Hwy 21 Drunk Driver Charged

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On January 11, 2026, at approximately 8:17 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol along Highway 21 north of Kincardine, when they observed a vehicle leave the roadway and enter the ditch.

The investigating officer stopped to render assistance to the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) for further testing.

Sheena GALLAGHER, 43-years-old, of no fixed address, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on March 11, 2026, to answer to the charge.

Heather BROWN -Assault With Weapon, Theft

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – An individual was arrested following an assault investigation in Haldimand County.

On January 9, 2026, at approximately 12:55 p.m., members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault on Argyle Street, Caledonia.

The investigation determined that two individuals were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated to a physical altercation.

Heather BROWN, 60-years-old of Caledonia has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault With a Weapon
  • Theft Under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on March 3, 2026.

Andrew BADRINARAYAN Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has executed a search warrant at a residence in the Township of Amaranth, resulting in the arrest of an individual believed to be responsible for five separate break and enter investigations, along with related fraud investigations.

From December 2025 into early January 2026, Dufferin OPP investigated these break and enter and fraud incidents in and around the Town of Shelburne. Members of the Dufferin OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), in collaboration with uniform officers, initially identified and arrested the individual in connection with two of the break and enter incidents. Further investigation linked the same individual to the remaining incidents.

On January 10, 2026, members of the Dufferin OPP CSCU executed the warrant at the Township of Amaranth residence and arrested the individual believed to be responsible for all five incidents.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew BADRINARAYAN, a 40-year-old male from Amaranth, has been charged with the following offences:

1.   Break and enter a place to commit an indictable offence (five counts)

2.   Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (in Canada) (two counts)

3.   Possession of break-in instruments

4.   Theft of credit card

5.   Use of credit card (two counts)

6.   Theft under $5,000 (two counts)

The following items were seized:

1.   Stolen cash register from a pharmacy break and enter

2.   Stolen lottery tickets

3.   Clothing worn during the offence(s)

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

Andrew BADHRUBARAYAN – Break & Enter

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Amaranth resident with break and enter, along with additional offences, following an investigation.

On January 8, 2026, shortly after 2:30 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to the area of First Avenue and Jelly Street in the Town of Shelburne in response to a commercial alarm at a retail store. The complainant reported that a lone suspect had used a hammer to gain entry to the store and provided a description of the individual.

Due to a quick response, a keen-eyed officer observed an individual matching the suspect description walking along a roadway near the scene. Police were able to identify the individual, resulting in a break and enter investigation.

Later that morning, Dufferin OPP received another call for service regarding a separate break and enter that had occurred earlier but was discovered hours after the initial incident. This second break and enter took place at a law office on Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew BADHRUBARAYAN, a 40-year-old male from Amaranth, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break and enter a place to commit an indictable offence (two counts)
  • Possession of break-in instruments

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

2 Dead – Robyn TONELLO Arrested

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in relation to a fatal collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst on August 5, 2025.

On August 5, 2025 at 6:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to 9-1-1 calls from members of the public about a two vehicle collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 near Narrows Road in Gravenhurst. The collision claimed two lives, that of a 50-year-old Gravenhurst man and a 61-year-old Muskoka Lakes Township man.

Investigations of this nature are complex and time consuming and on January 12, 2026, police arrested and charged 35-year-old Robyn TONELLO, of Ramara Twp, with:

–      Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death X 2

–      Operation while Impaired- Over 80.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 14, 2026 for a bail hearing.

5 Year Old Deceased Following ATV Collision

(BRUDENELL-LYNDOCH-RAGLAN TWP, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an ATV collision that resulted in the death of a 5-year-old child in Brudenell, Lyndoch, and Raglan (BLR) Township.      

On January 10, 2026, just after 11:00 a.m., members of the UOV OPP, along with Renfrew County paramedics and the BLR Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a tracked ATV at a private property in BLR Township. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the lone operator of the ATV, a 5-year-old child, was wearing a helmet when the vehicle crashed into a tree. The child was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and subsequently flown by air ambulance to a regional trauma centre where they succumbed to their injuries.

A post-mortem has been scheduled. The investigation is continuing in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. An OPP Collision Reconstructionist, Technical Collision Investigator, and the UOV OPP Crime Unit are also assisting with the investigation.

Joshua WHALEN & Jesse LOVEDAY Were Arrested

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals with multiple offences.

On Monday, January 5, 2026, officers were dispatched to reports of a break and enter at a local business in the 400 block of Scott Street. Police were able to recover multiple stolen items on the individuals. The investigation was completed with the assistance of the Rainy River District OPP Crime Unit, OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and their Canine Unit.

As a result, Joshua WHALEN, 40 years old of Fort Frances, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Break and enter a place to commit an indictable offence
  • Trafficking in property obtained by crime
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Possession of a credit card

Jesse LOVEDAY, 30 years old of Emo Township, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Trafficking in Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a credit card

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been charged as a result of a drug trafficking investigation led by the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On Sunday, January 11, 2026, at approximately 11:09 a.m., members of the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU, with assistance from Norfolk County OPP officers, conducted a traffic stop on Ireland Road in Simcoe as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. The passenger was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of a search of the individual and vehicle, officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, Canadian currency, and drug-related paraphernalia. The driver was also taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search led to the seizure of suspected MDMA (ecstasy).

