A resident of Saint-Hubert, Quebec has been charged after stolen vehicles were found in a sea container on eastbound Highway 401.

Officers from the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) were conducting an inspection just before 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Curry Hills Scales, east of Cornwall, when they made the discovery. Members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene.

The two vehicles in the sea can had been reported stolen in Greater Toronto area.

As a result of the investigation, Ghislain GALLANT, age 63, has been charged with

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – two counts
  • Trafficking in stolen good over $5000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 7, 2025.

Alfa Boubacar BAH Was Arrested

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has now laid charges in connection with an incident in which the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) invoked its mandate.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, shortly after 10:30 a.m., officers from SD&G OPP were alerted to a stolen vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401, near Cornwall. During the incident, the vehicle exited at 4th Line Road, entered a ditch and rolled. The driver was taken into custody and transported to hospital. The individual has since been released from hospital but remains in police custody.

As a result of the investigation, Alfa Boubacar BAH, age 18 of Longueuil, Quebec, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000

The accused is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on Monday, March 17, 2025.

3 Dead In Collision

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP, ON) – A head-on collision east of Cornwall has left three people deceased.

It happened on Thursday, March 13, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m. Officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Detachment (SD&G) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), local RCMP officers and other first responders were called to the collision on County Road 2, near McGibbon Road

The initial investigation has determined that an eastbound vehicle had crossed into the westbound lane of the roadway, forcing at least two drivers to take evasive action. Moments later a head-on collision was reported, with one of the vehicles catching fire.

The lone occupant of the eastbound car, and the driver and one passenger in the westbound vehicle, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Another passenger from the westbound vehicle was transported to a regional trauma centre by Air Ornge. Their injuries were considered serious.

The decease have been identified as a 16-year-old female from Champlain Township, a 65-year-old female from Cornwall and a 44-year-old male from Ottawa. The injured male is a 16-year-old from Cornwall.

OPP Collision Reconstructionists and Technical Collision Investigation Team members have completed the on-scene investigation and County Road 2 has been reopened.

Police Vehicle Involved In Collision – One Arrested

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have now laid charges in connection with a collision involving a police vehicle.

On March 4, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers from SD&G attempted to stop a stolen vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401. The vehicle avoided a spike belt on the highway near Fraser Road in South Glengarry Township and subsequently struck a stationary police vehicle before entering the ditch.

The lone occupant of the stolen vehicle remains in police custody after being released from the hospital. Two officers were also transported to the hospital for assessment.

Jean Samual NGUE, age 19 of Montreal has been charged with:

  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Fail to stop for police
  • Dangerous operation
  • Careless driving
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Failure to comply with release order – two counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order – four counts
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts
  • Fail to properly wear seat belt

The accused was remanded into custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to make another court appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Cory READ Was Arrested

(SOUTH ELMSLEY, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Emlsley Township resident with impaired driving.

 Officers conducted a traffic stop of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Rideau Ferry Road at Bass Lake Road, in South Elmsley Township on Sunday, February 23, 2025, shortly after 8:00 p.m.

As a result of the investigation, the officer arrested the driver and transported the individual to the detachment in Perth for testing.

Cory READ age 44 of South Elmsley Township, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while prohibited

• Drive under suspension – Highway Traffic Act

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 24, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension), and vehicle has been impounded for 45 days.

2 Home Invaders Shot To Death: No Charges #StandYourGround #TCB

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate a home invasion in South Glengarry Township which left two people deceased.

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment responded to a home on Old Highway 2. It was reported that the incident began as a home invasion by three males. Two people had been shot and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased individuals have now been identified as Eddie ALOBHOUET, age 19 and Tristan SIMARD, age 18. Both were residents of St. Jerome, Quebec.

Efforts continue to identify a third individual who had fled the scene.

The residents of the home were not injured in the incident. They were initially taken into custody at the scene but were later released unconditionally. Several items, including firearms, were seized from the residence.

There is no threat to public safety as the incident is believed to be targeted.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the SD&G OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Deadly Home Invasion Attempt – 2 Dead #TCOB #StandYourGround

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an incident at a residence in South Glengarry Township that left two people deceased.

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) OPP responded to an incident that began as a home invasion at a residence on Old Highway 2, where two people suffered gunshot wounds. The residents of the home were not injured in the incident.

When officers arrived, two men were located deceased in the residence. A third individual had fled the scene prior to police arrival. An extensive search of the area was conducted by the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit and OPP Canine Unit. It is believed the individual may have left the area.

Two people were taken into custody at the scene and a firearm was seized.

There is no threat to public safety as the incident is believed to be targeted. Residents of the area should expect to see a large police presence for the ongoing investigation.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(SOUTH GLENGARRY, ON) – The Stormont Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two motorists with impaired driving.

On January 11, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m., SD&G officers observed a motor vehicle unable to maintain it’s lane on Highway 401 in the South Glengarry Township. Further Investigation led to the driver being arrested.       

Megan POUPORE, aged 30, of Massena, New York was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 6, 2025.

(SOUTH STORMONT, ON) – On January 12, 2025, shortly before 7:00 p.m., SD&G officers responded to a single collision on Simcoe Street in South Stormont Township.  

Courtney BROCKETT, aged 32, of South Stormont Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 6, 2025.

Shawn FILIOU – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH GLENGARRY, ON) – The Stormont Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a motorist with impaired driving.

On November 30, 2024, shortly before 7:00 p.m., SD&G officers received information of an erratic driver on highway 401 in South Glengarry Township. Officers located the vehicle and further Investigation led to the driver being arrested.       

Shawn FILIOU, age 38, of Gatineau, Quebec was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on January 14, 2025.

The OPP reminds the public that a 90-day automatic drivers licence suspension and a seven-day impoundment of your vehicle accompanies any impaired driving charge.
