Nevaeh St Louis – Impaired Driving

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On October 19, 2024, at 9:51 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP received a traffic complaint of an impaired driver on Howdenvale Road in South Bruce Peninsula.

The police located the vehicle attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop, and a short time later crashed into a stationary police vehicle that was parked with its emergency lights and sirens activated. Both vehicles sustained damage, none of the occupants were injured.

Nevaeh St Louis, 19-years-old of South Bruce Peninsula was charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – BAC 80 plus

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 31, 2024.

Rahul Dhamankar – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On October 9, 2024, at 5:55 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP received a traffic complaint of an impaired driver on Highway 6 near Limberlost Road in South Bruce Peninsula.

The police located the vehicle and observed it travelling over the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation Rahul Dhamankar, 39-year-old of Mississauga was charged with the following:

·      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed

·      Speeding – 130km/h in posted 80km/h zone

·      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – BAC 80 plus

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 24, 2024.

Jimmy Wysoczanski Was Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One individual is facing charges after the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for travelling greater than the posted 80km/hr speed limit.

On September 14, 2024, at 9:12 a.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were conducting traffic enforcement utilizing the LIDAR on Highway 6 at Mar in South Bruce Peninsula. The officer observed a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed and locked it in at 133 km/hr  in an 80 km/hr zone. The officer activated their emergency lights, and the motorcycle took off at a high rate of speed. Further north there was a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program at which time the driver was stopped, identified and arrested.

Jimmy Wysoczanski, 34-years-old of Guelph was charged with:

  • Flight from peace officer
  • Dangerous operation

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 3, 2024.

The accused’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the motorcycle was impounded for 14 days.

21 Year Old Airlifted Following Collision

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One individual suffered serious injuries after a crash on Bruce Road 8 in South Bruce Peninsula. Investigators are seeking witnesses to come forward.

On August 22, 2024, at 6.49 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Bruce County Paramedic Services and the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department responded to a report of a collision involving and motor vehicle and a motorcycle on Bruce Road 8 in South Bruce Peninsula.

A 21-year-old from Owen Sound was airlifted to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

One Deceased At Sauble Beach

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One person has died following a drowning incident that occurred at Sauble Beach, South Bruce Peninsula.

On August 27, 2024, at 3:46 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Bruce County Paramedic Services and the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department responded to a report of two individuals in distress swimming in Lake Huron.

One individual was brought safely to shore. The second individual was brought to shore and lifesaving measures were performed.

As a result, a 22-year-old from Mississauga was pronounced deceased.

The identity of the victims will not be released due to privacy of the family.

The Grey Bruce OPP wants to thank all by-standers for the assistance with the rescue of these individuals.

The OPP encourages all Ontarians to take personal responsibility for ensuring water safety for themselves and their children. It is important for everyone to be aware of proper boating and swimming practices.

Repeat Offenders Arrested In Hwy 21 Drug Bust

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver and a passenger after an automated licence plate recognition system (ALPR) alert.

On August 9, 2024, at 4:25 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling on Highway 21 near Chesley Lake Road and received an ALPR alert for a suspended driver. A traffic stop was initiated. The driver who is not the owner of the vehicle had a prohibited licence. The driver of the vehicle was arrested. The vehicle was searched and a quantity of cannabis, methamphetamine, fentanyl, ecstasy was located.

Alexis Roote, 28-years-old of Saugeen Shores was charged with:

·      Operation while prohibited under the criminal code

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

·      Fail to comply with probation order

Cody Janes, 34-years-old of Huron-Kinloss was charged with:

·      Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·      Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

·      Carrying concealed weapon

·      Unauthorized possession of weapon

·      Disobeying order of court

·      Fail to comply with probation order

The accused parties were held pending a bail hearing.

Shawn Ball Arrested Again – Assault

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One individual is facing charges after the police received a call for service of an assault that occurred at a residence in South Bruce Peninsula.

On June 17, 2024, at 4:48 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault that occurred on Purple Valley Road in South Bruce Peninsula. It was reported that the victim was hit on the head and then the suspect left the area in a vehicle. Police located the individual a short time later. The victim received minor injuries.

As a result, Shawn Ball, 39-year-old from Georgian Bluffs was charged with the following:

·      Assault with a weapon

·      Failure to comply with release order

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two From Wiarton Arrested In Meth Bust

(SOUTH BRUCE PENISULA, ON) – Two individuals were charged following a drug investigation and the execution of a search warrant at a residence by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On May 1, 2024, at 5:55 am, members of Grey Bruce CSCU with assistance of the South Bruce CSCU, and the members of the Grey Bruce OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on Dawson Street in South Bruce Peninsula.

