Repeat Offender Arrested In Parkhill – Details Released

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – Driver facing multiple charges after vehicle fails to stop for police.

On May 27, 2025, at 2:14 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a business at 395 Main Street in Lucan, Lucan Biddulph, for the report of a possibly wanted individual.

Police arrived on scene at which time the driver fled the scene at a high rate of speed. A passenger in the vehicle received minor injuries as they were exiting the vehicle as it sped away.

The vehicle failed to stop for police at which time police disengaged due to public safety concerns.

The passenger was transported to hospital as a precaution.

At approximately 4:18 a.m., the suspect vehicle was observed at a business located at 2227 Elginfield Road in Parkhill, North Middlesex, at which time the vehicle again fled from officers. Due to public safety concerns officers did not pursue the vehicle.

The driver was later located on foot in Parkhill. After a brief struggle the accused was placed under arrest.

As a result, Blake COLLINGS, a 21-year-old of no fixed address, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Resist Peace Officer

·      Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm

·      Flight from peace officer

·      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Resist Peace Officer

·      Assault with A Weapon

·      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was held for bail.

Joshua Beam Was Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On May 29, 2025 at 2;10 a.m., officers of the Huntsville O.P.P. were conducting general patrol on King William Street. 

Officers observed a vehicle parked at the rear of a local business with a male apparently asleep inside the vehicle. The interaction quickly evolved into an impaired investigation and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. During the investigation, a schedule 1 substance and a firearm were located inside the vehicle. There is no threat to public safety.

As a result of the investigation, Joshua Beam, 39 years old of Burks Falls Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Possession of schedule 1 substance – trafficking

·      Transport prohibited device

·      Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·      Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition

The accused was held for a Bail hearing on May 29,2025 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

The vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and the accused was also served a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension.

Bank Robbery – Jeffrey QUINTAL Arrested

(RUSSELL TWP, ON) – One person has been arrested after a bank robbery in Russell Township.

On May 27, 2025, just after 9:30 a.m., officers with the Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported robbery in progress at a bank on Concession Street.

The male had fled before officers arrived. Witnesses were able to provide a detailed description of the robber, and the vehicle used to flee the scene.

When an officer located and stopped the stop the car a few minutes later, the driver deliberately collided with the cruiser at low speed. The driver then drove off. Officers with the Hawkesbury Detachment were able to stop the car just before 10:30 a.m. on Highway 417 and a male was arrested without further incident.

Jeffrey QUINTAL, age 40 of Clarence-Rockland, has been charged with:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from a peace officer – two counts
  • Mischief under $5000

The accused remains in custody with a bail hearing scheduled to continue before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on May 29, 2025.

Simon LAUZE Was Arrested

(LOYALIST TWP., ON) – Charges have been laid after reports of a fast moving, swerving vehicle on Highway 401 in Loyalist Township.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, just after 10:00 a.m., officers with the Lennox and Addington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a fast-moving car heading westbound. Officers observed erratic driving behaviour and were able to stop the vehicle west of Shannonville Road. The driver was arrested without incident.

Simon LAUZE, age 31 of Toronto, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Stunt driving

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on July 8, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been seized and suspended for 30 days and their car was impounded for 14 days.

7kg Cocaine Bust

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Four Thunder Bay residents and one individual from Ajax are facing a combined 35 charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act after a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay and the surrounding communities.

In late 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) and the OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) began an intelligence-led investigation into the alleged trafficking of drugs from the Greater Toronto Area to Thunder Bay.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, search warrants were executed on two vehicles and three residences in Thunder Bay by members from PGNG, Thunder Bay OPP Regional Support Team, Thunder Bay OPP Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit, POIB, Thunder Bay Police Service and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.

The following items with approximate quantities were seized:

  •         7.2 kg of suspected cocaine
  •         1 kg of suspected methamphetamine
  •         2.8 grams of suspected fentanyl
  •         295 oxycodone tablets
  •         4 lbs of dried illegal cannabis
  •         280 cannabis vape pens
  •         25 vials of hash oil
  •         Loaded firearm
  •         $126,260 in Canadian currency
  •         8 cell phones

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $836,000.

