Sage MILLER – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A novice motorist has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped at a RIDE program in Prince Edward County.

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, around 2:00 a.m., officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 49.

Officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on a novice driver. As a result, the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Sage MILLER, age 24 of Picton, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on October 22, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Sterling BROWN Was Arrested

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A motorist has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped at a RIDE program in Prince Edward County.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, around 11:00 p.m., officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Salmon Point Road and County Road 18.

Officers located and stopped a pick-up truck in the area. The driver was arrested, and open alcohol was located within the vehicle.

The individual was transported to the detachment for testing.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on October 27, 2025.

Jeffrey MANN – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A motorist has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped at a RIDE program in Prince Edward County.

Officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m., on County Road 4.

A vehicle entered the RIDE program and officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver. As a result, the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jeffrey MANN, age 39 of Belleville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on October 8, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Impaired Drivers Busted: Richard EGGLETON, Jason VIDITO, Alicia SMITH & Shirley SHIELDS

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in four more impaired driving investigations.

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a traffic complaint on Highway 2 led to an investigation where an individual was arrested for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Richard EGGLETON, age 52, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers responded to another traffic complaint on Stockdale Road, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jason VIDITO, age 45, from Prince Edward County, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP responded to a traffic complaint on 2nd Dug Hill Road leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Alicia SMITH, age 28, from Quinte West was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On Friday, September 12, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Glen Ross Road leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Shirley SHIELDS, age 63, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – combined blood alcohol and blood drug concentration (80 plus)
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

All the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a later date. Additionally, the vehicles they were operating were impounded for seven days, and their licences suspended for 90 days.

Remo SOOKOO Was Arrested

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A driver has been charged criminally after a traffic stop in Prince Edward County.

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, around 2:00 a.m. officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop in Consecon. When speaking to the driver, officers suspected that the individual was under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported back to detachment.

Remo SOOKOO, age 35 of Toronto, has been charged with:

  • Failure or refusal comply with a demand
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle with open container of alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on October 08, 2025.

Their driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Cruickshank & MUHARABU – Impaired Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Two drivers have been charged with impaired driving in Prince Edward County.

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, around 10:00 p.m. officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a single motor vehicle collision on Consecon Street in Prince Edward County. Officers located the vehicle and the driver and continued their investigation. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Harriet MUHARABU, age 25 of Belleville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to remain
  • Fail to report accident

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, around 1:30 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling in Prince Edward County. Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle and utilized an approved alcohol screening device. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

Connor Cruickshank, age 25 of Wellington, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Driver fail to surrender licence

The individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

Their driver’s licences have been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.

Patrick MCMURTER – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A motorist has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped at a RIDE program in Prince Edward County.

Officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., on Highway 62 near County Road 3.

They conducted a test on a pick-up truck driver, using an approved roadside alcohol screening device. As a result, the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Patrick MCMURTER, age 67 of Consecon, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Decon WATERSON – Impaired Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County and Quinte West Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged a vessel operator with impaired driving.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., officers were conducting marine patrols on West Lake in Prince Edward County. Officers stopped a vessel and spoke to the occupants. During the interaction, officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver. As a result, the male was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Decon WATERSON, age 42 from Prince Edward County, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure or refusal to comply with a demand
  • Operating boat underway with open container of liquor
  • Operating pleasure craft without transferring licence – new owner

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged two drivers with impaired driving while conducting proactive traffic enforcement.

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, around 12:00 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program in Picton when a motorist attempted to evade the RIDE program. Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the driver. During the interaction, officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver. As a result, the male was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Corbin ROGERS, age 35 from Picton, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle – no plates
  • Drive motor vehicle – improper licence
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Fail to notify change of address
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes

On Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 3:45 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation. During the interaction, officers suspected that the driver was impaired and utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device. As a result, the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Cassandre CHERRAT, age 26 of Montreal, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Disobey stop sign

Both individuals had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for seven days. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

More Arrests In $100,000 Fraud Case

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with a year-long investigation into an online fraud scam.

In October 2024, the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began the investigating an incident in which an individual from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory had been defrauded for over $100,000. This extensive investigation was led by the Prince Edward County OPP Crime Unit, with assistance from the OPP Regional Support Team, OPP Risk Offender Enforcement Unit, OPP Aviation Services and the Winnipeg Police Service.

