On October 7th, 2025 at 9:07pm the Sarnia Police Service received a 911 call in relation to a weapons call in the area of the 1400 block of Exmouth Street, in the City of Sarnia.

The complainant indicated that he and his girlfriend attended a social gathering at this location.  They encountered a 17-year-old male who was intoxicated and argumentative.  As they entered their vehicle to leave, the 17-year-old male approached.  He requested a ride to a separate address to confront another individual but the complainant refused.  The male youth then produced a black pistol and pointed it at the vehicle occupants who immediately drove off, fearing for their safety.

The youth was arrested at a separate address later in the evening. 

Investigation revealed that this same youth was out on bail (subject to house arrest and a no weapons condition) in relation to previous firearms and drug offences.  See previous media release in relation to that incident: https://www.sarniapolice.ca/news/498/drugs-guns-and-ammunition-seized-after-youth-arrested/  

A 17-year-old Sarnia youth has been held for bail on charges of:

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Assault with a weapon
• Point Firearm
• Carry concealed weapon
• 2 X Fail to comply with release order

Following his bail hearing, the court remanded him into custody. The firearm has not yet been recovered. 

On September 27, 2025 at 2:56pm, police were called to an address on White Circle in Sarnia for a dispute. 

Police arrived and spoke with the adult male victim.  He had agree to have two known individuals drive him to Corunna for a set amount of money.  When they returned, the two males demanded more money.  An argument ensued during which time one of the males struck the victim in the face causing him to lose consciousness.  Some time afterward, he awoke and called police. 

While on route, one of the responding officers observed a vehicle matching the victim’s description, with two males in the front seats.  A traffic stop was conducted and both males were identified as the same males who had assaulted the victim.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Wilson MANESS and the passenger as Dakota BRESSETTE.

A search of the vehicle incident to arrest resulted in the discovery of two spring-assisted flick knives in the driver’s door. 

Dakota BRESSETTE (24 years) of Tashmoo Ave in Sarnia, was held for bail on charges of:

• Assault
• Fail to comply with probation

Wilson MANESS (29 years) of Tashmoo Ave in Sarnia, was held for bail on charges of:

• Uttering threats
• Unauthorized possession of a weapon X 2

Following their bail hearings, both men were released with conditions by the courts.

On Monday September 29, 2025 at 3:07am, police were called to the area of Russell and Wellington Street in Sarnia for a unknown individuals attempting to steal from parked vehicles.

Police arrived and observed two females and a male individual at that intersection.  As police were speaking with them, the male began acting suspiciously and refused to remove his hands from his pockets. Detained for the theft investigation, a pat down for weapons was conducted which revealed drug paraphernalia (pipes) and residue.  The male, identified as Cody ANDERSON, was place under arrest for drug possession.

A search incident to arrest included a backpack/cross body bag, was found to contain:

• 2.25 grams of crystal methamphetamine
• 3.96 grams of cocaine
• 109.5 grams of MDMA
• $481.35 in assorted bills.
• Other evidence indicative of drug trafficking

At the time of this offence, ANDERSON was subject to a probation order.

The two females were released at the scene.  Investigation into the theft from vehicles was not able to be substantiated with the information available.

Cody ANDERSON (34 years) of no fixed address in Sarnia was held for bail on charges of:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking
• Fail to comply with probation

Following his bail hearing, ANDERSON was remanded into custody by the court. 

On Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 11:11pm police were called to a convenience store in the 200 block of Confederation Street for “a male and female fighting”.

Police arrived on scene to observe a male restraining a female by the wrists.  The female was quickly identified as Kelsey SAAR.  Investigation revealed that SAAR had been inside the store attempting to take people’s belongings and punched a male customer (unprovoked) in the face.  Customers, in defense of themselves and their property, had restrained her until police could arrive.  Police investigation revealed that the customers acted reasonably and lawfully.  There were no injuries. 

SAAR was placed under arrest.  However SAAR resisted arrest, necessitating her being grounded to gain compliance.  At the time of this offence, SAAR was subject to multiple probation orders. 

Kelsey SAAR (33 years) of Indian Road in Sarnia was held for bail on charges of:

• Assault
• Obstructing a Police Officer
• Breach of Probation X 2

Of note, SAAR had been arrested on Sept 27th, and released from bail court on September 28^th just hours prior to this offence.  That incident involved charges of theft, breach probation and disobeying a court order. 

Sarnia police further note that since November of 2024, SAAR has had 30 interactions with police.  Since just April of 2025, SAAR has been arrested 11 times, and faces 27 charges (including 13 for failing to comply with probation).   

