Justin MCMILLAN Arrested Again

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On April 11, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single vehicle collision in a ditch on Wellington Road 26 near Sideroad 15.

Witnesses reported seeing the driver walking away from the collision prior to police arrival.   Police determined that the motor vehicle has been reported stolen earlier in the day from Waterloo Region.

Officers set up containment of the area and were assisted by members of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit in the search of the driver.

   On April 12, 2021 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a suspect was taken into custody near the scene of the collision.

Justin MCMILLAN, 31-years-old from Kitchener has been charged with;

  •  Operate Motor Vehicle While Prohibited (6 counts)
  • Drive While Suspended (2 counts)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments

The Accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph at a later date.

Fatal Pedestrian Incident – Regan KEYES Pronounced Deceased

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian crash that has claimed the life of a Wingham resident.

This morning, just after 2:30 a.m., Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the crash scene located on Blyth Road (Huron County Road #25) just east of Council Line.  

First responders located a pedestrian laying on the roadway that had been struck by a vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Blyth Road. Despite the life-saving measures provided by first responders the pedestrian died at the scene.

The deceased has since been identified as Regan KEYES, 41 years of age from Wingham.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted later today.

The driver of the automobile was transported to hospital by ambulance and was later released with minor injuries.

Investigators from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation. 

Blyth Road is now open for travel.

Two Arrested During Break And Enter

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – On April 8th, 2021 approximately 02:20 a.m. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) patrol officers were called to the area of the 20000 block of County Road 42, in the Municipality of Lakeshore regarding a possible break and enter at a business premise. 

Police attended, located and arrested two suspects. A quantity of break in instruments were seized and a catalytic converter was recovered. The Community Street Crimes Unit was called to assist with the investigation and as a result the following have been charged:

Mark GRIEVE, age 36, of Leamington is charged with:

  • Break and Enter with intent to commit an indicatable offence – Criminal Code of Canada (C.C)
  • Possession of Break in Instruments – C.C.
  • Mischief Under $5000 – C.C.
  • Possession of a controlled substance -schedule 1 cocaine – Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

Jonathon DEBERGH, age 38, of Leamington is charged with:

  • Break and Enter with intent to commit an indicatable offence – Criminal Code of Canada (C.C)
  • Possession of Break in Instruments – C.C.
  • Mischief Under $5000 – C.C.

The matter is scheduled to be heard on May 24, 2021 at the Windsor, Ontario Court of Justice.

Ronald WARD Arrested – 3X Legal Limit

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On April 10, 2021 at 6:48 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to single all-terrain vehicle (atv) collision on Campbell’s Hill, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.  

OPP officers arrested the atv operator for impaired driving. A breath test recorded readings over three times the legal limit of 80 milligrams (mgs) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. 

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Ronald WARD, 51 years-of-age, from West Grey with the following offences:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs or more, section 320.14(1)(b) CCC
  • Driving while under suspension, section 53(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
  • Use plates not authorized for vehicle, section 12(1)(d) HTA

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on May 13, 2021.

62 Year Old From Gorrie Arrested For Drunk Driving

(HOWICK, ON) – Whether it be a pickup truck, an automobile, motorcycle, vessel, airplane, snowmobile or in this case an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), Impaired Operation charges will apply if you’re caught driving over the legal limit.

On Saturday, April 10, 2021 at approximately 9:36 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks in Gorrie when an ATV entered into their checkpoint.

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The accused later provided two samples of his breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit.  

William KROTZ, 62 years of age, from Gorrie has been charged with Impaired Operation and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 31, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Listowel

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A South Huron resident has been arrested and charged with Impaired Operation following a traffic stop conducted in Hensall this past weekend.

Just before 9:00 p.m. on April 10, 2021 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks in Hensall when a pickup truck entered into the checkpoint. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer immediately noted the driver had consumed some alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment.

The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The accused later provided two samples of his breath to the qualified Intoxilizer and both samples were found to be above the legal limit. 

Andrew NEDZA, 58 years of age, from South Huron has been charged with Impaired Operation and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 31, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

75 Year Old Attempts To Keep Driving After Losing Axle

(MEAFORD, ON) – On April 10th, 2021 at 11:50 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint involving a sport utility vehicle that was pulling a utility trailer on St. Vincent Street, in the Town of Meaford, in Municipality of Meaford.

The axle broke completely off from the trailer, causing the wheels and axle to skid across the sidewalk, landing in a residential driveway. The driver attempted to continue driving the trailer, with no wheels or axle, until they finally stopped on the shoulder of the roadway. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 75 year old Meaford resident with operating an unsafe vehicle. The driver was issued a summons and must attend Provincial Offences Court.

Now that the spring like weather has arrived, Grey Bruce OPP remind motorists to conduct regular trailer maintenance, tighten all wheels and inflate tires and ensure that all loads are tarped properly and that towed vehicles are safe to operate on the roadway.

23 Year Old Drunk Driver From Morris-Turnberry Arrested

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) –  A Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint conducted this past weekend in Bluevale resulted in officers arresting a drunk driver.

At approximately 10:32 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021 officers were conducting a RIDE checkpoint at the intersection of Clyde Line and Morris Street when they observed an approaching vehicle abruptly turn off into a private drive.

Officers found the maneuver suspicious in nature so they went to check on the driver. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment.

The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The accused provided two samples of his breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit. 

Dallas COULTES, 23 years of age, from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Impaired Operation and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 31, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Daniel CRERAR Has Vehicle Impounded For Speeding

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A resident from South Huron is facing a Stunt Driving charge after he was caught speeding well over the limit last week by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). 

