Craig LEGROULX Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(PETROLIA, ON) – Police have made an arrest in connection with recent theft investigations in Petrolia. 

On August 28, 2025, the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of Elgin-Middlesex CSCU, West Region OPP Canine Unit, the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Lambton OPP uniform members, executed a search warrant at an address on Derby Street in Petrolia.

The warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing investigation into two theft incidents that occurred in Petrolia on July 17, 2025, at a business on King Street and on July 24, 2025 at a business on Robert Street, where damage was caused to change machines and money was stolen.

As a result of the investigation, Craig LEGROULX, a 48-year-old of Petrolia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Mischief over $5,000 (two counts)
  • Theft under $5,000 (two counts)
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession Break In Instruments
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)

During the search, police located items used during the commission of the offences as well as other offence-related items.

The accused was release from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on October 28, 2025.

Drug Bust – 2 Arrested

(PETROLIA, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges following a single-vehicle collision.

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-vehicle collision on Petrolia Line, Petrolia, where the involved vehicle fled the scene immediately following the collision.

A short time later, officers located the described vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of Petrolia Line and Plowing Match Road. The vehicle was found unoccupied.

The West Region OPP Canine Unit was deployed and successfully tracked and located two individuals nearby, who were identified as the vehicle’s occupants.

Both individuals were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Rhys BRESETT, 43-years-old of Sarnia and Kevin PLAIN, 58-years-old of no fixed address, have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid.

The accused have been released from police custody and are schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia, on August 13, 2025.

Meth Bust – 3 Arrested

(PETROLIA, ON) – Police have charged three individuals following a traffic stop in Petrolia.

On June 6, 2025, just before 5:30 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), conducted a traffic stop on Oil Heritage Road, near Derby Street, Petrolia.

As a result of the investigation, Kaitlin EMMONS, 24-year-old of Forest, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Jessie EMMONS, 27-year-old of Lambton County and Hayden MILLER, 22-year-old of Petrolia, have been arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine.

The accused were released from police custody and are set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 9, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.

Michael MORGAN Was Arrested

(PETROLIA, ON) – Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system assists officer in stopping and charging a driver from Petrolia.

On January 27, 2025, shortly after 3:45 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol in Petrolia, was alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, of a possible suspended driver.

A traffic stop was initiated on First Avenue.

The investigation revealed the driver was a prohibited driver.

As a result, Michael MORGAN, a 48-year-old of Petrolia, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45-days.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 11, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.

Joseph DERUSH – Assault

(PETROLIA, ON) – A disturbance in Petrolia leads to charges.

On January 24, 2025, shortly after 5:30 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Petrolia Line, Petrolia, for a report of a disturbance.

The investigation revealed that one individual was assaulted, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, Joseph DERUSH, 50-year-old of Petrolia has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Assault
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia on March 10, 2025.

Lyndsey TIGNER – Drunk Driving

(PETROLIA, ON) – A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On December 13, 2024, at approximately 12:08 a.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Wellington Road, south of Dufferin Avenue in Petrolia.

As a result of the investigation, Lyndsey TIGNER, 31-year-old of Petrolia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 9, 2025, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charges.

Jaden BURDETT – Robbery, Assault, Etc.

(PETROLIA, ON) – The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a disturbance.

On December 8, 2024, shortly after 6:30 p.m., members of the Lambton County OPP responded to a disturbance at an address on Petrolia Line, Petrolia.

The investigation revealed the accused assaulted two unknown individuals and then attempted to steal one of the victim’s vehicles.

The accused fled the area prior to police arrival.

Police located the accused at which time they were taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, Jaden BURDETT, 22-year-old of Petrolia was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Assault
  • Robbery with violence
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Public Mischief

No injuries were reported.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on December 11, 2024, in the City of Sarnia.

19 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(PETROLIA, ON) – A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On October 17, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Fletcher Street, Petrolia.

As a result of the investigation, Jaylan MUNDY, 19-year-old of Petrolia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence and Control Act, with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Young driver – B.A.C above zero
  • Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 26, 2024, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charges.

On September 20, 2024, shortly after 10:45 p.m., members of Lambton County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Rail Road Street, town of Petrolia.

As a result of the investigation, Chad COLLEY-VANDERZANDE, 37-year-old of Plympton-Wyoming, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 28, 2024, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charge.

Kyle DRAKE – Drunk Driving

(PETROLIA, ON) – A traffic complaint from a member of the public led to an individual being charged with impaired driving in Petrolia.

On July 17, 2024, at approximately 11:51 a.m., a citizen advised a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) of a collision on Maude Street in which the driver left the scene.

Police located the vehicle and driver shortly thereafter.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle DRAKE, 34-years-old from Petrolia, was charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to remain

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 12, 2024, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charges.

Brent PATTON Was Arrested

(PETROLIA, ON) – An individual was charged in connection with a theft at a local business in Petrolia Monday night after allegedly shoplifting several items and leaving the store on foot.   

On Monday, May 6, 2024, at 9:55 p.m., members of the Lambton detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a business located in the 4400 block of Petrolia Line, Petrolia in relation to a suspected shoplifter.   

Police arrested the individual at a residence a short time later.

Brent PATTON, 19-year-old from Sarnia, Ontario is charged with the following:

  • Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia on June 5, 2024.

Hit & Run – Craig NESBITT Arrested

(PETROLIA, ON) – The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual after a fail to remain collision on Petrolia Line in Petrolia.

On April 13, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m.., police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Petrolia Line between Tank Street and First Avenue. It was reported that a vehicle struck a pickup truck and left the scene. The occupants of the pickup truck that remained on scene were not injured.

On April 14, 2024, an individual was arrested at the Petrolia OPP Detachment.

As a result, Craig NESBITT, 50 years of age from Petrolia has been charged with:

·        Dangerous operation S.320.13(1) CC

·        Fail to remain S.200(1)(a) HTA

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia on May 14, 2024.