How does release from custody work?

“Released by Police”

After arresting an individual for a criminal offence, police officers also have the authority, in most cases, to either detain or release an accused person charged with an offence.  Police can only hold an arrested person for 24 hours before they are required to take them before a court.

A police officer may release an accused person to a court date, with or without conditions.  However, the conditions that police can impose are limited. 

If police believe that a person should not be released in order to protect the safety of the public or that there is a risk of the accused person re-offending, the offender is “held for bail”.

Bail hearings are held in a courtroom before a Judge or Justice of the Peace.  The court then decides on any release and any conditions that will apply.  The court can impose a much broader range of conditions in a release than police. 

On September 20th at 11:21pm the Sarnia Police responded to the area of East Street and Kathleen Avenue in the City of Sarnia in regards to a weapons call.

Police learned that a male youth attended the area, dressed in all black and wearing a black ski mask.  He was armed with a can of bear spray, a fixed blade dagger, and two folding knives.  As another set of youths passed by, the armed male called out to the others by name.  A confrontation started, at which time the armed male discharged bear spray into the faces of the three individuals.  The armed male then struck one member of the group two times in the head and upper chest. 

The three victims received minor injuries.  One suffered a defensive injury (finger dislocation).  

The armed male fled the area but was located a short distance away and arrested by responding officers.

A 17 year old youth has been held for bail charged with the following offences:

• Assault Causing Bodily Harm
• Assault with a Weapon (3 Counts)
• Disguise with Intent
• Fail to Comply with Sentence (2 Counts)
• Possession of a Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
• Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

Following his bail hearing, the court remanded this youth into custody. 

The name of the accused is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act

In July 2025, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) notified the Sarnia Police Service that a local business; Triple Eh Brews was operating under a false Manufacturer’s Licence.  Triple Eh Brews were using the false licence to operate at summer festivals and markets throughout Ontario as well as using online delivery services (Uber Eats and Door Dash) to sell their illegally manufactured alcohol. Uber Eats and Door Dash are regulated by the AGCO. As such the AGCO were able to prohibit Triple Eh Brews from using the delivery services within Ontario.

The Sarnia Police Service Intelligence Unit commenced an investigation and learned that the owner of Triple Eh Brews; Adrian AYODELLE was operating an illegal distillery in the City of Sarnia. 

On September 18^th 2025, members of the Intelligence Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Major Case Action Team (MCAT), Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Forensic Identification Service (FIS) executed Criminal Code and Provincial Offences Act search warrants at a Lanark Drive residence and a Green Street commercial building.

During the search warrants, police seized the following:

• Counterfeit Manufacturer’s Licences (posted within the distillery)
• 288 bottles of illegally manufactured alcohol.
• Distillery equipment
• A point of sale machine 
• Digital devices and printer

Adrian AYODELLE (35 years) of Lanark Cr. in Sarnia was released on an Undertaking and Provincial Offences Act Part III Summonses, charged with the following offences:

• Uttering forged document (two counts)
• Possession of a counterfeit mark
• Keep for sale, offer for sale, or sell liquor, contrary to the Liquor License and Control Act, 2019
• Unlawfully possessing liquor, contrary to the Liquor License and Control Act, 2019

This investigation is ongoing, and police are aware that Triple Eh Brews were still unlawfully using online delivery services.  Police are seeking any additional information regarding the illegal distillery operations.  Anyone with information related to this incident are asked to contact the SPS Intelligence Unit at 519-344-8861.

On September 18, 2025, at 6:30pm, police were dispatched to Exmouth Street near Indian Road, where a male was reported stumbling into traffic and appeared under the influence of an intoxicant. Patrols were made, but the male was not located.

At 7:14pm, police were called to a retailer in the 500 block of Exmouth Street for a male inside the store causing a disturbance and yelling.  While inside the store, the male was attempting to conceal items on his person, making no attempt to pay for anything as he left the store. However, his photo ID fell out of his pocket as he exited. 

Further reports were received of the same male outside of a bank, located in the same plaza, where the male was behaving erratically and harassing pedestrians.

At 7:55pm, police were dispatched to Colborne and Exmouth Streets regarding a male (again) stumbling into traffic. Despite patrols, the male was not located due to heavy foot traffic in the area.

At 8:52pm, EMS located an unconscious male on a London Road sidewalk. He awoke upon contact but was heavily intoxicated, refused medical treatment.  Police attended and placed the male under arrest. 

Investigation revealed that the male was bound by two active Probation Orders with Keep the Peace and Be of Good Behaviour conditions.

