Matthew ARMSTRONG Was Arrested Again! #3Strikes


(HURON EAST, ON) – 
The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident following an incident in the Town of Seaforth, Municipality of Huron East on January 06, 2026.

On Tuesday, January 06, 2026, just before 8:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about a suspicious vehicle in Huron East. Police located a pickup truck in Seaforth, which was parked with a snowmobile in the box of the truck. The snowmobile was reported stolen in 2025. The suspect was located nearby, taken into custody, and charged as follows:

Matthew ARMSTRONG, 44 years-of-age of Bluewater was charged with:

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (two counts),

–      Fraud Over $5,000,

–      Public Mischief,

–      Fail to Comply with Release Order – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody. The accused has a future court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Mandeep SINGH – Drunk Driving

(COCHRANE, ON) – The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a commercial driver following an impaired driving investigation that began during a proactive traffic stop on Highway 11.

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., James Bay OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a commercial motor vehicle parked beside a posted “No Parking” sign in the westbound lane of Highway 11 West. While speaking with the driver, officers observed an open can of alcoholic beverage in the cup holder, along with several unopened cans of alcohol within reach.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Cochrane OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Mandeep SINGH, 28 years of age, of Shelburne, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol

·        Disobey sign

·        Interfere with traffic

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 10, 2026, in Cochrane. The driver was issued a 90‑day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the tractor unit was impounded for seven days.

John RATH – Drunk Driving

(BROCKTON, ON) – On January 25, 2026, at approximately 3:58 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a vehicle was stopped in a live lane of traffic along Concession 14, Municipality of Brockton.

Police attended and located the vehicle, still in the live lane of traffic. The investigating officer spoke with the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver was taken into custody and transported for further testing.

John RATH, 34-years-old, of Arran-Elderslie, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired (B.A.C. 80+), CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on March 4, 2026, to answer to the charge.

David JANSEN – Impaired Driving

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – A driver is facing charges following a two-vehicle collision in Haldimand County.

On January 24, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m., members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Argyle Street and Caithness Street, Caledonia.

The investigation determined that a pick-up truck and a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) collided at that intersection. No injuries were reported.

David JANSEN, 58-years-old of Binbrook has been charged with the following offences:

·        Operation While Impaired

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Follow Too Closely

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on March 10, 2026.

Heidi BRETHOUR Was Arrested Again! #3Strikes

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person and laid multiple charges after a breach of probation.

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, an individual suspected of breaching release conditions, was spotted in the Town of Bancroft. They were arrested and a search resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl.

As a result, Heidi BRETHOUR, 45, of Bancroft has been charged with the following:

·        Fail to Comply with a probation order – 3 counts

·        Fail to comply with a release order – 5 counts

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 27, 2026.

Donald HANNAH Arrested Following Hit & Run

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – One individual was taken into custody following a single vehicle collision in Haldimand County.

On January 24, 2026, members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on McClung Road, Caledonia.

Upon arrival, police located the individual fleeing the scene on foot.

Donald HANNAH, 72-years-old of Hamilton has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to Remain
  • Careless Driving

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on March 3, 2026.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Shaun HEBERT Arrested

(NORTH BAY, ON) – The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual after a stolen pickup truck from North Bay was located in Powassan following a coordinated police response.

On January 22, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the North Bay Police Service (NBPS) notified the North Bay OPP of a recently stolen pickup truck. Information provided indicated the vehicle had been taken from a business on Lakeshore Drive and was last seen travelling southbound.

Officers from the North Bay and Powassan OPP detachments responded to the Highway 11 corridor. With assistance from NBPS and an onboard vehicle-tracking system, officers received ongoing updates on the vehicle’s direction of travel as it moved through Callander and toward Powassan.

While attempting to locate the vehicle, officers observed it travelling a high rate of speed, including rapidly accelerating on rural roads and cutting though snow‑covered ditches.

OPP officers tracked the vehicle to a location behind an outbuilding at a rural property on Genesee Lake Road in Powassan. The area was contained by frontline officers, and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit members attended to assist. Officers approached the vehicle and safely took one individual into custody..