Social Media Threats Leads To Arrest

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a male after online threats were made towards several parties involved in a previous assault investigation at Couchiching Park.

On May 29, 2025, Orillia OPP began an investigation after being made aware of threats made on a social media platform. Orillia OPP quickly identified a suspect, leading to an arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle ERCOLINI, 39, of Oro-Medonte, has been charged with Uttering Threats – cause death or bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia at a later date to answer to the charge.

$3,000,000 Drug Bust

LONDON, ON (May 28, 2025) – Four men are facing charges after members of the London Police Service Guns and Gangs Section, with the assistance of members of the LPS Emergency Response Unit, Ontario Provincial Police Tactics and Rescue Unit, Hamilton Police Service Emergency Response Unit and Toronto Police Service, executed search warrants at six residences in London, North York, and Hamilton on April 29, 2025.

As a result of the warrants, the following items were seized:

  • 34.665 kg of fentanyl, value: $2,773,200
  • 4.655 kg of crystal methamphetamine, value: $465,000
  • 474 grams of cocaine, value: $47,400
  • Four handguns (three Glocks and one Springfield 9mm Hellcat)
  • One semi-automatic pistol (Draco 7.62)
  • Extended capacity magazines and drum magazines
  • A silencer
  • Ammunition
  • 17.922 kg of cutting agent
  • Approximately $247,944 in Canadian currency
  • Approximately $5526 in American currency

Additionally, six motor vehicles were seized, four as offence-related property (ORP) and two as proceeds of crime (POC):

  • 2017 Black Hyundai Santa Fe (ORP)
  • 2020 Grey Lexus E35 Sedan (ORP)
  • 2017 Black Audi Q4 (ORP)
  • 2013 Red Nissan Altima (ORP)

“Today’s announcement highlights the critical importance of strong enforcement and community collaboration in addressing the opioid crisis and associated violence in our community,” said Chief Thai Truong.  “This investigation has resulted in the largest fentanyl seizure in the history of our police service, along with the seizure of illegal firearms, significantly disrupting drug trafficking and violence in London. Community safety remains a shared responsibility, and together we will continue our efforts to reduce harm, prevent violence, and protect lives.”

As a result of the investigation, Mark Barreiras, 44, and Sajid Bin Saleh, 23, both of Toronto, along with Jordayne Anthony Brown, 33, and Rohan Reid, 34, both of London, have been jointly charged with the following offences:

  • Nine counts of possession of a restricted weapon or device;
  • Five counts of possession of a loaded/regulated firearm;
  • Five counts of careless storage of a firearm/ammunition;
  • Five counts of possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm;
  • Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking;
  • One count of produce a Schedule I substance.

Mark Barreiras, of Toronto, has been additionally charged with the following offences:

  • Three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order;
  • One count of possession of prohibited device contrary to prohibition order.

Rohan Reid, of London, has been additionally charged with one count of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

After their arrests, all four males were held in custody to attend bail court.

Mark Barreiras remains in custody and is scheduled to reappear in London court on May 29, 2025.

Sajid Bin Saleh remains in custody and is scheduled to reappear in London court on May 30, 2025.

Rohan Reid was released from custody and is scheduled to reappear in London court on May 30, 2025.

Jordayne Anthony Brown was released from custody and is scheduled to reappear in London court on June 20, 2025.

BPS Daily Update

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 124 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 26, 2025 to 5:00 am on May 27, 2025.

Motor Vehicle Collison

On the 26th of May at 3:20pm, Belleville Police and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics received a request to attend a business near the intersection of Bell Blvd and Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd regarding a person who had walked into the business seeking medical attention.  When emergency crews arrived on-scene they learned there had been a two-vehicle collision outside the business on the roadway.  Paramedics provided medical attention at the scene.  Following the investigation, police charged an 18-year-old male from Amherstview with fail to yield to traffic. He was issued a Provincial Offences Notice. 

Heavy foot results in two speeding tickets in less than 12 hours to the same driver

On the 26th of May at 8:10am, a member of the Belleville Police Traffic Safety Unit stopped a vehicle on Hwy #37 for speeding at 100km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.  The 31-year-old male from Thurlow was issued a ticket and sent on his way.  Later in the day at 4:13pm, a different officer was patrolling Casey Rd when they observed a vehicle travelling in excess of the speed limit.  The officer stopped the vehicle for travelling at 92km/h in a posted 60km/h zone.  The investigation determined that this was the same driver who was issued a speeding ticket earlier in the day also by the Belleville Police.  The driver was once again issued another speeding ticket.  The driver incurred $327 in fines.

