Highway 17 Fatal: Pick-Up Driver Pronounced Dead After Collision With Transport in Oxdrift

(OXDRIFT, ON) – Members of the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a two-vehicle collision that has resulted in a fatality.   

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Dryden OPP, Dryden Fire Services, and Emergency Medical Services responded to reports of a head-on collision involving a transport truck and a pick-up truck on Highway 17 at Latimer Road in Oxdrift.  

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 27-year-old male from Sioux Lookout, was pronounced deceased on scene and the passenger of the transport truck was transported to hospital with minor injuries. 

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction teams. A section of Highway 17 was closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were on scene. The road has since re-opened.

BOBCAYGEON: Park Death Leads to Manslaughter Charge, Victim Identified as BUCSIS, 50

(BOBCAYGEON, ON) – After a deceased person was located in Bobcaygeon, police have laid charges and identified the victim. 

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, at approximately 9:18 p.m., officers of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a park on Mansfield Street, where an individual was located deceased. One person was taken into custody.

The deceased has been identified as Jason BUCSIS, 50 years old of Toronto.

As a result of the investigation, Curtis GORDON, 31 years old of Port Credit, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·        Manslaughter, section 236(b)

·        Failure to comply with release order, section 145(4)(a)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Monday, October 6, 2025.

The investigation is continuing by the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by the OPP Forensic Identification Services.

County Road 27 Tragedy: Local Rider Pronounced Dead at Scene in Springwater Township

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) –  Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huronia West Detachment are investigating a fatal collision on County Road 27 in Springwater Township.

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, shortly after 4:00 p.m., officers responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle. The motorcycle driver, a 36-year-old male from Springwater Township, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team. County Road 27 remains closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators are on scene.

HALDIMAND: 3 Drivers Arrested on Same Weekend for Impaired Driving #OPP

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – Three drivers were arrested over the weekend and charged with impaired.

On September 27, 2025, at approximately 2:10 a.m., members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle that brought attention to police while on patrol on Highway 6, near Hagersville.

The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however the vehicle failed to acknowledge the efforts of police. Once the vehicle was stopped, the individual was taken into custody.

Matthew FRUM, 57-years-old of Hagersville has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor
  • Fail to Stop for Police
  • Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 14, 2025.

On September 27, 2025, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Haldimand OPP conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation On Mackenzie Road, near Caledonia.

The driver was subsequently placed under arrest.

Darryl KONING, 40-years-old of Caledonia has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 21, 2025.

On September 28, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Haldimand OPP conducted a traffic stop on 4th Line, near Hagersville.

Nathan FRISCOLANTI, 21-years-old of Caledonia has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 28, 2025.

18 Year Old Arrested After Attempting To Flee From Police

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – An individual is facing charges after fleeing from police.

On September 26, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a traffic complaint on Haldimand County Highway 54, near Caledonia.

Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, and lone occupant fled the scene at a high rate of speed but was located soon after and placed under arrest.

Jacob BURMAN-LINDSTEAD, 18-years-old of Six Nations of the Grand River has been charged with the following offences:

·        Dangerous Operation

·        Flight from Peace Officer

·        Driving While Under Suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 28, 2025.

Stabbing Victim Arrested on Outstanding Charges – Suspect Remains At Large

(HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN TOWNSHIP, ON)- The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an address on Blairton Road regarding an assault.

On Tuesday September 30,2025, prior to 8:00am, the Peterborough County OPP received a call from an individual stating that they had been in an altercation earlier that morning and as a result had been stabbed. The caller advised that they were currently wanted on outstanding charges and wished to turn themselves in.

Officers attended and spoke with the complainant who advised they had been staying with an individual on Blairton Road. The complainant had been asked to leave the residence but prior to being able to gather their belongings, an argument started. The complainant stated that at one point an edged weapon was brandished and they were stabbed. The complainant left the residence and walked to a place of safety.

Officers attended the address on Blairton Road and made effort to contact the accused. A large police presence remained in the area until a warrant was able to be executed on the residence. The accused was not located at the time and remains outstanding. A further warrant for their arrest has been issued. The complainant was arrested on their outstanding charges.

The accused and the victim are known to each other and appears to be an isolated incident. There is no reason to believe that there is any risk to public safety.

Fatal Collision: 16 Year Old Dirt Biker Vs Dog

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious collision involving an off-road dirt bike and a family pet in the Municipality of Central Huron, on September 30, 2025. 

