Mitchell HILLSDON – Impaired Driving

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) – A traffic complaint has led to an individual being arrested for impaired driving.

On December 25, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver.

Police located the involved vehicle on Highway 40 near Churchill Line, where a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, Mitchell HILLSDON, a 24-year-old of Sarnia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 9, 2026, in Sarnia.

Another Victim Stands Up To Abuser #ItsTime #StandYourGround

(HURON EAST, ON) – On December 24, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Huron East.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.

A 68-year-old individual from Huron East has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal – (two counts),

–      Assault with a Weapon.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a later court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

$100,000+ Drug Bust – MADDOCK, SOUARE, GONSALVES-HEWITT & PELLETIER

(FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION, ON) – Four individuals are facing 45 Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges following a drug trafficking investigation on Fort William First Nation, including two residents of the Greater Toronto Area.

In the fall of 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG), in cooperation with the Anishinabek Police Service, initiated an intelligence-led investigation into alleged drug trafficking activity on Fort William First Nation. With assistance from the Thunder Bay OPP, the OPP Emergency Response Team and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, a search warrant was executed on Fort William First Nation on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Investigators seized the following items with approximate quantities:

·      Loaded firearm equipped to be fully automatic

·      250 g suspected cocaine

·      195 g suspected fentanyl

·      115 oxycodone tablets

·      $6,450 CAD

·      Cell phones

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $106,000.

As a result, four people were arrested and charged.

Teddi-Lyn MADDOCK, age 34 of Fort William First Nation, was charged with:

  • Possession of a firearm while prohibited, s 117.01(1) CC – three counts
  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm, s. 95(1) CC
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, s. 88 CC
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm, s. 91(1) CC
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, s. 92(1) CC
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, s. 91(2) CC
  • Careless storage of a firearm, s. 86(1) CC
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, s. 354(1)(a) CC
  • Failure to comply with a release order, s. 145(5)(a) CC
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, s. 5(2) CDSA

Brandon GONSALVES-HEWITT, age 22 of Scarborough, and David PELLETIER, age 30 of Fort William First Nation, were each charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, s. 88 CC
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm, s. 91(1) CC
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, s. 92(1) CC
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, s. 91(2) CC
  • Careless storage of a firearm, s. 86(1) CC
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, s. 354(1)(a) CC
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA

The accused were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay at a later date.

Frederick MCGOVERN – Impaired Driving

(SCHREIBER, ON) – Members of the Schreiber Detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.

After midnight, on December 26, 2025 members of the Schreiber Detachment were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Rainbow Falls Provincial Park.

The vehicle was located in the ditch with open alcohol inside, the lone driver admitted to consumption. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered resulting in a “fail”, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result, Frederick MCGOVERN age 68, of Marathon was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Nicholas RUTTAN – Drunk Driving

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver with impaired after a collision in Bracebridge.

On December 27, 2025, at 4:45 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report  from a member of the public about a single vehicle collision into a guard rail on Beaumont Drive in Bracebridge, and further concerns about the condition of the driver. Officers located the vehicle and subsequently arrested and charged 22-year-old Nicholas RUTTAN of Gravenhurst, ON with Impaired Operation, Over 80 and Operating a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 27, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Cocaine Bust – Anthony GILLESPIE

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual in relation to illegal drugs in Gravenhurst.

On December 26, 2025, just before 10:00 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to concerns from a member of the public about a vehicle that was lodged in a snowbank on Gravenhurst Parkway near Beaver Creek Drive in Gravenhurst and the driver was no longer with the vehicle. Police responded quickly and located a quantity of illegal drugs and were soon able to locate the driver. Police arrested and charged 31-year-old Anthony GILLESPIE of North York, ON with:

·      Possession of Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

·      Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling

·      Possession of Contraband before Visitor Point in a Penitentiary.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 27, 2026 to answer to his charges.

Christopher MCGOEY – Drunk Driving

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – An individual from Toronto is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a single motor vehicle collision that had occurred on Grey Road 2, near Osprey-The Blue Mountains Townline, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

On Friday, December 26, 2025, at approximately 5:39 a.m., members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report from a passerby of a vehicle that was stuck in the ditch. Police attended and the individual was located sitting in the drivers seat of the motor vehicle.

Christopher MCGOEY, 50-years-old, of Toronto, is charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol
  • Operation while Impaired – 80 plus

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 22, 2026.

Cocaine Bust: Ashley Elizabeth CARSON

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person after a traffic stop on Highway 17.

On December 26, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., police received a complainant regarding an older model silver pickup truck operating erratically and failing to remain in its lane. Police stopped the pickup truck a short time afterwards and spoke to the driver. A white powder substance was visible on the center console, and the driver was subsequently arrested. Police also seized drug paraphernalia and suspected cocaine that was in her possession.  

Ashley Elizabeth CARSON, 32-years-old, of Garson was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on February 5, 2026.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(ORILLIA, ON) – Several individuals have been arrested and charged with impaired-related offences after separate investigations conducted by members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) so far this holiday season.

On December 19, 2025, just after 10:00 pm, officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Highway 11 at Memorial Avenue in the City of Orillia. Officers observed a motor vehicle approach the RIDE and a demand for roadside screening device was read to the driver. The driver then fled the RIDE program and several officers began making patrols for the involved motor vehicle. The vehicle and driver were located a short time later, where they were arrested and transported back to the Orillia Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Ryan STOCK (41) of Oro-Medonte, is facing the following charges:

–      Flight from peace officer (CC), and

–      Failure or refusal to comply with demand (CC).

