6 Injured in Hwy 40 Crash in Chatham-Kent — 87-Year-Old Critical

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) Six people were injured after a serious collision on Highway 40 (St. Clair Road) in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at approximately 3:46 p.m., Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 40.

An 80-year-old of Chatham-Kent was taken to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the same vehicle, 87-year-old of Chatham-Kent was taken to local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, 67-year-old of Chatham-Kent and three passengers, 41,19 and 14-years-old of Lambton County were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Members from the OPP Technical Collision Investigation team and West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team attended to assist in the investigation.

Highway 40 was closed for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.

The investigation is continuing.

Sterling BROWN Was Arrested

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A motorist has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped at a RIDE program in Prince Edward County.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, around 11:00 p.m., officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Salmon Point Road and County Road 18.

Officers located and stopped a pick-up truck in the area. The driver was arrested, and open alcohol was located within the vehicle.

The individual was transported to the detachment for testing.

Sterling BROWN, age 45 of Kingston, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on October 27, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Two Caledon Men Busted After Stolen Tractor-Trailer Chase on Hwy 401

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has recovered a stolen vehicle and charged two individuals.

On September 29, 2025, at approximately 6:20 a.m., police responded to a report of a tractor-trailer believed to have been stolen from Cornwall and travelling westbound on Highway 401 from Belleville.

OPP attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to comply and exited the highway at County Road 25 in the Township of Cramahe.

Officers were at the location shortly after the driver stopped the vehicle spanning the roadway.

Two persons fled on foot and both were taken into custody shortly afterwards.

The OPP Canine Unit (K9) was dispatched to assist with a search of the vehicle.

As a result, Gurmanveer SINGH (25) from Caledon, has been charged with:

–       Theft of motor vehicle

–       Theft over $5,000

–       Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – two counts

–       Mischief under $5,000

–       Possession of break in instruments

–       Dangerous operation

–       Flight from peace officer

–       Resist peace officer

Anshdeep KANG (21) from Caledon, has been charged with:

–       Theft of motor vehicle

–       Possession break in instruments

–       Theft over $5,000

–       Mischief under $5,000

–       Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – two counts

–       Resist peace officer

Both accused were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.

Fatal Crash on Hwy 6 North of Wiarton: 90-Year-Old Lion’s Head Driver Killed

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Grey-Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are on scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 6 at Mar Sideroad, north of Wiarton.

On October 2, 2025, at 11:31 a.m., the Grey-Bruce OPP, Bruce County Paramedic Services, North & South Bruce Peninsula Fire Departments responded to Highway 6 and Mar Sideroad for a two vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a water truck.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 90-year-old from Lions Head was pronounced deceased.

Members from the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) team and West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team will be attending to assist in the investigation.

Highway 6 is closed between Bruce Road 9 and Howdenvale Road. Additional road closures have been placed at Bruce Road 9 and Mar Sideroad, Highway 6 and Greig Settlement Road, as well as Red Bay Road and Huron Road. Please use Bruce Road 9 as an alternate route through the area.

Trail of Destruction: Mono Driver Charged With Assault, Dangerous Operation & Flight

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Town of Mono resident with multiple Criminal Code driving offences after striking vehicles on Wednesday morning.

On October 1, 2025, Dufferin OPP officers responded to reports of a vehicle driving out of control, striking vehicles from Broadway in the Town of Orangeville all the way to Primrose, leaving a trail of destruction behind. The officers acted quickly and located the heavily damaged vehicle at the intersection of Highway 10 and 89 in the Town of Mono. They successfully blocked the vehicle from proceeding further, preventing additional damage and ensuring the safety of community members.

Brian HALBERT, a 46-year-old male from the Town of Mono, has been charged with:

• Assault with a Weapon x 2

• Dangerous Operation

• Failure to Stop After Accident x 2

• Flight from Peace Officer

Sherry White Was Arrested

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Mississippi Mills resident with impaired driving.

Officers responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, just after 4:00 p.m. in the Town of Carleton Place.

The officers located the vehicle, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Sherry White, 54-years-old, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, November 3, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Goderich Assault – Repeat Offender Arrested & Released Again #Catch&Release #3Stikes

(GODERICH, ON) – On Friday, September 26th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault on Kingston Street in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed an assault on an individual standing outside a business on Kingston Street.

