4 Year Old Pedestrian Airlifted To Hospital – Details Released

(PERTH EAST TWP, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and an unloaded commercial motor vehicle on Perth Line 56, just outside of Topping.

On August 1, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police, alongside local emergency services responded to a collision on Perth Line 56, just outside of Topping.

The collision involved an unloaded commercial motor vehicle striking a 4-year-old from Mornington Township.

The child sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was first taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to a trauma centre for further medical treatment.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team attended the scene and is assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

As a result of the collision, Perth Line 56 was closed for several hours, but has since bene reopened.

The investigation is ongoing. Updates will be provided when available.

Fatal E-Bike Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person has died as a result of a collision that occurred in the Township of Perth East.

On May 15, 2025 around 10:00 p.m. the Perth County OPP were called to a collision involving an e-bike on Perth Line 42 that lost control. The lone occupant of the e-bike, a 30-year-old individual from the Township of Perth East, was transported by air ambulance to a local trauma centre where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Pedestrian Struck In Listowel

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Police are seeking assistance with a fail to remain collision that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth.

On May 17, 2025 at around 10:00 p.m. the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the crosswalk at Livingstone Ave South and Elma St W in the Town of Listowel for a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian did not sustain any injuries. The vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival. The vehicle and driver are described as:

  • Newer white compact SUV with a possible dent on the hood from the collision.
  • Young short white female with long dark hair.

Rash Of Break & Enters – Martin ENNS, Daniel NIEKOLEY & 3 Teenage Dirtbags Arrested #3Strikes

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged Five individuals in connection to recent break and enters and property damage in the Township of Perth East.

On April 13th 2025, the OPP launched an investigation after receiving information of a rash of break and enters and property damage over the weekend including Churches and a school in Perth East.

As a result of the investigation Martin ENNS and Daniel NIEKOLEY as well as three youth’s whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) have been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

–      Break and Enter (Two Counts)

–      Mischief Under $5,000 (Three Counts)

In addition, two of the Youth’s were also charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000

19 Year Old Facing Money Laundering & Fraud Charges

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person has been charged in relation to a fraud investigation in the Township of Perth East.

On October 7th, 2024, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched an investigation after receiving information that a business in the Township of Perth East was defrauded of nearly $5,000 through the use of fraudulent cheques.

As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Tiffany ZHOU of Markham, ON was charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

–      Laundering Proceeds of Crime

ZHOU is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 26th, 2025.

26 Year Old From Milbank Arrested

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with 11 criminal offences following a traffic stop in the Township of Perth East.

On March 16th, 2025, police responded to a report threats involving a firearm. Police arrived on scene and took one person into custody without incident.

26-year-old Jacobo HIEBERT of Milbank was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Two counts – Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Two counts – Uttering threats
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Carless use of firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on March 17th, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford.

Andrew BERBERICK Was Arrested Again #RepeatOffender

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Police responded to a report of an individual with a firearm in the Township of Perth East.

On February 22nd, 2025, shortly after 10:00 a.m., members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the Perth East Public Library after receiving a report of a person brandishing a firearm.

As a result of this investigation, Andrew BERBERICK, 48-years-old of Mitchell, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Mischief
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The firearm was determined to be an airsoft gun. There were no injuries. 

The accused was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear for bail court on February 23rd, 2025 out of Stratford, ON.

18 Year Old Deceased – Snowmobile Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – An individual was pronounced deceased following a collision involving a single snowmobile that collided with a tree in the Township of Perth East.

On January 26th, 2025, members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Perth County Emergency Medical Services and Perth East Fire Department attended a collision on the trail near Perth Road 140.

The 18-year-old male driver and was transported to a local trauma centre where he was pronounced deceased.

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club trail between Perth Road 135 and Road 140 was closed while the OPP Technical Collision Investigation were on scene investigating the collision. The trail has since been re-opened, but the investigation is ongoing.

Nikhil Batta Impaired Driving

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A driver is facing charges following a motor vehicle collision in the Township of Perth East.

In the early hours of January 23rd, 2025, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single vehicle collision.

As a result of the investigation, 20-year-old Nikhil Batta of London was arrested and charged with the following offences:

·        Operation while Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code

·        Have Care or Control of a Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act 2017

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on March 3rd, 2025.

Snowmobile Collision – Life Threatening Injuries

(PERTH EAST, ON) – An individual sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision involving a single motorized snow vehicle (MSV) in the Township of Perth East.

On January 16th, 2025 members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Perth County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Perth East Fire Department attended a collision on the OFSC trail near Road 145.

The collision involved the lone driver of a motorized snow vehicle that was ejected after colliding with an obstruction.

The 59-year-old male driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local trauma centre.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by members of the Perth County OPP.

The Perth County OPP wants to remind all users of MSVs to always be aware of your surroundings, check the OFSC trail conditions, and have proper safety equipment prior to heading out on the trails.

Fatal Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person has died following a motor vehicle collision in the Township of Perth East this morning.

On December 5, 2024 just after 6:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Perth County Paramedic Services, and the North Perth Fire Department, responded to a motor vehicle collision on Perth Line 86, between Perth Road 136 and Perth Road 140, in the Township of Perth East to a report of a plow truck that collided with a passenger vehicle.

As a result of the collision a 33-year-old from Gowanstown was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the plow truck was uninjured.

The investigation is ongoing. Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) Team and Reconstruction are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

The area of Perth Line 86 between Perth Road 131 and Perth Road 140 remains closed for the protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation, and will likely be closed for a number of hours.

Fatal Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Two people have died following a motor vehicle collision in the Township of Perth East this afternoon.

On November 6, 2024 just before 3:30 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Perth County Paramedic Services, and the Perth East Fire Department, responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 121, at the intersection of Line 67, in Perth East. A passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle had collided.

Two occupants of the passenger vehicle, a 75-year-old and 76-year-old, both from Woolwich, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the commercial motor vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

The area of Perth Road 121 between Perth Line 72 and Line 67 remains closed for the protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation, and will likely be closed for a number of hours.

Clive CAUSON – Drunk Driving

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A driver is facing an impaired driving charge as a result of an OPP RIDE check.

On August 30, 2024, at 9:10 p.m., members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Perth Line 55 near Perth Road 131, in the Township of Perth East.

A vehicle entered the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

It was determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment where further tests were administered. 

As a result, Clive CAUSON, a 62-year-old of Wellesley, has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus). 

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on October 7, 2024 to speak to the charges.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A pedestrian is deceased following a collision north of Milverton.

On June 25, 2024 at approximately 10:59 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Perth East Fire Department responded to a collision involving a single motor vehicle and a pedestrian on Perth Road 131.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old individual from Waterloo, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Perth County OPP, with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continues to investigate the collision.

Perth Road 131 between Line 67 and Line 72 was closed for several hours to allow for investigation. The road has since seen reopened.

Another Grooming/Pride Flag Stolen

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft that occurred in the Township of Perth East.

Sometime between Friday June 21, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday June 22, 2024 at 7:00 a.m., individual(s) stole the Canadian flag and Pride flag from the front lawn of a business on Mill St East in the town of Milverton.  The flags had been flying at half mast at the time of the theft.  The Canadian flag was located a short distance away, but the Pride flag has not been recovered.

Police are requesting assistance from the public regarding any information, or video surveillance in the area of Mill St East in Milverton.

The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided when available.
