Repeat Offenders Arrested Again – PORCHAK & VANHAVERBEKE

(TILLSONBURG, ON) – Members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals after investigating a series of shoplifting incidents that occurred between January 28, 2026, and January 29, 2026, at a shopping centre on Broadway.

On January 29th, 2026, police located and charged two suspects for shoplifting from multiple businesses.

As a result of the investigation, James PORCHAK, a 45-year-old resident of Tillsonburg has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5000 (four counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (five counts)

Dustin VANHAVERBEKE, a 35-year-old resident of Tillsonburg has also been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (four counts)

The accused individuals are currently being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

46 Year Old From Fergus Arrested

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – A driver is charged following a traffic stop on St. David Street North.

On January 29, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive traffic enforcement ON St. David Street North in Fergus and initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle, after suspecting the driver to be impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Jesse NICOL, a 46-year-old from Fergus, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on March 13, 2026.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Eric SOLOMON Was Arrested Again – Drunk Driving

(MOOSONEE, ON) – The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver in connection with an impaired driving investigation involving an individual travelling from Moose Factory to Moosonee.

On January 28, 2026, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the James Bay OPP responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver en route from Moose Factory to Moosonee. A short time later, officers located the vehicle in Moosonee.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Moosonee OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Eric SOLOMON, 35 years of age, of Moosonee, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

·        Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 3, 2026 in Moosonee. Additionally, the driver was issued a 90‑day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).

Fatal Snowmobile Collision

(LOYALIST TOWNSHIP, ON) – A collision involving a snowmobile and pick-up truck in Loyalist Township has left one person deceased.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, around 3:15 p.m., members of the Lennox and Addington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene on County Road 5, between County Road 4 and Newburgh Road.

A snowmobile had collided with a pick-up truck on the roadway.

The rider of the snowmobile, identified as a 61-year-old woman from Kingston, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The occupants of the truck were not hurt.

The investigation by Lennox and Addington County OPP, with the assistance of a Technical Collision Investigation officer and Collision Reconstructionist from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team, is continuing.

Meth Bust – Matthew BRISSEAU

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged with multiple offences following a joint investigation by the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Preventing Auto Theft Unit (PATU) and the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On the morning of Wednesday, January 28, 2026, members of the Norfolk County OPP PATU and Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU executed a search warrant at a property on St. Andrew Street in Port Dover in connection with an investigation into stolen property.

An individual was located on the property and taken into custody without incident. During a search of a residence on the property, officers seized a quantity of firearms and ammunition, as well as suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Photographs of the seized items are attached for reference.

As a result, 31-year-old Matthew BRISSEAU of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – five counts,
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition – four counts,
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose – four counts,
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts,
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin).

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Alan STANDAERT Was Arrested

(LAKESHORE, ON) – A driver has been charged following a single vehicle discovered in a ditch in Lakeshore.

At approximately 4:28 a.m. on January 29, 2026, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a single vehicle in the ditch on County Road 42 at Golfview Dr. in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Alan STANDAERT, 58-years-old of Lakeshore was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on March 13, 2026, to answer to the charge.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment waas initiated for the driver as per statue.

Ankit, SINGH & SINGH Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid numerous charges after a theft from a local business.

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers from Dufferin OPP responded to a report of a shoplift on Riddell Road, near Centennial Road, in the Town of Orangeville. The investigation revealed three individuals attended the store, took thousands of dollars worth of alcohol, and fled in a vehicle without making a payment.

At approximately 4:50 p.m., officers from Caledon OPP located the suspect vehicle involved in a two-vehicle collision on Mayfield Road, near Heart Lake Road, in the Town of Caledon. No injuries were sustained as a result of the collision. Shortly after, all three suspects were taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, three individuals were arrested and charged.

Ankit Ankit, 26, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Failure to stop after accident
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

Iqlovedeep SINGH, 29, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Failure to comply with probation order
  • Possession of an identity document – two counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

Simranjeet SINGH, 27, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Resist peace officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

All three individuals were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.

