Robin PREST – Drunk Driving

(KINGSTON, ON) – A routine traffic stop north of Kingston has led to charges, including impaired driving.

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, around 9:15 p.m., officers with the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Road 38 near Van Order Drive when they saw a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner.

The officers pulled the vehicle over and observed open alcohol inside.

A roadside alcohol screening device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result, Robin PREST, age 34 of Kingston, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Failing to surrender a drivers’ licence

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on March 17, 2026. The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Angela SEARSON – Drunk Driving

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ottawa resident with impaired driving.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, Lanark County OPP received a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver on County Road 29 in Mississippi Mills Township. A short time later officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle travelling at inconsistent speeds just after 7:15 p.m.

The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Angela SEARSON, 49-years-old, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Drive motor vehicle with open container of alcohol

·        Having care and control of a motor vehicle with open container of alcohol

·         

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, February 23, 2026.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Justin HENEY – Drunk Driving

(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with impaired driving.

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, Lanark County OPP received a report from a citizen regarding a possible impaired driver in the Town of Perth. A short time later officers conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed just before 2:30 a.m. on County Road 43 in Drummond-North Elmsley Township.

The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Justin HENEY, 39-years-old, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, February 23, 2026.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Robin CHATTERJEE Facing Numerous Charges

On January 17, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound and Bracebridge detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a possible impaired driver travelling on Highway 400 Police located the vehicle on Highway 400 and conducted a traffic stop.

Robin CHATTERJEE, 47-years-old, from Vaughn was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs
  • Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
  • Class G1 licence holder – drive on prohibited highway
  • Obstruct plate
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
  • Driver fail to surrender licence

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on February 19, 2026.

Michael HOLLANDY – Impaired Driving

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – A person was charged after police were called to a blue mid-size Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) in a driveway with the driver passed out at the wheel on Washington Crescent.

On January 17, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the residence and spoke to the driver who exhibited signs of impairment. He was subsequently arrested and the SUV was towed and impounded. 

Michael HOLLANDY, 45-years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on February 12, 2026.

OPP Officer Caught Drunk & Driving On Duty Suspended With Full Pay #Drunk&Armed

(MIDLAND, ON) – The Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an OPP officer with impaired operation while on duty.

On Thursday, January 15, 2026, Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers initiated an impaired operation investigation involving one of their members. 

As a result of the investigation, Christopher PROUT, a 39-year-old Southern Georgian Bay OPP provincial constable with 17 years of service, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) 

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), section 320.14(1)(b) 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on Monday, February 26, 2026.

In accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act, the officer has been suspended with pay. The OPP Professional Standards Unit is conducting a parallel internal investigation.

Ivan RYAN Was Arrested

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – The Collingwood detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged one individual after an arrest warrant was executed on Elm Street in the Town of Collingwood. The arrest resulted in the seizure of more than 130 grams of suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.

On Friday January 16, 2026 just after 11:30 pm Collingwood OPP were conducting general patrol in the area of Elm and Second Street in the Town of Collingwood. At which time a male was recognized by a keen eyed officer to be an individual who was wanted on a Collingwood OPP arrest warrant for six outstanding charges including drug trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The male attempted to resist arrest however, officers were able to gain control and take him into custody. During a subsequent search officers located more than 130 grams of suspected fentanyl and a variety of drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, the male was transported to Collingwood detachment where he was held for a bail hearing. As result of the investigation he is facing charges under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Ivan RYAN (49) of Collingwood, has been charged with the following:

–      Resist Peace Officer

Fatal Hwy 7 Collision

(CENTRAL FRONTENAC TOWNSHIP, ON) – A head-on collision east of Kaladar has left one person deceased.

The collision happened on Friday, January 16, 2026, shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Highway 7, between Kaladar and Arden Road. A transport truck and pick-up truck had been involved in a collision.

Officers with the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Central Frontenac Township Firefighters and Frontenac Paramedics responded to the scene.  

The driver of the pick-up, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the transport was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from members of the OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team, including a Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigators.

Highway 7 remains closed between Highways 38 and 41. Monitor OPP social media for updated information.

AI Triggers Arrest In Walkerton

(BROCKTON, ON) – On January 15, 2026, at approximately 2:32 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol in Walkerton when they stopped to check a vehicle along May Street.