As a result of the investigation, Shaun HEBERT, 48 years of age, of Whitby, has been charged with:

·        Theft of a motor vehicle

·        Dangerous operation

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

·        Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code – five counts

·        Theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle

·        Operate vehicle for which permit is suspended – two counts

·        Use plate not authorized for vehicle

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay.

Home Invasion – James Barkley Arrested

(NORTH STORMONT, ON) An individual from North Stormont Township is facing charges for break and enter in the Crysler area.

On Sunday January 25, 2026, shortly after 2:00 a.m., Officers responded to a report of residential break and enter in the Crysler area.  The suspect, who had fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival, was later located and arrested.   

As a result, James Barkley, age 46 of North Stormont Township, was charged with:

•          Mischief – destroys or damages property – two counts

•          Forcible entry – two counts 

•          Possession of a Schedule I substance – Cocaine

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Saida MOHAMED – Was Arrested

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired by drug charge after single vehicle collision.

On January 26, 2026, at 7:17 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the report of a single vehicle collision on Adelaide Street North near Elginfield Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Saida MOHAMED, a 28-year-old of Etobicoke, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Drive motor vehicle – no licence

·      Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on February 18, 2026.

Pervert Alert – Michael Tyler THOMAS Was Arrested & Released

(ANGUS, ON) – Police have arrested and charged an Angus resident following a child sexual exploitation investigation.  

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU) executed a search warrant at a residence in Angus with assistance from members of the Nottawasaga OPP and the OPP Digital Forensics Unit. Several electronic devices were seized.

As a result of the investigation, Michael Tyler THOMAS, 40 years old of Angus, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·        Possession of chid sexual abuse and exploitation material, section 163.1(4)

·        Importing of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, section 163.1(3)

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on Thursday March 5, 2026.

Amy NICHOL – Drunk Driving

(LONDON, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after collision on Highway 401.

On January 26, 2026, at 8:58 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while travelling westbound on Highway 401 in the City of London near Highbury Avenue, observed a vehicle lose control and collide with the concrete barrier.

There were no injuries reported.

As a result, Amy NICHOL, a 36-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London to speak to the charges on February 25, 2026.

8 Charged in Commercial Driver Test Bribery Scheme

(ORILLIA, ON) – Eight people are facing a combined 24 charges under the Criminal Code following an investigation into fraudulent activities related to commercial driver examinations in Kingston and the Greater Toronto Area.

In January 2024, at the request of the Ministry of Transportation, the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) began an investigation into suspected irregularities in the driver examination process for commercial Class A licences in Ontario.

The SFO investigation revealed that bribes were facilitated in exchange for favourable consideration during specific applicants’ road examinations.

As a result of the investigation, eight individuals have been arrested and charged with 24 offences. Further details relating to the accused and their respective charges are available in the attached Addendum of Charged Persons.

The accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto on Thursday, January 28, 2026.

TERPSTRA & HAMM Arrested Following Indecent Act At Memorial – NH Council’s Disrespect Spreading

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals following an incident that took place on North Line, in the Municipality of Huron East on September 01, 2025.   

On Tuesday, September 02, 2025, police were informed of social media posts that were circulating involving mischief to a roadside memorial site on North Line in Huron East.

Police investigated the matter and subsequently arrested and charged the individuals responsible for the crime. They were charged as follows:

Jacob HAMM, (22 years-of-age at the time of the offence) of Huron East has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Indecent Act,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 23, 2026.

Samuel TERPSTRA, (18 years-of-age at the time of the offence) of Huron East has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Indecent Act.

Violent Home Invasion – Aaron SCHMITT Arrested

(NORTH WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – One person has been charged following an incident in Arthur.

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 4:15 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an altercation at an address in Arthur.

As a result of the investigation, Aaron SCHMITT, a 38-year-old from Arthur, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Assault

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The victim did not sustain any reported injuries.

On January 24, 2026, at 8:08 a.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD), while on general patrol in the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle travelling in the westbound lanes of Highway 401.

A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, kaneesha THOMAS, a 34-year-old of Cambridge, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

·      Fail to stop on right for emergency vehicle

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on February 19, 2026.
