Do You Recognize These Suspects?

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking suspects and witnesses after a theft from a business in the Municipality of North Perth.

On April 14, 2021, just after 4:00 p.m., police were called to a business on Mitchell Road South after a male and female were observed taking $120 worth of alcohol from a shelf, and exiting the store without purchasing.

Suspect one is described as:

         – Male

         – Caucasian

         – Thin build, 6 feet tall

         – Wearing a black motorcycle helmet and yellow/black/white jacket and blue jeans

Suspect two is described as:

         – Female, 30 to 40 years of age

         – Caucasian

         – Thin build, 5’5 feet tall

         – Wearing dark jogging style pants, brown sweater, grey vest, and a backpack

Name Of Deceased Found Near Mount Forest Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has now identified human remains located in Wellington North Township.

On May 4, 2021, shortly after 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a location, just south of Mount Forest, where an individual had reported finding remains in a wooded rural area.

Investigators have confirmed that the found remains are that of a missing person, 30-year-old Levi Edward LARTER, who was last seen on November 8, 2020.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services (FIS), under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch

(CIB), in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO). 

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

17 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested After Robbery In Listowel

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest after a robbery in the Municipality of North Perth last week.

On Wednesday, April 28 2021, just after 9:30 p.m., the Perth County OPP received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Listowel Memorial Park on Royal Street East, Listowel. The suspect had assaulted two youths, and stole a backpack and two scooters. There were no weapons used in the robbery, and the victims were not injured. The backpack and one scooter were recovered at the time, and the second scooter was located abandoned the following day.

During the investigation, the Perth County OPP was assisted by the Perth County Crime Unit, and the suspect was identified. On Thursday, May 06 2021, police observed the suspect in the area of Armstrong Street West, in Listowel. The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle, and then on foot, but was located hiding in a backyard nearby.

As a result, a 17-year-old of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery with Violence
  • Fail to Comply with Sentence

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

$18 Million Drug Bust – 19 Arrested

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – On May 5, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Force Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) executed five Cannabis Act search warrants at three greenhouse locations and two residences on County Road 34 and County Road 31 in Kingsville and Seacliff Drive West in Leamington.

PJFCET, members of the Essex County Detachment, Essex County Crime Unit, OPP Regional Community Street Crime Units (CSCU), along with members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) seized just over 20,000 cannabis plants, over 1400 pounds of processed cannabis, a quantity of Canadian currency and marihuana processing equipment.

The total value of seized cannabis is estimated to be over $18 million dollars.

Li Yi CAO, 34-years-old of Mississauga is charged with:

  • Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling, section 10(2) of the Cannabis Act (CA)
  • Cultivate, Propagate or Harvest any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling-house, section 12(6) (a) CA. (three counts)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000-Criminal Code of Canada 354(1)(a).

The following individuals are charged under the Cannabis Act (CA) with Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling, section 10(2) CA and Cultivate, Propagate or Harvest any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling-house, section 12(6) (a) CA.

  • Xu CHEN, 37-years-old, of Kingsville, ON.
  • Kim Duong DIEP, 51-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Zhenying FU, 57-years-old of Scarborough, ON.
  • Cheng Yun LIN, 52-years-old, of Kingsville, ON.
  • Fa Guan LIN, 72-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Thoa NGUYEN, 43-years old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Yanfang SU, 53-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Yanchun SUN, 49-years-old of Scarborough, ON.
  • Bing WANG, 40-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Pinguang WANG, 65-years-old of Markham, ON.
  • Ying Sheng CHENG, 57-years old of Wheatley, ON.
  • Carlos Alejandro TORRES-VALENZUELA, 36-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Yong Chao WANG, 57-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Tran Thi ANH, 19-years-old of North York, ON.
  • Hien Thi DO, 55-years-old of Leamington, ON.
  • Hua Zhi LAN, 59-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Thi Thuy NGUYEN, 53-years-old of Kingsville, ON.
  • Jianer WANG, 58-years-old of Kingsville, ON.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Leamington at a later date.

 The investigation is ongoing.

The PJFCET is responsible for enforcing the cannabis laws and investigating criminal enterprises that exploit or abuse the legal cannabis market.

Drunk Driver Arrested – WATSON

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On May 5, 2021 at 10:21 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint involving a driver in the driveway of a home on Southgate Sideroad 61, in the Township of Southgate. 

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Ross WATSON, 78 years-of-age, from the Township of Southgate with the following offences:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs or more, section 320.14(1)(b) CCC

The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle they were operating was towed and will be impounded for seven days.

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on June 10, 2021.

Officer Assaulted – Daniel BLAGDON Arrested

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On May 4, 2021 at 12:37 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a complaint of a disruptive person at a business on Hagerty Road in Newbury.

The individual refused police direction to leave the premises and became combative. Police took the suspect into custody.