2 Arrested After Standoff

On May 27 2025 at 1:54 pm, Sarnia Police were called to Vidal Street South (north of Devine Street) for a report of an in-progress assault between three males.  Witnesses reported that a Vidal Street South resident was the victim of an assault involving two other males.  During this dispute, one of the two males produced a handgun and pointed it at the 51 year old victim’s head.  As police sirens were heard approaching, the two males fled into a nearby apartment moments before police arrival.

Officers set up containment on the residence and secured the area.  The involved (and potentially armed) individuals refused to exit the residence, necessitating a tactical response.  As the SPS ERT was unavailable due to annual training, assistance from OPP TRU was obtained to provide a tactical presence at the incident.  Negotiations ensued for several hours until both males ultimately surrendered themselves to police at approximately 8:35pm.

This Sarnia Police investigation is still ongoing and all charges have not been finalized.  Further information will be released once the full investigation is concluded. 

At this time, the following individuals have been arrested and are being held for bail on the following charges:

Corey MANESS, 36 years old, of no fixed address:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm 
  • Point Firearm
  • Careless use of a fiream

John NAHMABIN, 54 years old, of no fixed address:

Shoplifting Arrest

A 36-year-old male was arrested Monday morning in connection with a shoplifting incident earlier in the week at a local convenience store. The suspect, previously charged in two other recent shoplifting cases, was held for a court appearance. He was ultimately released by the court. Case #: ST25008789

Intimate Partner Violence Arrest

A 35-year-old male was arrested Monday morning following a domestic dispute that escalated into physical violence. The suspect allegedly pushed the victim after being asked to leave the residence. Police responded and arrested the male without incident. He was transported to police headquarters, held for court, and later released by the court. Case #: ST25008795

Threats and Bail Violations

A 20-year-old male was arrested Monday afternoon after violating his court-ordered conditions by attending an address he is prohibited from visiting. Upon being directed to leave, the suspect allegedly threatened to stab a resident. Police were called, and the suspect was taken into custody. He has been charged with Uttering Threats, Failing to Comply with a Release Order, and Failing to Comply with Probation. He was held overnight for a morning court appearance. Case #: ST25008819

Shoplifting Incidents

Incident 1: Police responded to a grocery store Monday afternoon for reports of an unknown male stealing approximately $50 worth of candy. The suspect fled on a bicycle without attempting to pay. Police are reviewing surveillance footage to identify him. Case #: ST25008822

Incident 2: Police were called to a store in the 1000 block of Talbot St for a reported theft. An older male allegedly concealed several fishing lures in his pants, collapsed two fishing rods, and exited the store without paying for merchandise totaling $173. Police reviewed surveillance footage, identified the suspect, and will be requesting a warrant for Theft Under $5000 and Failure to Comply with Probation. Case #: ST25008823

On May 17, 2025, at approximately 14:56 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of fraud at a local business in Chatham. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a Loss Prevention Officer who provided surveillance footage of a 44-year-old male suspect from Chatham involved in suspicious activity (CK25028607).
The footage showed the suspect entering the store, selecting an item for purchase, and proceeding to the customer service desk where he claimed he was returning the item. A refund was issued to the suspect’s credit card, and he then exited the store.

After reviewing the video footage and transaction records, officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the individual.
On May 26, 2025, at approximately 18:14 hrs, officers attended the suspect’s residence. He was arrested for Fraud Under $5,000 in connection with the prior incident (CK25028607) at the local business.
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters. He was released with a future court date of June 23, 2025.

Motorcyclist Serious Injured

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after a collision in Clarington.