The suspect was arrested nearby and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

Amber COLEMAN, 33 years-of-age from Goderich has been charged with:

–      Assault,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order – (four counts).

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on October 20, 2025.

3 Arrested in Stolen Vehicle Stop: Weapons, Meth & Cash Seized in Guelph-Eramosa

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals following a traffic stop. 

On October 1, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP, was conducting proactive patrol when their cruiser’s Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system registered a “hit” on a stolen motor vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Fourth Line in Guelph Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation three individuals were placed under arrest.

Ryan MCKAY, a 44-year-old from Wellington North Township, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000

MCKAY was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph.

Michael PURCELL, a 43-year-old from Cambridge, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Driving while under suspension

PURCELL was released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 7, 2025.

Lastly, Sarah WILBEE, a 39-year-old from Cambridge, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000

WILBEE was released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 7, 2025.

$16K in Cocaine & Fentanyl Seized in Parry Sound OPP Raid — 4 Arrested

(PARRY SOUND, ON) – The North East Region Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged multiple people with drug offences.

On September 30, 2025, members of the North East Region CSCU assisted by West Parry Sound OPP Detachment executed a drug warrant at a residence on Isabella Street in the Town of Parry Sound.

A search of the residence, officers seized $1300 in Canadian currency and a quantity of drugs suspected to be cocaine and fentanyl with an estimated street value of $16,000.

Christopher THERRIEN, 41-years-of-age of Barrie Ontario, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – other opioid
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00
  • Fail to comply with probation
  • Fail to comply with release order

The accused was held for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound and is scheduled to appear on October 16, 2025.

Brandon DEACON, 33-years-of-age of Whitestone, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – other opioid
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with probation
  • Fail to comply with release order

The accused was held for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound and is scheduled to appear on October 3, 2025.

Cassandra SHELLEY, 36-years-of-age of Parry Sound, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – other opioid
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on November 6, 2025.

Dale CRIBBIE, 51-years-of-age of Parry Sound, was arrested and charged with:

Several Sent To Hospital – Albert VEENSTRA Arrested

(CARLING, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person after a multi vehicle collision

On October 1, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m. members of the West Parry Sound OPP were dispatched to a report of a collision involving multiple vehicles on Highway 69 near Woods Road in Carling Township. Several people were brought to a Parry Sound area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and others were treated at the scene.

Albert VEENSTRA, 54 years-of-age of Drayton Ontario was charged with careless driving.

The highway was closed for several hours during the investigation and clean up and has since reopened.

5 Drivers Pulled From Dufferin Roads in OPP Crackdown (Sept 19–29)

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged five individuals with impaired driving-related offences between September 19 and September 29, 2025.

OPP officers from the Dufferin Detachment have been actively working to keep our roads safe by removing impaired drivers from the community. During this period, five drivers were taken off the road, helping to ensure safer travel for everyone in Dufferin County.

Anton BILONOZHENKO, a 38-year-old male from North York, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed

• Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit

Arvindpal DHILLON, a 44-year-old male from Shelburne, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Asdrubal SIBAJA BURKE, a 26-year-old male from North York, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Josue DELGADO, a 26-year-old male from North York, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Gregory SWEET, a 31-year-old male from East Garafraxa, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licences have been suspended, and their vehicles impounded.

(SHAWANAGA FIRST NATION, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On September 28, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m. the West Parry Sound OPP received information regarding a possible impaired driver on Highway 69 near Shawanaga First Nation. The vehicle was located and stopped; officers spoke with the driver and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Cassidy UDRIS, 36 years-of-age of Brampton Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80plus)
  • Driving a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on November 6, 2025. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Highway 17 Fatal: Pick-Up Driver Pronounced Dead After Collision With Transport in Oxdrift

(OXDRIFT, ON) – Members of the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a two-vehicle collision that has resulted in a fatality.   

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Dryden OPP, Dryden Fire Services, and Emergency Medical Services responded to reports of a head-on collision involving a transport truck and a pick-up truck on Highway 17 at Latimer Road in Oxdrift.  

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 27-year-old male from Sioux Lookout, was pronounced deceased on scene and the passenger of the transport truck was transported to hospital with minor injuries. 

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction teams. A section of Highway 17 was closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were on scene. The road has since re-opened.
