Meth Bust – Eric O’NEIL

(SOUTH DUNDAS TWP., ON) – Two people are facing drug trafficking and other charges after the seizure of dangerous, illegal drugs in South Dundas Township.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation in March into drug trafficking in the area.

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, members of the Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit and the Tactics and Rescue Unit, as well as officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Detachment, executed a search warrant at a residence and property on Hanesville Road.

Officers seized nearly 2.5-grams of suspected cocaine, more than nine grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, more than 100 suspected methamphetamine (speed) tablets and over 50 codeine tablets. Officers also seized a 22-calibre rifle, various types of ammunition, a crossbow and arrows, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Eric O’NEIL, age 37 of South Dundas Township, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – two counts
  • Obstructing a peace officer

Jeffrey THOMAS, age 60 of South Dundas has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

Both accused were held in custody with a bail hearing scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Investigators are continuing the investigation, and an additional arrest is anticipated.

14 Year Old Arrested Following Stabbing

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) – One person has been charged following a serious assault in South Dundas Township.

Officers with the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a field adjacent to Van Allen Road shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025.

It had been reported that a male had been assaulted with an edged weapon.

When officers arrived, they found that a 37-year-old man had suffered stab wounds. He was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation by front-line officers and the SD&G OPP Crime Unit a 14-year-old male has been charged with:

·        Assault causing bodily harm

·        Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

·        Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose

·        Assault

The name of the accused cannot be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

There was no risk to public safety, and the victim was known to the accused.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Drug Bust – SINGH, SINGH & SINGH

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) The Stormont Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals with possession of illegal drugs.  

On April 30, 2025, shortly before 10:00 p.m., OPP officers had a stopped vehicle at a RIDE checkpoint at the 401 highway On Route in the South Dundas township. The investigation led to the seizure of suspected cocaine and heroin.

Jasanprit, SINGH, 26 years old of Etobicoke, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

Bhupinder, SINGH, 29 years old of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – two counts
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Passenger – fail to properly wear seat belt

Harmanjeet, SINGH, 25 years old of Hamilton, was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance.

All accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall at a later date.

Fatal Collision

(SOUTH DUNDAS TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a fatal, single motor vehicle collision which occurred on County Road 2 in South Dundas Township (Village of Iroquois).

On the evening of Friday, March 21st, 2025, at approximately 10:45pm a single motor was travelling Westbound on County Road 2 in the Township of South Dundas when the vehicle failed to navigate the roundabout in the Village of Iroquois, leaving the roadway and striking several objects before coming to a rest. 

Officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the South Dundas Fire Department and Cornwall SDG Paramedics responded to the collision. Life saving measures were attempted but the lone 43-year-old female occupant from Montreal, Quebec was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is being led by SD&G OPP, with assistance from the SD&G Crime Unit, OPP Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigators.

FITZGERALD Was Arrested Again

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) – A 45-year-old male from South Dundas Township is facing charges after violating his release conditions.

On February 9, 2025, shortly before 2:00 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an intoxicated male on foot, disrupting traffic on County Road 8 in South Dundas Township. Officers were also threatened during the arrest. 

Collin FITZGERALD, age 45, was charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Resist a peace officer

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Weapons Bust At RIDE

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) The Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged three individuals with possession of firearms.   

On December 5, 2024, shortly before 1:30 a.m., OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E 

(Reduce Impaired Driver Everywhere) program on county road two in the south Dundas township.  Further Investigation led to the driver and passengers being arrested.  

Quinten ROUNDPOINT age 26 of Cornwall was charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

Travis THOMPSON age 26 and Jake RICE age 25 of Akwesasne Mohawk Territory  with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition

All accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 11, 2025.

Steven MARSOLAIS – Kidnapping, Assault, Etc.

(SOUTH DUNDAS TWP, ON) – A North Grenville resident is facing serious charges after a dispute over a stolen motorcycle turned violent.

On September 10, 2024, a 30-year-old man in North Grenville was threatened, forced into a vehicle and driven to a location in South Dundas. Later that day, the victim suffered multiple stab wounds. The victim was also coerced, under threat, into committing illegal acts.

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, as a result of an extensive investigation by the SD&G and Grenville OPP Crime Units, with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team, Steven MARSOLAIS, age 39 of North Grenville, was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Kidnapping
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – two counts
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Theft under $5000

The accused was remanded into custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 20, 2024.

Investigators believe the incidents also involved two other unidentified people, a male and a female.

Fatal Collision

(South Dundas Twp, ON) – One person is deceased after a three-vehicle collision south of Winchester.

Officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), as well as the South Dundas Fire Service and Cornwall-SD&G Paramedics, responded to the scene just after 3:30 p.m. on June 27, 2024, on Bank Street, between Winchester and Williamsburg.

The collision involved two sport utility vehicles (SUV) and a transport truck.

The driver of one sport utility vehicle, a 50-year-old-man from Morrisburg, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The initial investigation has found that the transport was heading south in the southbound lane when one northbound SUV moved into the southbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the transport. The second SUV then collided with the wreckage.

The transport driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and the other SUV driver was checked-out by paramedics and had no serious injuries.

The investigation by SD&G OPP is continuing, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and the Technical Collision Investigation Team.

200 Rounds Seized During Traffic Stop

(South Dundas, ON) – Officers with the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid numerous charges after conducting a traffic stop on Highway 401.

A speeding vehicle was stopped in the early morning hours of April 22, 2024, and upon observing cannabis readily available to the driver, a search was conducted. Approximately 200-rounds of restricted handgun ammunition were found and seized.

32-year-old Joel BENJAMIN of Toronto is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order – two counts

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·      Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking

·      Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.

40-year-old Alrick ENNIS of Windsor is charged with the following Criminal Code Highway Traffic Act offences:

·      Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking

·      Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition

·      Passenger – fail to properly wear seat belt

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.

30-year-old Ashley MARTINEZ-PARSAD is charged with the following Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, Tobacco Tax Act and Cannabis Control Act offences:

·      Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking

·      Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited device or ammunition

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

·      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

·      Colour coating obscuring interior

·      Possess unmarked fine cut tobacco

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