On Monday, May 26, 202,5 at approximately 3:00 p.m., members from East Division attended a motor vehicle collision on Lakeshore Road east of Stephenson Road.  A black Chevrolet pick-up was eastbound on Lakeshore Road going up a grade, the driver moved over the centre line in order to avoid a parked vehicle.  As the pick-up went over the crest, a westbound Suzuki motorcycle being operated by a 61-year-old male from Oshawa had crested the grade. As a result, a collision occurred between the black Chevrolet and the motorcycle in the westbound lane, and the motorcycle rider was ejected from his bike.

The motorcycle rider suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported by Durham EMS to a local area hospital. ORNGE Air Ambulance attended and transferred the male to a Toronto-area Trauma Centre where he remains in the Critical Care Unit with serious life-threatening injuries.

The operator of the pick-up cooperated with Police and was uninjured.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene and investigated the circumstances of the incident. The area of the roadway was closed for a period of time while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.

One Arrested Following Firearm Incident

LONDON, ON (May 27, 2025) – A London man has been arrested after members of the London Police Service responded to a weapons call in the city’s downtown core last night.

Shortly before 10 p.m., last night, police were called after a man was seen showing citizens what appeared to be an alleged firearm in the area of Wellington Street and Horton Street East.

A description of the suspect was provided to police.

Officers located and arrested the man still in the area.

A BB style replica handgun was located and seized.

As a result of the investigation, Brian Robert Redmond, 37, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Carry a concealed weapon; and,
  • Possession of an imitation weapon.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on July 10, 2025, in relation to the charges.

Knife pulled on store staff

A Guelph man faces weapons charges after staff of an east-end store had a knife pulled on them Monday morning.

Approximately 9:15 a.m. police were called by a business near Victoria Road North and Grange Road. A man was inside the store when staff observed him placing items into a plastic bag. They approached and asked to see the contents of the bag, but the man pulled out a knife and gestured towards employees before leaving the store.

The owner of the business attempted to follow the suspect but a short distance away the man approached the complainant’s vehicle with the knife in his hand. Officers located and arrested him a short time later.

A 33-year-old Guelph man is charged with assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft under $5,000 and breaching a probation order. He will appear in court July 4.

Break-in attempt while resident home

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after an attempted break-in Monday while the resident was home.

Shortly before 11 a.m. police were called to an address near Dublin Street North and Green Street. The complainant advised she was attending an online lecture upstairs when she heard several loud bangs and then glass breaking.

She went downstairs and noted a broken window on her front door and glass in the entryway. There were also pry marks on the door and damage to the door and frame.

Witnesses described the male as white with brown hair and wearing all grey and possibly red shoes.

Toyota Highlander stolen

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after an SUV was stolen from an east-end driveway.

Monday morning, a resident of Silurian Drive called to report her black 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander was stolen overnight. Security video showed suspects approaching the vehicle a number of times before it was stolen. At 12:24 a.m. a male described as white with a medium build and wearing shorts and a hoodie was dropped off by a light-coloured four-door sedan and appeared to be looking at the SUV while speaking on the phone.

More than an hour later two males were dropped off by a dark SUV and accessed the vehicle by smashing a window. Both appeared to be carrying corded electrical devices. The males left but minutes later one was dropped off a second time and stole the Highlander.

Repeat thefts still under investigation

The Guelph Police Service continues to investigate after three males targeted the same business twice last month to steal pain management devices.theft suspect

Just after 2:30 p.m. April 22, the three attended a business near Speedvale Avenue and Woolwich Street. One of the men entered the store while the other two waited outside and appeared to be acting as lookouts.

The suspect in the store removed three pain management devices valued at nearly $600. His accomplices opened an entrance door allowing him to flee with the merchandise.

Two days earlier the same three males had acted together to steal another device valued at $250.

The suspect who entered the business both times is described as a white male in his late 30s or 40s, average build and height with “stringy” hair almost to his shoulders and tattoos on his right arm and upper torso. During one of the incidents he was wearing chains around his neck, bracelets on both wrists and white-framed sunglasses.

Murder & Suicide – Names Released

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the deaths of two people on Pheasant Run Drive in Old Barrhaven as a murder-suicide.

The deceased are Virginia Theoret, 82, and Kurt Theoret, 84.

Police responded to the scene this morning after a 911 call made by Mr. Theoret, who subsequently took his own life. This marks Ottawa’s 12th homicide of 2025.

This is a deeply tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends affected.
