Fatal Collision

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision on King Street, in the Town of Caledon.

On September 22, 2024, shortly after 8:00 a.m., Caledon OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on King Street, near Creditview Road. The collision occurred between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 60-year-old of Brampton, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

King Street Between Creditview Road and Chinguacousy Road was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists assisted with the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Fatal Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF ALNWICK-HALDIMAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a single vehicle collision in the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand.

On September 22, 2024, at approximately 2:05 a.m., Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand Fire Department and OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle, south of Davis Road on County Road 45.

A 73-year-old motorcycle rider from Roseneath, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OPP Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) members and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

County Road 45 was closed in the area at Woodland Road and County Road 29 until approximately 10:00 a.m. This investigation is on-going and updates will be provided when available.

Northumberland OPP are asking for anyone who may have witnessed, has video/dash cam footage or information relating to the collision and has not yet spoken with police, to contact the Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Morrison Line Collision Sends Two To Hospital

(HURON EAST, ON) – On September 22, 2024, at 2:28 a.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Morrison Line between Mill Road and Roman Road, Municipality of Huron East.

Two individuals were transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local hospital; one with significant injuries.

Road closures were placed at the scene for the protection of emergency responders; the roadway remains closed at this time.

The Huron County OPP is continuing to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME).

Alexandria AESSIE – Impaired Driving

(ORILLIA, ON) – Officers from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a female party following a single motor vehicle crash in the City of Orillia.

At 8:00 a.m., on September 21, 2024, Orillia OPP responded to a call for a motor vehicle hitting a tree in a parking lot on West St. S and King St. Police were advised the lone vehicle driver was possibly impaired.

Upon arriving on scene police entered into an impaired investigation and observed several signs of impairment.

As a result of this investigation, Alexandria AESSIE, 28-year-old of Oro-Medonte has been charged with:

CC 320.14(1)(a) Operation while impaired- alcohol and drug

CDSA 4(1) Adult Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine

HTA 53(1.1) Adult Driving while under suspension – while suspended under HTA Sec 41/42

The accused was held for a bail hearing and her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle was impounded for a period of 7 days.

Drug Bust – Joshua Anderson TRUDEAU Arrested

(ORANGEVILLE, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a local male with trafficking drugs.

On September 19, 2024, member of the Dufferin Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of Caledon CSCU, Central Region K-9 and Dufferin platoon members, executed a search warrant on Madison Avenue in the Town of Orangeville. As a result of the search, a local resident faces multiple drug related charges.

Joshua Anderson TRUDEAU, a 35-year-old from Orangeville has been charged with:

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Opioid

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Fentanyl

·      Traffick in Schedule I substance- Cocaine

·      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

·      Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking (two counts)

As a result of the investigation the following was recovered:

·      62 grams of Cocaine

·      18 Hydromorphone Pills

·      4 grams Fentanyl

·      7 Acid Tabs

·      6 Morphine Pills

Two Facing Firearms Charges After Traffic Stop

(MUSKOKA LAKES TWP, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people with serious offenses after a traffic stop in Muskoka Lakes Township on September 14, 2024.

On September 14, 2024, at 12:10 a.m., a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting speed enforcement on Muskoka Road 169 near Acton Island Road in Muskoka Lakes Township and encountered a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and the officer conducted a traffic stop. One occupant of the vehicle expressed that they required medical care, Muskoka EMS attended to assist and transported them to hospital for an unrelated and non-life-threatening condition.

Officers continued their investigation and subsequently arrested and charged 34-year-old Clayton EISAN of Port Carling, ON with the following:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) CDSA5(2)

Harold ROBERSTON – Was Arrested

(SUDBURY, ON) – One person was arrested and charged after the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system alerted officers of a possible suspended driver.

On September 20, 2024, at approximately 9:50 a.m., members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol, and conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Goodview Road, in the City of Greater Sudbury, when the ALPPR alerted officers of a suspended driver.

The driver was found to be a prohibited driver and was arrested, as a result of the investigation, Harold ROBERSTON, 67-years-of-age, from Falconbridge, was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code – two counts
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 9, 2024, in Sudbury. The vehicle was impounded for 45-days, at the cost of the owner.

All OPP patrol vehicles are equipped with ALPR technology. ALPR has proven to be an effective way to increase the efficiency of discovering and conducting investigations related to both traffic and criminal offences. It does so by detecting licence plates that are linked to occurrences such as wanted or missing persons, stolen vehicles, stolen and unattached plates, suspended/prohibited drivers, vehicles associated with AMBER Alerts and other serious occurrences.

Landon BISHOP – Hit & Run

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with Impaired Operation following a call from a concerned citizen.

On September 17, 2024, shortly before 5:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had collided with several parked cars on Kentbridge Court in Bolton. Shortly after, officers also received a report advising that youths were seen passed out with a “bong” at a park near Cherry Lane in Bolton. Police attended to investigate.

As a result of the investigation, Landon BISHOP, 18, of Bolton, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance

·      Fail to Remain

·      Novice driver – presence of drug

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on October 7, 2024, to answer to the charges. Their driver’s license was also suspended for a period of 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven.

The OPP remains committed to keeping our communities safe through enforcement and public education. Drivers who are impaired by drugs or alcohol continue to pose a significant threat on Ontario roads. Whether a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired, and impaired driving is dangerous regardless of the source ofimpairment. Hamza Suleiman JAMA Was Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON)- On September 18, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a weapons call involving an eastbound white SUV that had fired gunshots at another unknown vehicle on Highway 17 west of the Town of Iron Bridge.