Arson – Pierre MATTE Arrested

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – An arson investigation leads to charges against one person.

On Sunday October 5, 2026, the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a structure fire in Virginiatown where a residence was engulfed in smoke and flames. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

As a result of the investigation, Pierre MATTE, a 58-year-old of Virginiatown has been arrested and charged with arson – damage to property.

The accused was remanded into custody and is to next appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice January 30, 2026.

Kenneth ROBINSON – Drunk Driving

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged both the driver and passenger after a traffic stop.

On Wednesday January 21, 2026, at approximately 11:25 p.m., members from the Sudbury Traffic Incident Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team of the OPP, conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Highway 17, Sudbury.

The driver, who was also a suspended driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, the driver Kenneth ROBINSON, 53 years-of-age, from Capreol was charged with,

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 3, 2026, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The 54-year-old passenger from Capreol, who was the owner of the vehicle was issued a Provincial Offence, with a charged of, permit unlicenced person to drive motor vehicle.

Colin WILLIAMS & Jeremy WALKER – Impaired Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two local residents with impaired operation-related charges following separate calls for service in Dufferin County.

On January 22, 2026, at approximately 4:18 p.m., Dufferin OPP received a complaint regarding a possible impaired driver who was in the ditch in the area of 30 Sideroad in the Town of Mono. Officers later located the individual on Station Street in the Township of Amaranth, conducted a traffic stop, and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Colin WILLIAMS, a 39-year-old male from Mono, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

On January 24, 2026, just before 10:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check in the area of Centennial Road in the Town of Orangeville. A vehicle entered the checkpoint and, following a brief interaction with officers, an impaired driving investigation was initiated.

Jeremy WALKER, a 26-year-old male from Orangeville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driver – fail to properly wear seatbelt

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Isabelle LEFEBVRE Was Arrested

(BECKWITH TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Gloucester resident with impaired driving.

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Lanark County OPP officers, while on patrol on Cavanaugh Road in Beckwith Township, located a vehicle in the ditch just before 9:15 p.m. After

speaking with the female, the driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Isabelle LEFEBVRE, 33-years-old, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Obstruct a peace officer

·        Failure or refusal to comply with breath demand

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, February 23, 2026.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

65 Year Old Arrested Following Failed Bribery Attempt

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – A Puslinch driver is charged following a collision.

On January 27, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision in a ditch on Brock Road in Puslinch Township. Officers suspected the driver to be impaired. The driver refused to comply with a demand for a breath sample into an approved alcohol screening device and subsequently attempted to bribe an officer.

As a result of the investigation, Frederick BLOW, a 65-year-old from Puslinch, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Bribery of officers
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on April 21, 2026.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – A Wardsville resident has been charged after reports of a disturbance.

On January 26, 2026, at 11:26 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Longwoods Road in Wardsville, Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a disturbance. 

Investigation revealed an individual had been assaulted during the altercation.

As a result, Douglas SWANSON, a 69-year-old of Wardsville, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Assault

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on March 12, 2026, to speak to the charge. 

There were no injuries reported.

22 Year Old From Morris-Turnberry Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – On Wednesday, January 07, 2026, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed an assault on a staff member at the Goderich Hospital.

The suspect was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Caleb HOLTZHAUER, 22 years-of-age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with:

–      Assault.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 23, 2026.

Shawn Mellon – Drunk Driving, Etc.

(INGERSOLL, ON) – An individual from Quebec is facing multiple charges after police observed a vehicle travelling without it’s lights on. 

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 401, near the Town of Ingersoll, when officers observed a vehicle travelling without any of its light’s activated.

Officers stopped the vehicle where further investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen. The driver of the vehicle was also found to be impaired by alcohol.

Shawn Mellon, 35-years-old, of Victoriaville, Quebec, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

·      Possession Property obtained by Crime over $5,000 – in Canada

·      Have care or control of a vehicle or boat with Cannabis readily available

·      Have care or control of a vehicle or boat with open container of liquor

·      Drive without proper real light – motor vehicle

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) was initiated as per statute.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and has since been released from custody. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on February 17, 2026.