Daniel BLAGDON, a 56-year-old of Wardsville, Ontario has been charged with:

  • Resist Peace Officer, section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Assault a Peace Officer, section 270(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Enter premises when entry prohibited, section 2(1)(a)(i) of the Trespass to Property Act

The accused has been released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in London on June 21, 2021.

20 Year Old Caught Going 130 in an 80

(HURON EAST, ON) – A Kincardine resident will be making a court appearance this June following a traffic stop that took place last night near Vanastra.

On May 4, 2021 at approximately 7:08 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR patrols on London Road (Highway 4) when he observed a sedan travelling northbound at a high rate of speed. A RADAR device was utilized to check on the speed of the vehicle and it measured a speed in excess of 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. 

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was subsequently charged. Darian KUZ, 20 years of age from Kincardine has been charged with Racing. He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Act court on June 1, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich to answer to the charge.

His driver’s licence has been automatically suspended and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a week.

20 Year Old Impaired Driver Facing Numerous Charges

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2:03 a.m., an officer with the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Brant Road in the County of Brant. The driver was arrested and transported to the Brant County OPP detachment, where further tests were administered.

Police have charged Richard BURGESS, 20 years-of-age from London, Ontario with

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – Methylenedioxyamphetamine (Ecstasy),
  • Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000,
  • Possession of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place,
  • Operating a motor vehicle without insurance and
  • Several additional offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.

Human Remains Found Near Mount Forest

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services (FIS), under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario (OCCO). 

A post-mortem examination will be conducted in an attempt to identify the remains and determine a cause of death.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

The investigation is in the early stages and more information will be released when it becomes available.

19 Year Old Caught Going 2X Speed Limit – Vehicle Impounded

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind all drivers that speeding by over 50 km/h over the limit will cost you big time. 

An expensive fine, immediate licence suspension, vehicle impoundment, demerit points and a court date are just some of the consequences you can expect.    

On May 4, 2021 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was parked in Woodham conducting stationary RADAR observations of vehicles when he spotted a vehicle racing southbound on Road 164. A RADAR device was used and the speed of the racing pickup was measured at a speed more than double the 60 km/h speed limit. 

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was subsequently charged. Trevor DEJONG, 19 years of age from West Perth has been charged with Perform a Stunt – Speeding by 50 km/h or more. He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Act court on June 15, 2021 to answer to the charge.

His driver’s licence has been suspended and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a week.

ALERT: Purple Fentanyl In Area – Nathan NIGH Arrested

(WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 30 year old individual with a criminal offence after a traffic stop in West Perth on April 23, 2021.

On April 23 2021, just after 12:00 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 34, after it caught the eye of an officer for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

A traffic stop was conducted and the officer initiated an investigation after observing drug paraphernalia. The driver was found to be in possession of purple fentanyl. 

As a result, Nathan NIGH, 30, of Seaforth, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid
  • Operate Unsafe Vehicle

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Fatal Collision – Name Of Deceased Released

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On Tuesday May 04, 2021 at approximately 10:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Perth County Paramedic Services, and the Perth East Fire Department responded to a fatal two vehicle motor vehicle collision at Perth Road 131 at Perth Line 72, in the Township of Perth East. 

David GASCHO, 84-years-old, of Milverton was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

The areas surrounding Perth County Line 72 and Perth Road 131 remains closed for the protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation, and will likely be closed until approximately 7:00pm.

Man Pinned Under Car Rescued

(HURON EAST, ON) – A citizen that heard a call for help and took some action led to the discovery of a man trapped beneath a vehicle early this morning in Seaforth.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a Seaforth resident that reported they could hear someone yelling for help. OPP officers responded to the Coleman Street area and soon after an officer started hearing the same calls for help. Shortly after the investigating officer tracked the sound to the Seaforth Lion’s Park on Huron Road where they found a male pinned beneath a four-door hatchback. 

Huron County Paramedic Services and Huron East Fire Department arrived on scene and the fire crew was able to jack up the car and safely remove the trapped man. The injured 34-year-old was transported to hospital where he was later treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators learned the victim had been doing some work on the exhaust of his car when the jack shifted causing the car to drop and trap him below.

Impaired Driver Arrested In Mildmay

(MILDMAY, ON) – On May 3, 2021 at 12:42 a.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Absalom Street east in Mildmay. The officer noted the driver was showing signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and transported to the South Bruce OPP Detachment where they completed an evaluation conducted by a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE). Upon completion of the evaluation, the driver was deemed to be impaired by a drug.

Joshua KING, 35-years-old, of Carrick Township, was charged with Impaired Driving and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2021 to answer to the charges.

This charge includes an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment and an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension.

Mobility Scooter Stolen In Seaforth

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking tips from the public to help track down a personal mobility scooter that was stolen from a residence in Seaforth last week.

The stolen electric mobility scooter was taken from a Sills Street home sometime between 3:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on April 26, 2021. The stolen scooter is described as a maroon and black Pegasus, Model Come XL valued at approximately $1,200. The scooter had a crack on the right front side.

The stolen scooter is valued at roughly $1,200.