The shooting incident had occurred 45 minutes prior to 3:15 p.m., resulting in the white SUV fleeing the scene and travelling eastbound on Highway 17. Later, the Manitoulin OPP observed the suspect SUV travelling eastbound on Highway 17 near the Town of Massey. At approximately 3:45 p.m., Manitoulin OPP initiated a traffic stop on Highway 17 near Mary Street in the Town of Webbwood. OPP and APS conducted a High Risk take down and arrested the SUV driver and passenger.

Both individuals, and the vehicle were searched with police seizing Canadian currency in the amount of $272 from the driver, $3000 from the passenger and $100,000 in the vehicle, three cell phones, a small amount of cannabis marihuana, drug paraphernalia as well as the SUV. 

As a result, the driver, Hamza Suleiman JAMA, 27 years-of-age from Brampton was charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order-other that to attend court
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Espanola on September 19, 2024, and was remanded into custody.

The investigation is continuing.

3 Arrested At RIDE


(BALDWIN TOWSHIP, ON)- Police seize loaded handgun, Canadian currency and a large amount of drugs.

On September 16, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) initiative on Highway 17 in Mckerrow.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., a black Suburban entered the RIDE program. While speaking to the driver, police detected the smell of freshly burned cannabis that was emanating from inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle ensued with police locating a loaded 9mm Glock handgun, ammunition, over $1200 in Canadian currency, suspected cannabis marihuana, over four kilos of suspected cocaine, over 2400 tablets of suspected Hydromorphone tablets (approximate street value of the drugs $300,000).

As a result, the driver, Shahab, STANIKZAI, 43 years-old from Irondale, was charged with:

  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited weapon or restricted weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking-cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid (other than heroin)
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The front passenger Ali HAMAT, 40 years-old from Mississauga was charged with:

  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited weapon or restricted weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking-cocaine

The rear passenger Manasseh OSEI TUTU, 30 years-old from Brampton was charged with:

  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo

  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited weapon or restricted weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Carrying concealed weapon

Aaron REDICK – Impaired Driving

(STONE MILLS TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired driving related offences.

On September 18, 2024, just after 7:00 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE check stop on County Road 27 just north of Newburg. Officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a test on the driver with an Approved Screening Device (ASD), and the driver was subsequently arrested and brought back to the Napanee detachment for further testing.

As a result, Aaron REDICK, age 34, of Loyalist Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on October 8, 2024.

5 Arrested After Violent Robbery

(HAMILTON, ON) – Four members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (MC) and one member of the Red Devils MC have been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and robbery in connection to an incident that took place in Hamilton in July 2024.

On July 4, 2024, an assault occurred at an establishment located in Hamilton. During the assault, the accused robbed the victim of personal items. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU), in collaboration with Hamilton Police Service (HPS), began an investigation into the occurrence. On August 21, 2024, the BEU and HPS executed search warrants at the residences of the accused. Search warrants were also executed at the Hells Angels MC clubhouse and the Red Devils MC clubhouse in Hamilton. 

As a result of the search warrants, police seized four shotguns, three rifles, a shotgun barrel, ammunition, body armour and a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL).

The following individuals have each been charged with assault causing bodily harm and robbery contrary to the Criminal Code:

  • Joel ROLLIN, age 41 of Grimsby
  • Trevor PITTMAN, age 34 of Ancaster
  • Daniel FISH, age 36 of Brantford

William ASHFORD-SMITH, age 36 of Hamilton has been charged with: 

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Robbery
  • Breach of prohibition order
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device

Jason HALL, age 51 of York has been charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Robbery
  • Breach of firearms storage regulations

A total of 13 charges were laid against five individuals. They were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Hamilton on September 23, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Enforcement earlier this month has resulted in two individuals facing drug trafficking charges and the seizure of more than $100,000 in Canadian currency, as well as quantities of suspected cocaine and suspected fentanyl.

On September 4, 2024, a search warrant was executed in Thunder Bay by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG), comprised of members of 20 police services, including Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS). The TBPS Emergency Tactical Unit assisted in coordinating the search warrant.

Police seized the following:

  • Approximately 18 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately 114 grams of suspected cocaine
  • More than $100,000 Canadian currency
  • Approximately $600 United States currency

As a result of the investigation, Kenloyd ALEXIS-ROBINSON, 26 years old, of Chateauguay, Quebec, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with the following five offences:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts
  • Trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Kendra-Lynn TERGIE, 25 years old, of Thunder Bay has been charged with the following three offences contrary to the CCand CDSA:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

The accused were remanded into custody and later released. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 15, 2024.

Allan MACDONALD – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation on September 19, 2024, after a motor vehicle was reported as being in the ditch.

On September 19, 2024, at approximately 8:37 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle located in the ditch on Simcoe Street, Mariposa Township. Upon arrival officers confirmed there were no injuries and through investigation a driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences.

Allan MACDONALD, 67-year-old of Woodville, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)

In addition to the charges the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Jagdeep SINGH Was Arrested

(SUDBURY, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person after conducting a stop with a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV)

On September 17, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a CMV travelling west on Highway 17, in the City of Greater Sudbury.

The CMV was reported to be traveling at various speeds and all over the roadway, placing other drivers at risk.

The vehicle was located, and a small amount of drug suspected to be methadone and cocaine was seized.

As a result of the investigation, Jagdeep SINGH, 26 years-of-age, from Lower Sackville, NS, was arrested and charged with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – two counts
  • Falsify, mutilate or deface any record or document
  • Enter inaccurate information in record
  • Drive after 16 hours since last break without 8 hours off

 The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 16, 2024, in Sudbury.