On December 24, 2025, just after 11:00 pm, officers received a traffic complaint of a vehicle travelling on Highway 11 SB in Oro-Medonte Township. A member of the Orillia Detachment located the subject vehicle and entered into an impaired operation investigation. The driver was arrested and transported back to the Orillia Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Connie SCHMIDT (56) of Torrence, is facing the following charges:

–      Operation while impaired (CC),

–      Operation while impaired – 80 plus (CC), and

–      Breach of Probation Order (POA)

On December 25, 2025, around 11:45 pm, officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Line 1 South near 5-6 Side Road in Oro-Medonte Township. Upon arriving on scene, officers located the driver and entered into an impaired operation investigation. A roadside screening device was utilized, the driver was arrested for impaired related offences, and transported back to the Orillia Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Steven DAWSON (46) of Barrie, is facing the following charges:

–      Failure to stop after accident (CC),

–      Operation while impaired (CC), and

–      Operation while impaired – 80 plus (CC).

On December 27, 2025, around 1:00 pm, an officer of the Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team was conducting a RIDE program on Line 11 near Bass Lake Side Road in Oro-Medonte Township. The officer interacted with the driver of the vehicle and entered into an impaired operation investigation. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported back to the Orillia Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Spencer FARN (41) of Coldwater, is facing the following charge:

–      Operation while impaired – 80 plus (CC).

All accused parties were released from custody with future court dates, their licences were suspended for 90 days, and vehicles impounded for 7 days.

Colt TOUSIGNANT – Drunk Driving

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – A person was charged after police stopped a vehicle north of Blind River on Highway 557.

On December 28, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a small white Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to check sobriety of the driver. After failing a roadside screening test, the driver was arrested and the SUV was consequently towed and impounded. 

Colt TOUSIGNANT, 22-years-old, from Mississauga First Nation was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on February 5, 2026.

Ashiraf LUKABWE Was Arrested

(NORTH BAY, ON) – The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired driving and multiple other offences after the vehicle failed to stop for police on two occasions along Highway 11 between Burk’s Falls and North Bay.

On Friday, December 26, 2025, at approximately 8:20 a.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 11 in Burk’s Falls for a Highway Traffic Act offence. The driver did not stop. A second attempt was made in South River, but the vehicle continued northbound. The North Bay OPP successfully stopped the vehicle just south of North Bay on Highway 11.

Officers determined the driver had consumed alcohol. The individual was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Ashiraf LUKABWE, 27 years of age, of Dufferin, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concertation (80 plus)

·        Flight from peace officer – two counts

·        Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 20, 2026, in North Bay. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

$60,000 Drug Bust – Truong NGUYEN

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Gatineau resident with impaired driving and drug trafficking following a single-vehicle collision early this morning. 

Shortly after midnight on December 27, 2025, officers responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 417 near March Road. During the traffic stop, officers suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol. A roadside screening device was used, and the driver was taken to the Ottawa Detachment for further testing. 

Further investigation revealed the driver was transporting approximately 7 kg of cannabis, drug paraphernalia, cash, and trafficking-related items. The estimated value of the seizure is $60,000. 

Truong NGUYEN, 43 years of age, faces the following charges: 

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs 
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing 
  • Possession over of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place 
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under 5000$ 

The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days under provincial impaired driving laws, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Nguyen is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.

20 Year Old From Central Huron Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with a criminal driving offence following a collision on Huron Road in the Municipality of Central Huron. 

Just before 1:00 p.m. on June 15, 2025, Huron County OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving an automobile that left the roadway, colliding with fences and a residence.

The driver was transported to hospital following the collision. Investigating officers obtained a warrant for the driver’s blood sample which was sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for testing. Results of the driver’s blood revealed a quantity of drugs in their system prior to the collision.

The driver was subsequently charged for impaired operation.

Jonathan ROBSON, 20 years-of-age from Central Huron was charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Blood, Drug Concentration.

The accused has a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 12, 2026.

OPP Now Participating In Home Invasions

(Brant County, ON) – On December 27, 2025, at approximately 6:28 pm, Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residence following a report of a health concern for a 39-year-old male homeowner.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to contact the individual by knocking on the front door multiple times. After no response, communication was established via cell phone. During the conversation, the homeowner directed officers to leave the property.

Shortly after, the complainant advised police that the homeowner had stated no one should return to the residence, as he possessed firearms and was prepared to use them. The individual also indicated he would not speak further with police or come to the door.

Based on this information, Brant County OPP determined the situation had escalated, and the male was considered a barricaded person.

Public safety measures were implemented, Brant County OPP immediately issued a public advisory through social media posts, for all residents in the immediate area to remain indoors for safety reasons. Officers secured the scene and closed area roads to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. OPP specialty emergency response units were deployed to assist.

Negotiation efforts took place for several hours as police made repeated attempts to negotiate with the homeowner and encourage him to surrender peacefully. Despite these efforts, the individual refused to comply. At 5:33 am, OPP TRUE TEAM with a warrant to enter the residence, entered the residence and placed the male homeowner under arrest without incident. Ems personnel attended to the Accused for medical observation. The Accused was held for a Bail Hearing. There is no ongoing threat to public safety.

Kyle FENWICK Arrested in Clinton

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Woodstock resident with Prohibited Driving charges following a traffic stop on December 22, 2025. 

On Monday, December 22, just before 3:00 p.m., Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle on Rattenbury Street in the Town of Clinton, Municipality of Central Huron.  

Officers confirmed that the male driver was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code as well as driving suspensions under the Highway Traffic Act. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and taken into custody.

Kyle FENWICK, 46 years-of-age from Woodstock has been charged with:

–      Operation while Prohibited – (four counts),

The accused was additionally charged with six offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), and one offence found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for 45 days.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and remanded into custody with a later court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