On Saturday, April 3, 2021 at approximately 4:46 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was conducting RADAR patrol on London Road when a pickup truck was observed travelling northbound at a high rate of speed. The officer activated the RADAR device and measured the speed of the target vehicle to be well over the posted 80 km/h speed limit. 

A traffic stop ensued and the driver was subsequently charged. Daniel CRERAR, 64 years of age from South Huron has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle Perform a Stunt – Speeding by 50 km/h or more. He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Court in Goderich on June 1, 2021 to answer to the charge. His driver’s licence was automatically suspended for seven days and his vehicle was also impounded for a week.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Matthew YOUNG Arrested

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On April 9th, 2021 at 3:49 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a motor vehicle that was stopped in the live lane of traffic on the 7th Line, near Sideroad 16C, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Offices spoke with the driver, who was found to be in contravention of a Court Order, from a previous police occurrence. Further investigation revealed that the involved vehicle was reported stolen from another municipality earlier thatd ay.                                                                                

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Matthew YOUNG, 24 years-of-age, from Hanover, with possession of property obtained by crime (over $5,000.), section 355(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and failing to comply with a Probation Order, section 733.1(1) CCC.

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on May 20th, 2021.

22 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested After Foot Chase

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 22-year-old from Central Huron is facing a half-dozen charges following a series of events that took place late last night and early this morning.

At approximately 12:23 a.m. on April 9, 2021 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling on London Road south of Londesboro when he noticed a heavily damaged vehicle that had rolled over in the ditch. A check on the vehicle revealed the occupants had left the scene. Shortly thereafter police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was in the vicinity of the crash scene and it was determined a Good Samaritan had picked up the driver of the crashed car. 

While speaking with driver of the crashed vehicle the suspect suddenly bolted from the officer and fled on foot. Following a short foot pursuit the accused was taken into custody. While speaking with the driver police noted the accused had consumed some alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. 

The accused later provided two samples of breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered above the legal limit. The accused was lodged at the Huron Detachment and while in custody the accused caused damage to the holding cell.    

As a result, 22-year-old Chelsea HOGGART, from Central Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus, Failure to Stop at Accident, Fail to Comply with Release Order, Failure to Comply with Undertaking and Mischief Under $5,000.

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 14, 2021.

24 Year Old From Exeter Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A novice driver from Exeter will be without a driver’s licence for the next 90 days following an arrest made by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) late last night.

On Thursday, April 8, 2021 at approximately 11:00 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was conducting speed enforcement patrol on Main Street in Dashwood when a sport utility vehicle was observed speeding through town.

A traffic stop was initiated and upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer observed signs the driver had consumed some alcohol. In addition, open alcohol was spotted inside the vehicle.

A roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit.

Cameron DICKERT, 24 years of age from Exeter has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus, Have Liquor in Open Container and Novice Driver BAC Over Zero. 

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 14, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. The accused’s vehicle was impounded and his licence has been automatically suspended for 90 days.

$72,000 Drug Bust – BROWN & VANARKEL

(HURON & PERTH COUNTY, ON) – A resident of Wroxeter and a resident of Stratford are both facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation conducted by members of the Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU).

On April 8, 2021 at approximately 1:00 a.m. as a result of drug trafficking investigation Perth County OPP members initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle on Main Street in Palmerston. Officers arrested both vehicle occupants and a search incident to arrest resulted in officers locating and seizing significant quantities of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine. In addition, officers seized Canadian currency, a BB gun and drug trafficking paraphernalia consisting of drug packaging materials, a digital scale, an electronic device and cell phones. 

The combined estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is $72,780 and the value of the seized property is estimated at $6,260.

Rebecca BROWN, 32 years of age from Wroxeter has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking and Possession of Fentanyl for the Purposes of Trafficking. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 31, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Tyson VANARKEL, 36 years of age from Stratford has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking, Possession of Fentanyl for the Purposes of Trafficking and two counts of Fail to Comply with a Release Order. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 31, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Jared SALTON – Counsel to Commit Murder

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), began an investigation into an incident in Bluewater.

As a result of the investigation, officers from the Huron County OPP Crime Unit, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the West Region OPP Regional Support Team (RST) located and arrested an individual in Huron County without incident. 

Jared SALTON, 21 years of age from the Municipality of Bluewater, has been charged with two counts of Counsel to Commit Murder. 

The accused remains in custody with his next court appearance scheduled for April 12, 2021.

Numerous Racers Charged

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Stunt driving continues to be a problem in Perth County, and five more drivers were charged for driving in excess of 50km/h over the speed limit during the long weekend. Not only are the fines, licence suspension, and tow/impound bills expensive, but the risks associated with excessive speed are a major concern on our roadways.

On April 02 2021, just after 3:30 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle travelling on Perth Line 34, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 133km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Tyler HARNOCK, 30, of Gads Hill, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

On April 02 2021, just after 9:00 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle travelling on Perth Line 86, in the Municipality of North Perth, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 139km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Jacobus MULDER, 38, of Mapleton Township, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

On April 03 2021, just before 9:00 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle travelling on Perth Line 43, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 135km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Christian DOS SANTOS-QUINTIERI, 20, of Stratford, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

On April 04 2021, just before 7:30 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle travelling on Perth Road 164, in the Municipality of North Perth, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 140km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Nolan GIESBRECHT, 18, of Malahide Township, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

On April 05 2021, just after 11:30 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle travelling on Perth Line 86, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 150km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Dinto TOMY, 23, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

  • Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

In each incident, a seven day driving suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