Just after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedics responded to a report of a collision on Bandon Line in Central Huron.

Upon arrival, police discovered that a 16-year-old youth had been operating a dirt bike southbound on Bandon Line when a dog ran out onto the roadway. The dirt bike collided with the dog, launching the youth into the ditch. The youth sustained serious injuries and was transported to a London hospital for further care. The dog died as a result of the impact. 

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) unit attended the scene to assist investigators. Roads were closed in the area for several hours but have since reopened.

No charges have been laid at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Government Street Traffic Stop Nets Cocaine, Fentanyl, Hydromorphone – KING, 61, Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – A local resident is facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On September 30, 2025, just after 1:30 pm, a traffic stop was conducted on Government Street in the City of Dryden. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a local resident and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl and hydromorphone, as well as Canadian currency and further evidence of drug trafficking.

John KING, 61-years-old, of Dryden, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code with the following offences:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – cocaine

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – other drugs – (two counts)

·        Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000

·        Fail to comply with probation order – (two counts)

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on October 1, 2025.

KINCARDINE: MAGRATH, 41, Arrested for Operation While Impaired, Court in November

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On September 30, 2025, at approximately 12:49 a.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Bruce Road 20, Municipality of Kincardine.

When speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. They were placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Kristen MAGRATH, 41-years-old, resident of London, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on November 12, 2025, to answer to the charge.

Queen Street Stop: Andre FOURNIER, 49, and Tracy SERGERIE, 30, Face Multiple Charges

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged two people, after conducting a traffic stop.

On Monday September 29, 2025, at approximately 12:05 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Queen Street, West Nipissing.

The driver was arrested for being a suspended driver, while the passenger of the vehicle was arrested for damaging the vehicle.

The registered owner of the vehicle advised police that the vehicle was taken without their consent.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, Andre FOURNIER, 49 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Take motor vehicle without consent
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt

The passenger, Tracy SERGERIE, 30 years-of-age, from West Nipissing was charged with mischief – destroys or damages property and fail to comply with Probation Order.

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday November 6, 2025, in North Bay.

Licence Suspended, Vehicle Impounded After Tay Valley Ditch Arrest #OPP

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with impaired driving.

Officers responded to vehicle in the ditch on Bolingbroke Road on Monday, September 29, 2025, just before 1:00 p.m.

The officers located the vehicle, arrested the driver, and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Angela PENSA, 61-years-old, of Tay Valley Township, has been charged with:

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·        Novice driver – B.A.C above zero

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday October 27, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Sanctuary Line Stop: Adam HAJDINJAK, 43, Busted for Impaired Driving

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Nipigon, Ontario resident with an impaired driving offence following a suspicious vehicle complaint in the Municipality of Huron East on September 22nd, 2025. 

At 9:30 p.m., on Monday, September 22, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by a concerned citizen regarding a vehicle that had been parked on Sanctuary Line in Huron East for a period of time. Officers attended the location and spoke to the driver who was subsequently arrested for impaired operation. The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Adam HAJDINJAK, 43 years-of-age from Nipigon has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on October 27, 2025.

Home Invader Charged in String of Assaults, Weapons Offences #OPP

(PERTH, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, relating to incidents between January and September 2025

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old male from Perth has been charged with:

·        Assault – two counts

·        Assault with a weapon – three counts

·        Assault causing bodily harm – three counts

·        Forcible entry – two counts

·        Break and Enter

·        Trespass at night – three counts

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.

Two Dead in Wabigoon Lake Drowning – 5-Year-Old Boy and 28-Year-Old Man Recovered #OPP

(Dryden, ON) – Members of the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a drowning incident on Wabigoon Lake that claimed two lives.

On Saturday September 27, at approximately 4:05 p.m. Dryden OPP responded to a call for service that two people had gone missing after entering the water and failed to surface.

Dryden OPP, along with the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and OPP Marine Unit responded and searched the water.

On Sunday September 28th at approximately 7:15 a.m., the Dryden OPP responded to a report of a body in the water at Flat Rock Park in Dryden. A five-year-old male that had entered the water the on Saturday September 27 and failed to surface was recovered from the water and pronounced deceased.

On Sunday September 28th at approximately 5:50 p.m., the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) assisted with the recovery of the 28-year-old male that had entered the water on Saturday September 27 and failed to surface was recovered from the water and pronounced deceased.

The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Marine Unit, OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) and Dryden Fire assisted in the effort.