Diana ADDAE, age 27 of Mississauga, and Kenneth DANUMON, age 23 of Guelph, turned themselves in to the OPP in Toronto on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. They had been the subject of outstanding arrest warrants. Both have been charged with:

  • Fraud over $5,000 – two counts
  • Theft over $5,000
  • Laundering proceeds of crime
  • Participation in criminal organization
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

Both of these accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear by video before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Three other people, from Winnipeg, Guelph and Ottawa were charged earlier in connection with this case and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a later date.

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged two drivers with impaired driving.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, around 8:00 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program near Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County. A vehicle entered the RIDE and officers spoke to the driver. During the interaction, officers suspected the driver was impaired and utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver.

The male was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Juran THANGAVELAUTHAPILLAI, age 32 of Bowmanville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 6:45 p.m., officers received a report of a single motor vehicle collision in Wellington in Prince Edward County. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the driver of the vehicle. During the investigation, officers suspected that the driver was impaired and utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Kyler RINGLET, age 41 of Picton, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to surrender permit
  • Vehicle modified – fail to apply for new permit

Both individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 3, 2025.

$100,000 Fraud – 3 Arrested

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested three people in relation to a year-long investigation into an online fraud scam.

In October 2024, Prince Edward County OPP responded to a call where the victim had been defrauded for over $100,000 in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. The year-long investigation continued with the assistance of the Prince Edward County OPP Crime Unit, the OPP Regional Support Team, OPP Risk Offender Enforcement, OPP Aviation Services and the Winnipeg Police Service.

Between Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and Friday, August 8, 2025, three people were

arrested and charged with Criminal Code offences.

Dennis OPOKU, 23 years-old, of Winnipeg has been charged with the following:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Laundering proceeds of crime
  • Participation in criminal organization
  • Theft over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Personating a peace officer

Kwame Boakye, APPIAH-NUAMAH, 35 years-old, of Guelph has been charged with the following:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Laundering proceeds of crime
  • Participation in criminal organization
  • Theft over $5,000
  • Possession obtained by crime over $5,000

Mutala ZAKARI, 28 years-old, of Gloucester, has been charged with the following:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Laundering proceeds of crime
  • Participation in criminal organization
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a later date.

Arrest warrants have been sought for two other individuals related to this investigation.

More Impaired Drivers – MITTELSTAEDT & REID

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges for impaired operation on the water.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, shortly after 7:00 p.m., officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the OPP and Tyendinaga Police Service (TPS) responded to the report of a boat washed up on a shoreline on the Bay of Quinte.

Officers located the vessel, and through investigation, discovered that the driver was sleeping at the helm. The operator was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Robert MITTELSTAEDT, age 70 of Aurora, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on August 20, 2025.

On Sunday, August 10th, 2025, around 7:45 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County and Quinte West detachments of the OPP were conducting joint marine patrols with Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Conservation Officer, on West Lake in Prince Edward County.

Officers conducted a vessel stop and observed open alcohol on the vessel. During the investigation an approved screen device was utilized on the operator. The operator was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

Russell REID, age 63 of Wellington, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Having care and control of a boat underway with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 3, 2025.

The individuals’ driver’s licences have been suspended for 90 days.

22 Year Old Arrested & Vehicle Impounded After Running Stop Sign

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Failing to stop for a stop sign in Picton has led to impaired driving charges.

On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, shortly after 4:30 a.m., an officer with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) watched as a car failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Main and Bridge Streets.

The officer stopped the vehicle, and an approved roadside alcohol screening device was utilized. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Benjamin ARMSTRONG, age 22 of Carrying Place, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Disobey a stop sign

More Impaired Drivers – LUCAS, MCBAIN & ALLEN

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to intercept impaired driving through proactive patrols.

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, around 10:00 p.m., an officer with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that had no visible licence plate.

During the investigation, the officer suspected the individual had been drinking, and an approved roadside alcohol screening device was utilized. The individual was transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result, Tyler LUCAS, age 29, of Prince Edward County, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • No licence
  • No number plate
  • No off-road vehicle permit
  • Not properly insured
  • Fail to have required lighted lamps

On Thursday, July 17, 2025 shortly after 4:00 pm, officers responded to a traffic complaint where a member of the public suspected a driver was impaired. The vehicle was located by officers and through investigation, an approved screening device was utilized.

Mark MCBAIN, age 59, of Sudbury, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On Friday, July 18, 2025, around 3:30 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) violation. During the investigation, the officer suspected the accused had been drinking, and an approved screening device was utilized.

Brandon ALLEN, age 30, of Belleville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Speeding

All three accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton at a later date. Their driver’s licenses have been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.
