Fatal Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Two people have died following a motor vehicle collision in the Township of Perth East this afternoon.

On November 6, 2024 just before 3:30 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Perth County Paramedic Services, and the Perth East Fire Department, responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 121, at the intersection of Line 67, in Perth East. A passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle had collided.

Two occupants of the passenger vehicle, a 75-year-old and 76-year-old, both from Woolwich, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the commercial motor vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

The area of Perth Road 121 between Perth Line 72 and Line 67 remains closed for the protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation, and will likely be closed for a number of hours. 

Updates will be provided as required.

Clive CAUSON – Drunk Driving

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A driver is facing an impaired driving charge as a result of an OPP RIDE check.

On August 30, 2024, at 9:10 p.m., members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Perth Line 55 near Perth Road 131, in the Township of Perth East.

A vehicle entered the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

It was determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment where further tests were administered. 

As a result, Clive CAUSON, a 62-year-old of Wellesley, has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus). 

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on October 7, 2024 to speak to the charges.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A pedestrian is deceased following a collision north of Milverton.

On June 25, 2024 at approximately 10:59 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Perth East Fire Department responded to a collision involving a single motor vehicle and a pedestrian on Perth Road 131.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old individual from Waterloo, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Perth County OPP, with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continues to investigate the collision.

Perth Road 131 between Line 67 and Line 72 was closed for several hours to allow for investigation. The road has since seen reopened.

Another Grooming/Pride Flag Stolen

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft that occurred in the Township of Perth East.

Sometime between Friday June 21, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday June 22, 2024 at 7:00 a.m., individual(s) stole the Canadian flag and Pride flag from the front lawn of a business on Mill St East in the town of Milverton.  The flags had been flying at half mast at the time of the theft.  The Canadian flag was located a short distance away, but the Pride flag has not been recovered.

Police are requesting assistance from the public regarding any information, or video surveillance in the area of Mill St East in Milverton.

The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided when available.

Fatal 3 Vehicle Collision – Hwy 86 Closed

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person is deceased following a collision involving three motor vehicles in Perth County.

On March 30th , 2024, just after 4:00 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Wellington County OPP, Perth East Fire Services, Mapleton Fire Services, Perth County Paramedic Services, and ORNGE responded to a report of a three-vehicle collision on Line 86 between Road 121 and Road 124 in the Township of Perth East.

A 64-year-old resident of North Perth was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One person was transported to a trauma center by ORNGE.

Four people were transported to local hospital.  

Perth Line 86 remains closed between Road 121 and Road 124 due to the on-going investigation. Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

Collision Closes Road

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently on scene of a motor vehicle collision that occurred in Perth County.

 On March 17, 2024, just before 9:00 a.m., Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedic Services, Perth East Fire Services, and ORNGE responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles in the area of Road 121 and Line 67 in the Township of Perth East. 

One person was transported by ORNGE to a trauma center. Two people were transported to local hospital. Injuries have been determined to be non-life threatening at this time. 

Road 121 remains closed between Line 61 and Perth Line 72 (Millbank) and Line 67 remains closed from Road 124 to Road 116 while OPP continue to investigate.

Fatal Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person is deceased following a single vehicle collision in Perth County.

On March 6, 2024, just before 11:00 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Stratford Police Service, Perth County Paramedic Services, and Perth East Fire Services responded to a report of a tractor that had left the roadway on Line 29 between Road 111 and Road 112.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Line 29 remains closed between Road 111 and Road 112 due to the on-going investigation. Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.