Cyrus WADE (21 years) of no fixed address, was held for bail on charges of:

• Causing a Disturbance
• Fail to Comply with Probation x2 (KPBGB)

Following his bail hearing, the court released WADE with conditions.

The Sarnia Police Service Community Crime Unit have identified and charged a prolific shoplifter.

Between August 20th, 2025 and September 7th, 2025, a male suspect committed five (5) retail thefts at a businesses located in the Quinn Drive and London Road area. The suspect stole clothing and electronic devices that valued a total of $1010 dollars. The male suspect was identified a Joseph FREER (43 years) of London Line.

On September 16th 2025, at 2:33pm, the Sarnia Police Service responded to a business situated on Quinn Drive to a report of loss prevention officer who had been assaulted.  Prior to police arrival a loss prevention officer observed Joseph FREER trespassing at the Quinn Drive premise. The loss prevention officer instructed FREER to leave the property. FREER refused to leave and assaulted the loss prevention officer by punching him twice. 

At approximately 4:02pm, a member of the Emergency Response Team observed FREER walking eastbound on London Line. FREER was arrested for assault and failing to comply with a release order. A search of FREER incident to arrested revealed that he was in possession prohibited weapon (a knife with a blade that opens with centrifugal force). FREER was currently bound a release order with conditions not to attend the Quinn Drive premise. 

On September 17th, 2026, members of the Community Crime Unit and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a London Line address. Police located and seized several items of evidence that linked FREER to the thefts that occurred from August 20th to September 7th 2025.

Joseph Wayne Brian FREER was held for a bail hearing on the following charges:

• Theft Under $5000 (five counts)
• Fail to Comply with Release Order (two counts)
• Assault
• Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

Following his bail hearing, FREER was remanded into custody by the courts. 

The Sarnia Police note that since September 2024, police have had 22 interactions with FREER including nine arrests and 10 charges.

On September 18, 2025, at approximately 1pm police attended Lambton College for a male causing a disturbance at the Wellington Street entrance, yelling at security officers who had refused him entry. He then left the scene prior to police arrival.  He was identified as Daniel WELLINGTON.

Police attended and spoke with staff members.  In order to protect students and staff, WELLINGTON had been previously banned from the property after threatening and harassing staff members. Officers reviewed multiple emails, voice messages all containing vile language and multiple threats to damage property and commit violent acts against specific people.  These threats were detailed and specifically directed at named individuals, causing them to fear for their safety.

At the time these offences were committed, WELLINGTON was bound by a probation order requiring him to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, with additional conditions. 

At 2:20pm, Police located WELLINGTON at an Errol Road East address. He was placed under arrest and immediately began yelling obscenities at police as he was secured in a cruiser. 

Daniel WELLINGTON (27 years) of Petrolia Line in Corunna, was held for bail on the following charges.

• Uttering Threats to Cause Death
• Criminal Harassment
• Failing to Comply with Probation

While in the custody of Sarnia Police, WELLINGTON was lodged in a cell within the SPS detention facility.  All cells are equipped with bathroom amenities (toilet/sink).  During this time, WELLINGTON continued his tirade within the cell block.  He expressed his displeasure by urinating and defecating on the cell floor and walls.  This created a biohazard requiring decontamination services (at a cost estimated to be several hundred dollars) and preventing the cell from being used until sanitized.  As a result, additional charges were added:

• Mischief
• Breach Probation

Following his bail hearing, the court remanded him into custody.

On September 15th 2025, the Sarnia Police Service received complaints regarding a male who had began showing up in the vicinity of a north end high school (not on the property).  This male had been approaching female teens, initiating unsolicited and inappropriate conversations (re. drugs and alcohol), including asking them to pose for pictures. 

The investigation revealed that in a short period of time he continued to frequent the area, with the boldness of his interactions growing to include following female students as they left the school property.  On one occasion, the male intentionally groped one of the students (a female youth), who subsequently made a complaint to police through the school administration.  The victim was shaken but not injured.  

On September 16th, the Sarnia Police Criminal Investigations Division successfully identified the male and arrested him.  Jagjit SINGH (51 years) of Manhattan Drive in Sarnia, was held for bail on the following charges: 

• Sexual Interference
• Sexual Assault

Following his bail hearing, the court remanded SINGH into custody. 

Police are seeking any additional victims or witnesses to these incidents.  Anyone with information related to this incident are asked to contact the SPS Criminal Investigations Division at 519-344-8861.

The school name has been withheld to help protect the identity of the victim.  Although this investigation has only invovled a single school, police do not want to eliminate the possibility of other schools that may have been involved.