During the search officers discovered and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and psilocybin along with drug paraphernalia. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $600.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 21-year-old Matthew Nickels of Wiarton with:

  • Possession Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession Schedule I Substance – Fentanyl
  • Possession Schedule I Substance – Psilocybin

Charged with the following alleged offences is 56-year-old Timothy Moore of Wiarton with:

  • Possession Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession Schedule I Substance – Psilocybin

The accused parties were released and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on June 13, 2024.

Cat Shot To Death – Suspect At Large #HumansSuck

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On April 5, 2024, the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call that a family pet was shot with a pellet gun in South Bruce Peninsula.

Police spoke with the pet owner who advised that the family cat roams free in the town and is out from morning to night. On April 1, 2024, the pet owner noticed that the cat was not acting normal and noticed a hole in the cat’s leg. The pet owner brought the cat to the vet who determined that the cat was shot with a pellet. The cat has died from its injuries.

Police are reminding all pet owners that most Municipalities in Grey Bruce have by-laws for animals being at large. Pet owners are asked to educate themselves on their local by-laws. If you notice a nuisance animal on your property, please contact your local by-law officer. There is no reason for anyone to shoot a pet animal with a pellet gun.

More Criminals Caught On Camera – Charolette Beirnes, Jeffrey Carder & Benjamin Katzman Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – Three individuals are facing charges after they were located inside a residence on Jewel Bridge Road after breaking into it.

On March 18, 2024, at 4:42 p.m., the owner of a residence on Jewel Bridge Road observed on his security cameras three parties breaking into his residence. The OPP arrived and located three individuals on the property.

Charolette Beirnes, 49-years-old of Meaford was charged with:

·      Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence

Jeffrey Carder, 49-years-old of Meaford was charged with:

·      Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on April 11, 2024.

Benjamin Katzman, 37-years-old of Alliston was charged with:

·      Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence

·      Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

·      Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.

Police Remove Citizen From Residence For “Verbal Offence” Now Homeless #PoliceState #FilmThePolice #FTP

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On March 17, 2024, at 12:29 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in South Bruce Peninsula and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation. Police attended and determined that the incident was verbal only. One individual was removed from the residence but continued to yell and swear outside of the residence.

A 37-year-old of no fixed address was charged with:

·      Causing a disturbance

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim.

Jeffrey Parkes Facing 25 Charges – Caught On Video

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One individual is facing 25 charges when a property owner called the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report seeing a suspicious vehicle on their seasonal property through their video surveillance.

On March 6, 2025, at 3:19 a.m., a property owner called the Grey Bruce OPP to report a vehicle parked in the laneway of their vacant seasonal property on Davidson Drive in South Bruce Peninsula.

Police attended and located the driver in the driver’s seat of an idling vehicle. The driver appeared to be asleep. Officers woke the driver and while the officers were speaking to the driver; the driver was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Saugeen Shores Police Detachment for further tests by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). During a search of the vehicle OPP officers seized a large quantity of suspected fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, a firearm and a large quantity of money. Approximately street value of the drugs is $70,000.

Jeffrey Parkes, 31-year-old of no fixed address was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cocaine) X3

·      Possession of property obtained by crime Over $5000

·      Possession of property obtained by crime Under $5000

·      Knowledge of Unauthorized possession of a firearm

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a Firearm

·      Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo

·      Breach of firearms regulation – transport firearm or restricted weapon

·      Possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with

·      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order X8

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order X2

·      Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose X3

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The Grey Bruce OPP is reminding everyone to report suspicious activity to police. We would rather prevent a crime than have to deal with the consequences of crime.

Wyatt Hellyer Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver who was stopped at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check.

On February 29, 2024, at 2:41 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE check on Saule Falls Parkway in South Bruce Peninsula. A vehicle entered the RIDE check. While the officers were speaking to the driver, they were displaying signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Grey Bruce OPP Detachment for further tests by a Qualified Breath Technician along with a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

Wyatt Hellyer, 18-years-old of South Bruce Peninsula was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Possession of a schedule III substance

·      Person under 19 years – possess cannabis

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis in open baggage

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

·      Person under 19 years having liquor

·      Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available

·      Possess illegal licence

·      Young driver – B.A.C. above zero

·      Young driver – presence of drug

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on March 21, 2024.

Fatal Collision Closes Roads

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One person is deceased following a two-vehicle collision in Bruce County.

On March 2, 2024, the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Bruce Road 8 and Bruce Road 14 in South Bruce Peninsula.

One person was pronounced deceased. Two other individuals have been taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

There are road closures at Bruce Road 14 at Silver Lake Road, Bruce Road 8 at Municipal Road, Bruce Road 8 at Allenford Road, Sideroad 15 at Spring Creek Road. Please avoid the area.