The officer had received an automated licence plate recognition system (ALPR) alert, indicating an issue with the observed licence plate. A traffic stop was initiated where further investigation revealed the plate was not authorized to be used on the vehicle, and the driver was subject to a driving prohibition. The driver was taken into custody and the vehicle was impounded for 90 days.

Curtis WHITTEN, 35-years-old, of West Grey, was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited, CC 320.18(1)(a)
  • Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a)
  • Possession of a schedule II substance, CDSA 4(1)
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle, HTA 12(1)(d)
  • Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1) – two counts
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes, TTA 29(2)
  • Care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available, CCA 12(1)

The accused was held for a bail hearing on January 16, 2026, and subsequently released from custody. They are set to reappear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Luke LINKLATER – Drunk Driving

(KENORA, ON) – An early morning traffic stop has resulted in Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act charges for a Kenora resident.

On January 16, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers from the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Fifth Avenue South in the City of Kenora. The driver failed to yield to traffic, nearly causing a collision, prompting officer to initiate the stop.

As a result of the investigation, 38‑year‑old Luke LINKLATER has been charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

  • Drive motor vehicle – no license
  • Fail to yield to traffic on through highway
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on February 23, 2026.

Impaired Driving Prevention

The OPP reminds motorists that impaired driving is entirely preventable. Plan ahead by arranging a designated driver, using public transportation, calling a taxi or rideshare service, or staying overnight if you have consumed alcohol or drugs. Road safety is a shared responsibility and choosing not to drive impaired helps keep everyone in the community safe.

The OPP also encourages all drivers to regularly check the status of their driver’s license. Ensure your license is valid and renew it promptly if it has expired. Driving with an invalid or expired license can result in charges and may impact insurance and driving privileges.

Daniel BROHM – Drunk Driving

(SPRINGWATER, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving at a RIDE (reducing impaired driving everywhere) Program.

On Thursday, January 15, 2026, shortly after 3:00 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers conducted a RIDE Program on Gill Road in Springwater Township.

As a result, Daniel BROHM, a 61-year-old of Midhurst, was arrested and charged with the following:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on February 10, 2026, to answer to the charges.

$50,000 Drug Bust – Michelle MARTINEAU

(CHAPLEAU, ON) – Two Chapleau residents are facing multiple drug trafficking charges after officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a Chapleau residence, resulting in the seizure of suspected fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine and cocaine with an estimated street value of $50,000.

On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, a joint investigation with Northeast Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), the Nishnawbe-Aski Police (NAPS) Intelligence unit, with assistance from the Superior East Emergency Response Team (ERT), Superior East Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members, conducted a joint investigation that culminated in the execution of a warrant at a residence on Martel Road in Chapleau. During the search, officers seized suspected fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, speed, and cocaine, along with a scale and packaging materials.

As a result of the investigation, Michelle MARTINEAU, 31 years-of-age of Chapleau, was arrested and charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – crystal methamphetamine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -fentanyl

·      Fail to comply with a release Order – two counts

And Xavier STONE, 34 years-of-age of Chapleau was arrested and charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – crystal methamphetamine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -fentanyl

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order – two counts

Both accused were held in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 15, 2026.

Drug Bust – David Nelson WHITE

(PEMBROKE, ON) – An individual is facing numerous charges after an impaired driving investigation resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cash and suspected fentanyl and cocaine.  

On January 15, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m. members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of International Drive in the City of Pembroke. In short order, police located the vehicle and driver in a parking lot on International Drive. Upon speaking with the driver police entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was taken into custody, and testing was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer at the detachment. Suspected fentanyl and cocaine were seized during the investigation along with over $20,000 in cash.     

As a result of this investigation 42-year-old David Nelson WHITE of Providence Bay, Ontario, has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs Substances Act (CDSA) offences:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl – three counts

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

·        Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.

(PEMBROKE, ON) – An early morning traffic stop has resulted in Criminal Code (CC) impaired driving charges for an Arnprior resident. 

On January 12, 2026, at approximately 1:15 a.m., officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Cecelia Street in the City of Pembroke. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Ashley WARD – Drunk Driving

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) – Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a Laurentian Valley Township (LVTP) resident with impaired driving offences after a recent investigation.      

In the early morning hours of January 11, 2026, police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Pembroke. Police located the vehicle and driver in LVTP and began an investigation. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.  

As a result of this incident Ashley WARD, age 41, is charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 10, 2026.
