Dwayne GALLANT – Drunk Driving

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – An individual was taken into custody following a traffic complaint on Ojibway Road, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

On November 29, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located, and a traffic stop was initiated.

Dwayne GALLANT, 48-years-old of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, has been charged with the following offence:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on January 13, 2026.

Police Cruiser Damaged In Goderich Incident – Trevor STRUTH Arrested Again #3Strikes

(GODERICH, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident in the Town of Goderich on November 15, 2025.

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, just before 2:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about an individual who was reportedly causing a disturbance at a retail business property on Huron Road in Goderich. Police located the suspect, who proceeded to hit a police cruiser with a hockey stick, then flee on a bicycle. The accused was later located, arrested, and charged as follows:

Trevor STRUTH, 48 years-of-age of no fixed address was charged with:

–      Causing a Disturbance,

–      Assault a Peace Officer,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (three counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were later released from custody. The accused has a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 15, 2025.

Craig SWIRZON Was Arrested

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – A Burlington driver is arrested following a collision in Puslinch.

On December 6, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision into a ditch on Watson Road in Puslinch, after receiving a complaint from a concerned citizen, who suspected the driver to be impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Craig SWIRZON, a 51-year-old from Burlington, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused did not sustain any injuries.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on December 19, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

T. Keith POWERS – Fraud & Firearm Charges

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Anti-Rackets Branch (ARB) has charged one individual following an extensive investigation into suspected irregularities in archaeological reports.

In February 2024, members of the OPP ARB initiated an investigation after receiving information of suspected fraud related to archeological surveys submitted to the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism.

As a result of the investigation, on Monday, November 24, 2025, T. Keith POWERS, 60 years of age of Aurora, was charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Mount Forest Incident – Ashley HOTCHKISS Arrested

(WELLINGOTN NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – An incident in Mount Forest has led to drug possession charges for an Arthur resident.

On December 6, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an incident at an address in Mount Forest where they found an individual to be in possession of methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Ashley HOTCHKISS, a 38-year-old from Arthur, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on January 6, 2026.

One Airlifted After School Bus Collision

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On December 8, 2025, at approximately 8:23 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a two vehicle collision on Highway 10 at Sideroad 70, Township of Chatsworth.

Police attended the scene and discovered a collision involving a school bus and a pickup truck. Two students on board of the school bus were transported to a local hospital. The driver of the pickup truck has been air lifted to a London area trauma centre.

Highway 10 is closed between Sideroad 60 and Sideroad 80. Sideroad 70 is closed between East Back Line and West Back Line. Closure will be in place while investigators determine the cause of the collision. Updates to follow when available.

Derek BROWN – Drunk Driving, Etc.

(THESSALON, ON) – A person was charged for impaired after being stopped for speeding on Highway 17 near Government Road. 

On December 7, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a west bound blue pickup truck on Highway 17 travelling at a high rate of speed. The driver emanated a strong odour of alcoholic beverage and displayed signs of intoxication. After a roadside test, the driver was subsequently arrested and vehicle towed and impounded. In addition, an open alcohol can was located in the center console of the pickup truck.    

Derek BROWN, 42-years-old, from Hanmer was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol 

• Operation while impaired – blood concentration 80 plus 

• Dangerous operation

• Speeding

• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on January 8, 2026.

Miguel GAUTHIER – Drunk Driving

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with impaired operation after conducting a traffic stop.

On Saturday December 6, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP, conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Highway 17, Sudbury.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to an OPP detachment for further testing, a search of the vehicle located open liquor.

As a result of the investigation, Miguel GAUTHIER, 40 years-of-age, from Quebec, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 7, 2026, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Samuel Strome – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH-WEST OXFORD, ON) – An individual from Brant County is facing impaired driving related charges after police received a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver.

On December 7, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driving, on Highway 401 near the City of Woodstock, in the Township of South-West Oxford. Officers patrolled and subsequently located the vehicle.

Samuel Strome, 19-years-old, of Brant County, is charged with:

·      Operation While Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on January 27, 2026.

60 Year Old From ACW Arrested – Name Released

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township resident with an impaired driving offence following a traffic stop on November 15, 2025, in the Town of Goderich. 

Just after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle on Wolfe Street in Goderich. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation.

The accused provided breath samples before a qualified OPP Intoxilyzer Breath Technician at the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton. Breath samples provided to police resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Christopher PLANT, 60 years-of-age from ACW Twp has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – Over 80.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 29, 2025.

Jeffery SMITH Arrested Following Collsion

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with dangerous operations and stunt driving.

On Friday December 5, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E) Team of the OPP observed a vehicle travelling over 50 kilometre per hour (km/h) in a  posted 90 km/h zone on Highway 17, Sudbury.

No injuries were reported when the driver attempted to avoid police and collided into a post.

As a result of the investigation, Jeffery SMITH, 36 years-of-age, from Markstay-Warren, was charged with, dangerous operation and drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday February 18, 2026, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 30-day Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested – Names Released

(LAKESHORE, ON) – Three separate drivers have been charged with impaired over 24-hour span.

 On December 6, 2025, at approximately 2:11 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a single vehicle collision on County Road 46 near Lakeshore Road 217 in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Andrew EMMONS, 18-years-old of Belle River was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Person under 19 years – possess cannabis

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on December 17, 2025, to answer to the charges.

On December 6, 2025, at approximately 5:34 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a two-vehicle collision on Renaud Line Road near Rosewood Drive in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Thomas GAMMON, 38-years-old of Belle River was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation

The accused was held for court to answer to the charges.

On December 6, 2025, at approximately 8:39 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on North Talbot Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Sandro DEL BROCCO, 39-years-old of Kingsville was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous Operation

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on December 23, 2025, to answer to the charges.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated for both drivers as per statute.

Assault – Cameron MCINTOSH-BARTON & Ryan GODFREY

(PICTON, ON) – Three people have been charged following an assault in Picton, Ontario.

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, shortly after 6:30 p.m., the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault outside a business on Picton Main Street.

Officers identified and arrested two suspects later that evening. Both were taken into custody without incident.

Cameron MCINTOSH-BARTON, age 33 of Cherry Valley, has been charged with:

  • Mischief
  • Assault – two counts

Sidney HILTON, age 30 of Picton, has been charged with:

  • Assault
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

As part of the investigation, it was also revealed that a knife was involved during the altercation. Subsequently, officers have charged:

Ryan GODFREY, age 27 of Belleville, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

All three accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton at a later date.

The OPP reminds residents that carrying or using edged weapons during disputes can lead to serious injuries or criminal charges. If you feel threatened or unsafe, walk away and call police immediately. Violence is never the solution.

Numerous Assaults In ACW #WaitInTheTruck

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) – On November 11, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh (ACW).

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.

A 44-year-old individual from ACW Twp has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal – (six counts),

–      Assault with a Weapon – (two counts),

–      Aggravated Assault – Spousal,

–      Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Spousal – (four counts),

–      Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm – Spousal.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing. The accused was later remanded into custody with a later court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Residential Explosion

 (BAYHAM, ON) – Emergency services responded to a report of an explosion in the Municipality of Bayham.

On December 5, 2025, at approximately 10:36 a.m. the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Bayham Fire & Emergency Services (BFES) department, responded to a report of an explosion and fire at a residential property on Sandytown Line in the Municipality of Bayham.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but the residence was heavily damaged from the explosion. The residence was empty at the time of the incident, and no one was injured.

Sandytown Line is temporarily closed between Stewart Road and Maple Grove Line while the Ontario Fire Marshals conduct their investigation.

The OPP will aid with holding the scene while the Ontario Fire Marshals investigate.

There is no risk to public safety.
