Another Home Invasion #StandYourGround

(RENFREW, ON) – Members of the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a home invasion at a local inn. 

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, shortly after 9:00 p.m., officers responded to an inn on Gibbons Road following reports that two males had entered a room, assaulted the occupants with what is believed to be bear spray, and stole property before fleeing the location.

Additional officers, including members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit responded to assist in the search for the suspects, who were not located.

The investigation by the Renfrew OPP and Renfrew OPP Crime Unit is ongoing, with support from Forensic Identification Services. Investigators believe this incident was targeted.

Public Safety Warning: Renfrew Rapist At Large – Armed And Dangerous

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious assault in Renfrew.

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, a woman attended a local hospital and reported that she had been held against her will and sexually assaulted at a motel on Stewart Street. The woman also indicated the male, who is known to her, was in possession of a handgun.

The male had already left the motel but was later spotted walking in the area. Officers attempted the take him into custody, but the male fled onto the Algonquin Trail.

Additional officers, including members of the Renfrew Detachment, the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit and the Tactics and Rescue Unit converged on the area to expand the search.

While there was believed to be no threat to the general public, a shelter in place was issued just after 9:00 p.m. for the area, out of an abundance of caution.

The extensive search continued throughout the evening, but it appeared the male had managed to flee from the area. The shelter in place was lifted shortly before 1:00 a.m.

The male has been identified, and an arrest warrant is being sought. The male is described as Black, 5’9″ to 6′ (175-183 cm) tall, with hair on the top of his head and the sides are shaved. He has a goatee and a five-star tattoo above his left eyebrow and another tattoo under his left eye. He was last seen wearing a purple plaid jacket, and possibly black shorts and a blue shirt.

If you see this individual or see any suspicious activity in the area, call 9-1-1 immediately. Do not approach. This male is urged to contact the Renfrew OPP to turn himself in.

Jeffrey PARSONS Was Arrested – Details Released

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a traffic complaint in the Town of Renfrew.

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in a construction area, in the Town of Renfrew. The subject vehicle was located, and officers investigated the complaint.

As a result of the investigation, Jeffrey PARSONS age 33 of Renfrew was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired- alcohol

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 17, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Robert SLEMKO Was Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a neighbour dispute in the Township of Horton.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a neighbour dispute, in the Township of Horton.  

As a result of the investigation, Robert SLEMKO age 65 of Renfrew was charged with:

–      Three counts of uttering threats- Cause bodily harm or death

–      Resist peace officer

–      Uttering threats- Damage or Injure Animal

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Brandon SHARPE Was Arrested Again

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an assault and theft that took place on Raglan Street South, in the Town of Renfrew.

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Renfrew OPP received reports that two males attended a residence, assaulted the victim and stole their bike.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon SHARPE, age 29 of Renfrew was charged with:

·      Assault

·      Uttering threats- cause death or bodily harm

·      Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 17, 2025.

The second suspect is still outstanding. Police are asking for the publics assistance to help identify this individual.

Gabrielle CARTHY – Theft

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft from a business on Raglan St. South, in the Town of Renfrew.

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Renfrew OPP witnessed a person fleeing from a store on foot and was being chased by store employees.

Police located the individual and formed grounds for an arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Gabrielle CARTHY age 23 of Renfrew was charged with two counts of theft under $5000- shoplifting.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 17, 2025.

Jeff MUSTOE – Drunk Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver as a result of a traffic stop.

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Renfrew OPP completed a traffic stop as a result of a positive hit on the Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) device showing that the registered owner of the vehicle was suspended.

During the stop, the officer had suspicion that the driver had consumed alcohol. A roadside test was conducted in which resulted in a fail.

As a result of the investigation, Jeff MUSTOE age 49 of Barrie was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired- alcohol

·      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Driving while under suspension

This was the third time the accused was charged with impaired driving charges in six months.

The accused was held for bail.

The accused had their driver’s licence re-suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Lindsay STALWICK Arrested Following Hit & Run

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver after failing to remain at a collision in Renfrew.

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to reports of a collision on O’Brien Road where the driver fled the scene. Officers later located the vehicle and driver.

As a result of the investigation, Lindsay STALWICK age 55 of Renfrew was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired- alcohol

·        Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Breach of recognizance

·        Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

·        Fail to notify change of address

·        Fail to remain

This accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 3, 2025.

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jacob Christopher YERREK – Impaired Operation

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two drivers for impaired driving in the Town of Renfrew.

On Friday, July 25, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., while responding to a separate incident in the Town of Renfrew, officers arrested an individual for impaired driving.

As a result of the investigation, Jacob Christopher YERREK, age 39 of Renfrew was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired- drugs

·        Operation while impaired- blood drug concentration

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released and schedule to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 3, 2025.

Later that same day, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to reports of a suspected impaired driver on Ma-Te-Way Park Drive, in the Town of Renfrew.

As a result of the investigation, Landon KIPPEN, age 37 of Petawawa was charged with operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

This accused was released and schedule to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 27, 2025.

Both accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.

Hunter GREEN – Theft

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) have charged one person after receiving reports of a theft on Queen Street in the Town of Renfrew.

On Friday, July 18, 2025, Renfrew OPP responded to a theft of a delivered package. Police obtained surveillance video and were able to identify a suspect.

As a result of the investigation, Hunter GREEN, age 35 of Renfrew was charged with theft under $5000.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke Court on September 10, 2025.

The stolen property was returned to the rightful owner.

Felipe NAPOLES Was Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after receiving reports of mischief at a local hotel.

On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Renfrew OPP responded to reports of a customer damaging property with a fire extinguisher.

As a result of the investigation, Felipe NAPOLES, age 41 from Barrie was charged with:

·        Mischief- obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property

·        Mischief over $5000

·        Causing a disturbance

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke Court on September 10, 2025.

Alexander HERBERT – Drugs

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after conducting a traffic stop on Lochiel Street in the Town of Renfrew.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a Renfrew OPP officer observed an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) traveling on the roadway without a plate.  The ATV was later located on Lochiel Street in the Town of Renfrew and a traffic stop was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, Alexander HERBERT age 28 of Renfrew was charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance.

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Pembroke Court of Justice on August 13, 2025.

Thomas FINDLAY – Impaired Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after conducting a traffic stop on River Road in the Township of Horton.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 8:55 a.m., a Renfrew OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on River Road in the Township of Horton.

As a result of the investigation, Thomas FINDLAY age 70 of Kinburn was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Pembroke Court of Justice on August 13, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Benjamin BARKLEY – Impaired Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a traffic complaint on Opeongo Road in Admaston/Bromley Township.

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Opeongo Road in the Township of Admaston/Bromley. The vehicle was later located on O’Brien Road in the Town of Renfrew and a traffic stop was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, Benjamin BARKLEY age 25 of Stittsville was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Pembroke Court of Justice on August 13, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