A photograph of the seized items is attached for reference.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 36-year-old Kevin COLLINS of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Also charged is 68-year-old Paul SAUCIER, of Norfolk County, with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methylenedioxyamphetamine (ecstasy),
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Michael Collins – Aggravated Assault

(MIDLAND, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual in connection with an assault with a weapon that occurred in Midland in November.

On Monday, November 24, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of an injured male requiring medical assistance after being assaulted with an edged weapon at a residence on Lindsay Street. Attending officers located the male victim inside the residence. The suspect had fled prior to police arrival.

Uniform officers were assisted by members of the detachment Major Crime Unit during the investigation.

On January 7, 2026, members of the detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSU) and arrested the suspect in downtown Midland. Charged is Michael Collins, 33 years of Midland, with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Failure to Comply with a Release Order

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice and remains in custody.

Investigators would like to advise that this was an isolated incident and there was no evidence of a threat to the broader public.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Five individuals have been taken into custody after robbery investigation in Middlesex Centre.

On January 11, 2026, at 7:46 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a business at 22949 Highbury Avenue North in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a robbery. 

Five individuals were located at scene and were placed under arrest without incident.

As a result, Devangkumar PATEL, a 33-year-old, Yogeshkumar PATEL, a 45-year-old, Bhavinkumar PATEL, a 38-year-old, Mitulkumar PATEL, a 38-year-old and Ricky PATEL, a 29-year-old, all of Scarborough, have been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Robbery with theft
  • Mischief under $5,000

The accused have all been released from police custody and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on February 26, 2026, to speak to the charges.

The Middlesex County Crime Unit is assisting with the investigation.

Eric SAKOULIS – Drunk Driving

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – An impaired driver has been removed from the road after going through a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) spot check.

On January 9, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) conducted a RIDE spot check at Wellington Road 34 and Brock Road South in Puslinch. A vehicle entered the checkpoint, where officers detected signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, Eric SAKOULIS, a 31-year-old from Flamborough, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on January 23, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Home Invasion – Suspects At Large

(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – TheLanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a home invasion robbery near Smiths Falls.

On Monday, January 12, 2026, around 1:00 a.m., officers with the Lanark County OPP responded to the incident on Glenview Road in Drummond-North Elmsley Township.

A 19-year-old individual, staying in a camping trailer on residential property, reported that three masked males had entered the trailer, assaulted the resident and stole several items before fleeing to a vehicle which had been parked nearby.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was examined by Lanark County Paramedics as a precaution.

It’s believed this was not a random incident and that there is no risk to public safety.

The investigation is continuing with assistance from the Lanark OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services.

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – One person has been charged following a traffic stop in Leamington.

On January 9, 2026, at approximately 9:49 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a vehicle stop on Erie Street South in the Municipality of Leamington.

William STORREY, 50-years-old of Leamington was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on January 23, 2026, to answer to the charges.

One Dead – Lloyd WILLIAMSON Arrested

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into a fatal, pedestrian-involved fail-to-remain collision in Glen Morris.

On Sunday, January 11, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Brant-Brantford Paramedic Services and the Brant County Fire Department, responded to a fail-to-remain collision involving a cyclist on East River Road in Glen Morris.

The cyclist, a 68-year-old resident of Cambridge, Ontario, was located unresponsive and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers later located a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident on East River Road. The driver was identified and taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 65-year-old Lloyd WILLIAMSON of Brant County was charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Fail to stop at accident resulting in death.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on Friday, February 27, 2026.

East River Road, between Glen Morris Road West and Highway 24, was closed for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling along East River Road and may have witnessed the collision to contact police. Residents in the immediate and surrounding areas are also asked to check their home surveillance systems for any relevant footage. OPP Seize $35K in Drugs, Guns, Cash in Tay Township–Midland Raids

(Tay Township, Midland, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay Detachment successfully executed two search warrants, leading to the seizure of drugs, firearms, and proceeds of crime in Tay Township and Midland.

On January 9, 2026, members of the Southern Georgian Bay Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) carried out coordinated searches at a residence on Maskinonge Road in Tay Township and an apartment on King Street in Midland.

During the searches, officers located and seized: (see photo)

  • A significant quantity of Fentanyl, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Crystal Methamphetamine, and Morphine, with an estimated street value of $35,000.
  • Four long guns, including two prohibited firearms, along with ammunition and a bulletproof vest.
  • Nearly $8,000 in cash, a stolen 2017 GMC Yukon, and fraudulent licence plates as part of proceeds of crime.

The investigation was conducted by Southern Georgian Bay CSCU with assistance from Huronia West CSCU and local detachment members.

As a result, Luke MATUSCHEWSKI, 44 years old, of Tay Township, faces 21 charges including offences under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Morphine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000 and Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Readily Available Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon or Prohibited Device
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Contravention of Firearms Storage Regulations
  • Use Forged Document (Fraudulent Plates)

The accused remains in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice to answer to these charges.
