One Dead – Kevin SCHOENFELDT Arrested

(NORTH ALGONA WILBERFORCE TWP, ON) – Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged the driver of a tractor involved in a fatal collision in North Algona Wilberforce (NAW) Township.

On September 26, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m. police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 41 at Walsh Road involving a motorcycle and a farm tractor. The driver of the motorcycle, a 76-year-old male from Renfrew, was transported to hospital by ambulance and died a short time later. The driver of the farm tractor was not injured.

On March 18, 2025, the driver of the tractor, 64-year-old Kevin SCHOENFELDT of NAW, was charged with careless driving causing death under the Highway Traffic Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in Provincial Offences Court in the City of Pembroke on April 28, 2025. 

The investigation was conducted with the assistance of an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members.

28 Year Old Arrested Following Collision

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – One person has been charged following a collision in Leamington.

On March 24, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of County Road 33 South and Mersea Road 2 in the Municipality of Leamington. 

Santos MARTINEZ LOPEZ, 28-years-old of Leamington, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on April 11, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Police Cruiser Damaged In Wingham – Mason SITLER-PAYNE Arrested After Struggle

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place at a location on Josephine Street in the Town of Wingham, Township of North Huron on Wednesday March 19th, 2025.   

Just after 10:20 p.m., police investigated damage that had been done to an OPP patrol vehicle which had been parked and unattended. Police located the suspect, who fled on foot and was arrested shortly after a brief struggle with police. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had also moved storm drain covers, creating a hazard for motorists and pedestrians.

Mason SITLER-PAYNE, 28 years of age of North Huron has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property,

–      Resist Peace Officer.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence under the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The accused was processed and later released from custody with an appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 28, 2025.

Vamsi KOMMINENI – Drunk Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic complaint in Lakeshore.

On March 23, 2025, at approximately 7:17 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on County Road 42 near Lakeshore Road 129 in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Vamsi KOMMINENI, 30-years-old of Belle River, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on April 2, 2025, to speak to the charges.

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic complaint in Lakeshore.

On March 21, 2025, at approximately 7:11 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on Tecumseh Road near Lighthouse Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Carson HATHAWAY, 21-years-old of Pain Court, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Dangerous operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on April 2, 2025, to speak to the charges.

David LENTING – Meth, Impaired Operation

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with a criminal driving offence following a traffic stop in the Municipality of South Huron on March 20th, 2025. 

On Thursday, March 20th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were patrolling in the Town of Exeter, South Huron. Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the vehicle driver, who was subsequently arrested for impaired operation. The driver was transported to the Stratford Police Service to conduct testing before a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) trained officer. As a result, the accused was charged as follows:

David LENTING, 29 years-of-age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs,

–      Possession of Methamphetamine.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused’ driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 14, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Jatin PATEL – Drunk Driving

(ESSEX, ON) – One person has been charged following a traffic stop in Essex.

On March 21, 2025, at approximately 9:48 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on County Road 11 in the Town of Essex. 

Jatin PATEL, 50-years-old of Windsor, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on April 03, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Suzanne MOON – Assault

(WEST NIPISSINGON) – Police arrested and charged one person with assault

On March 21, 2025, at approximately 7:25 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a recreational complex on O’Hara Street, West Nipissing.

There were no injuries reported when, an employee was verbally confronted by a member of the public, which escalated to an assault on the employee.

As a result of the investigation, Suzanne MOON, 68 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was arrested and charged with, assault.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 1, 2025, in North Bay.

Krisandra STEWART – 157 in a 90

(Oro-Medonte, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with stunt driving in the Township of Oro-Medonte.

On March 21, 2025, while conducting traffic patrol on Hwy 11 North bound in the Township of Oro-Medonte, an officer of the Orillia Detachment conducted a traffic stop due to a vehicle traveling at a rate of 157km per hour in a posted 90km per hour zone.

Krisandra STEWART, 50-year-old of Ramara Township, was charged with:

Adult Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed.

The driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Chelsea MCLENNAN – Drunk Driving

(DOURO-DUMMER TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with impaired driving after investigating a vehicle in the ditch.

On March 21, 2025, at approximately 9:45pm, Peterborough County OPP Officers were dispatched to a reported vehicle in the ditch on County Road 40 in Douro-Dummer Township. Officers were told by the caller that the driver exited the vehicle and began asking others for a ride home before walking away from the scene.

Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and spoke with witnesses who were able to provide a description of the driver. Officers located the driver at a nearby address and upon speaking with the driver, detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from their breath. A demand for an Approved Screening Device (ASD) test was read. The driver complied with the demand and provided a sample of their breath resulting in a reading of ‘FAIL’ at which point the driver was arrested.

Chelsea MCLENNAN (age 31) of Norwood, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on April 22, 2025

Mandy ROBICHAUD Was Arrested

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with refusal after vehicle leaves road and rolls.

On March 24, 2025, at 12:04 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service were dispatched to Carriage Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre for the report of a single vehicle collision.

The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex County OPP detachment.

As a result, Mandy ROBICHAUD, a 49-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on May 8, 2025.

The driver was not injured.

Fire!

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded a variation of incidents over the weekend.

On March 22, 2025, at around 4:00 a.m., Police and the Township of Cramahe Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a commercial premises on King Street East in Colborne.

Emergency services arrived and spoke with the lone occupant who was out of the building and uninjured. Fire fighters tackled the blaze as police closed the road in the area with diversions in place.

The road was opened at approximately 8:45 a.m. The Office of the Fire Marshall had been contacted in relation to the incident. At this time, foul play is not suspected by investigators.

On March 22, 2025, a nearby regional police service contacted OPP in regard to a vehicle recovered in their area and believed to be stolen from Northumberland. Officers confirmed that the passenger vehicle had been taken from an address in the Municipality in Brighton on March 12, 2025. The vehicle was unoccupied and the investigation into the circumstances regarding the theft remains ongoing.

On March 23, 2025, shortly after 2:00 p.m., a member of the public reported a suspected impaired driver in a pickup truck on Hillcrest Road in the Municipality of Port Hope.

Police patrolled the area and located the vehicle in the ditch. Officers spoke to the uninjured driver and entered into an impaired operation investigation. The accused was then taken into custody and transported to a local detachment for further tests.

Cameron CLARKE (age 50) from the Municipality of Port Hope, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

In addition to a future court date for the accused, a further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute

On March 24, 2025, at approximately 12:20 a.m., an officer was on patrol on County Road 2, in the Township of Cramahe in response to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle matching the description provided and through investigation, found the motorist to be prohibited from driving.

As a result, Allister MCCULLOUGH (age 53) from Belleville, has been charged with:

–      Operation while prohibited

–      Driving while under suspension – three counts

–      Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver

–      Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour.

In addition to a future court date, the accused had their vehicle impounded for 45 days.

Northumberland OPP also responded a number of collisions. Of note, officers responded a single motor vehicle collision on March 23, 2025, at around 8:40 a.m. The incident occurred on Highway 401 eastbound in the Township of Cramahe and the vehicle had been reported to roll and come to rest on it’s roof.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the fire department also responded to the collision where the driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As traffic was slowing down on approach to an unrelated collision on March 23, 2025, shortly before 09:00 on Highway 401 eastbound in the Municipality of Port Hope, a driver was involved in a single vehicle collision which resulted in minor injuries. An 18-year-old male from Picton, was charged with Careless Driving.

On March 24, 2024, at around 8:10 a.m., OPP responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of County Road 45 and County Road 9 in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand. The vehicle was reported to have rolled several times before coming to rest.

The Fire Department and EMS also responded to the scene where upon arrival, all occupants were out of the passenger vehicle. One individual was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This investigation remains ongoing.

The Northumberland OPP is committed to reducing and preventing injuries on roads, highways, waterways, and trails, while enhancing safety for motorists and all other road users through public education and enforcement. Moses Kariuki – Drunk Driving

(HALIBURTON COUNTY, ON) – The Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver involved in a collision with impaired operation in the Municipality of Dysart et Al.

On March 23, 2025, at 2:33 a.m., the Bracebridge and Haliburton OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred near Highway 118 and Lymburner Drive in Haliburton. Haliburton County Emergency Services (EMS) attended the scene for a vehicle that had struck a rock cut and caught on fire. The Dysart Fire Department extinguished the fire and Haliburton County Paramedic Service (HCPS) transported the driver to the local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Following an investigation, the driver, 31-year-old Moses Kariuki of Highlands East Township was arrested and charged with the following:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Minden on May 7, 2025, to answer to these charges.

In addition to the charges, the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

(LONDON, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after vehicle leaves road and enters ditch.

On March 23, 2025, at 1:49 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service were dispatched to the Eastbound Lanes of Highway 402 at Wonderland Road in the City of London for the report of a single vehicle collision.

The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex County OPP detachment.

As a result, Kenneth MCINTOSH, a 64-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on April 30, 2025.
