7kg Cocaine Bust

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Four Thunder Bay residents and one individual from Ajax are facing a combined 35 charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act after a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay and the surrounding communities.

In late 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) and the OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) began an intelligence-led investigation into the alleged trafficking of drugs from the Greater Toronto Area to Thunder Bay.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, search warrants were executed on two vehicles and three residences in Thunder Bay by members from PGNG, Thunder Bay OPP Regional Support Team, Thunder Bay OPP Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit, POIB, Thunder Bay Police Service and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.

The following items with approximate quantities were seized:

  •         7.2 kg of suspected cocaine
  •         1 kg of suspected methamphetamine
  •         2.8 grams of suspected fentanyl
  •         295 oxycodone tablets
  •         4 lbs of dried illegal cannabis
  •         280 cannabis vape pens
  •         25 vials of hash oil
  •         Loaded firearm
  •         $126,260 in Canadian currency
  •         8 cell phones

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $836,000.

Social Media Threats Leads To Arrest

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a male after online threats were made towards several parties involved in a previous assault investigation at Couchiching Park.

On May 29, 2025, Orillia OPP began an investigation after being made aware of threats made on a social media platform. Orillia OPP quickly identified a suspect, leading to an arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle ERCOLINI, 39, of Oro-Medonte, has been charged with Uttering Threats – cause death or bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia at a later date to answer to the charge.

Jeffrey MUSTOE Was Arrested

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver during morning commuting hours.

On May 27, 2025 at 8:15 a.m. a member of the Central Region SAVE (Snowmobile, ATV, Vessel Enforcement) team was conducting general patrol on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst, monitoring the morning traffic when he observed a vehicle commit an offence in relation to a stopped school bus. The officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 49-year-old Jeffrey MUSTOE of Barrie, ON with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired- Over 80
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Fail to Stop for School Bus
  • Having Liquor in Open Container in Unauthorized Place

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 24, 2025 to answer to his charges.

One Dead – Robert WORMALD Arrested

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – The Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person in relation to a drug overdose death investigation in Kirkland Lake.

On Monday, November 22, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Kirkland Lake OPP, Timiskaming District Emergency Medical Services and Kirkland Lake Fire Services responded to a report of an unresponsive person at a residence on Government Road East. A 42-year-old from Kirkland Lake was located deceased.

As a result of the investigation, Robert WORMALD, 53 years old from Kirkland Lake, was arrested and charged with manslaughter contrary to section 236(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

The investigation was conducted by the Kirkland Lake OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Jordan LEWIS Was Arrested

(PICTON, ON) – An individual’s attempt to avoid a RIDE program in Picton didn’t keep OPP officers from making an arrest for impaired operation.

On Monday, May 26, 2025, just before midnight, officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment were conducting a RIDE program on Bridge Street when they saw an e-bike turn in an apparent attempt to avoid the RIDE. Officers located the e-bike in the area, along with the operator and a passenger.

An approved roadside alcohol screening device was utilized, and the operator was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jordan LEWIS, age 29 of no fixed address, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Having liquor in an open container in an unauthorized place

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on June 11, 2025, on these charges. The accused was held in custody due to other outstanding warrants elsewhere in the region.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for an additional 90 days and the e-bike was impounded for seven days.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(EDWARDSBURGH CARDINAL, ON) – The Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision.

On May 25, 2025, shortly after 1:00 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on County Road 22 at Brouseville Road, in Edwardsburgh Cardinal Township.

The 29-year-old driver of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries at the scene. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital by the Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service.

The area was initially closed and has since re-opened. The investigation continues with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and a Reconstructionist.

Donte COUSINEAU Was Arrested

(MIDLAND, ON)- A report at approximately 1:34 a.m. May 27, 2025 to the OPP Communication Centre of a vehicle crash into a parked van resulted in members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to attend and investigate.

Upon arrival at the scene on William Street near John Street, Victoria Harbour, the lone uninjured driver was located, spoken to be the officer at the scene who then commenced an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, 23 year old Donte COUSINEAU of Midland has been charged criminally with the following driving offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on June 12, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Jullian DELEON – Impaired Operation

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – A driver was arrested and charged after a Reduced Impaired Drivers Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program in Blind River.

On May 25, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a black Jeep on Causley Street. While speaking to the driver, a strong odour of burnt cannabis was detected. The driver was subsequently arrested and later assessed by an OPP Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE).

Jullian DELEON, 39-years-old, of Collingwood was charged with – Operation while impaired – Drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 7, 2025.

The OPP would like to remind the motoring public to drive sober; this includes drug consumption as well. Impairment by drugs is a crime under the Criminal Code and drivers are subject to the same penalties as those who are charged with driving while impaired by alcohol.  A charge of impairment by drugs involves all drugs, be it prescription, over-the-counter and those that are illegal.

Noah FELSBOURG Was Arrested

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On May 25, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle stopped on the side of the road on Wellington Road 2 east of Clifford. 

As a result of the investigation, Noah FELSBOURG 24-years-old of Southgate Township, was charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code

– Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on June 3, 2025.

Stephen FARRELL Was Arrested

(MIDLAND, ON)- A report to the OPP Communication Centre of a vehicle that had crashed into the ditch of Simcoe County Road 6 at approximately 9:20 p.m. May 25, 2025 resulted in a prompt response from officers of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Upon arrival at the scene between Concessions Roads 8 and 9 of Tiny Township responding officers, Tiny Township Fire Service and Simcoe County Paramedics located the vehicle on its side with the driver unable to exit the vehicle. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and was triaged at the scene to be transported to an area hospital as a precaution.

Upon speaking with the driver, the officers had entered into an impaired driving investigation which has resulted in 58 year old Stephen FARRELL of Woodbridge being charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

And further with the following Provincial Offences

  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Careless driving

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on June 26, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Lawn Tractor Driver Arrested For Impaired

(TAY VALLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Taking a lawn tractor for a drive along a recreational trail has resulted in an impaired driving charge for a Tay Valley Township resident.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, shortly after 9:00 p.m., officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement along Highway 7, between Perth and Maberly, when they observed a lawn tractor being operated on an ATV trail. When the rider spotted the officers, he drove off in the opposite direction. The officers were able to intercept and stop the individual on the trail.

An approved alcohol screening device was utilized, and the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jim DIXON, age 59 of Tay Valley Township, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 16, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the lawn mower was returned to its rightful location.

Terence ELLIOTT – Break & Enter

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person in relation to a break & enter on Ski Hill Road.

On May 24, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m. police responded to an alarm activation at a commercial building on site. A smashed rear window was observed and alarm motion determined movement in the kitchen area of the chalet. An intoxicated person was located inside helping himself to food and was subsequently arrested.  

Terence ELLIOTT, 36-years-old, from Elliot Lake were charged with:

·      Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

·      Mischief under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 10, 2025.

Windows Smashed – Dan John READ Arrested

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) -The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested one person after windows were broken at several downtown Arthur businesses and residences in the early morning hours of May 25, 2025. 

On Sunday May 25, 2025, at approximately 5:45 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a report of an individual that was breaking windows along George Street in Arthur.

Upon police arrival, a suspect was located nearby and arrested.

In total, five businesses and two private residences were damaged.

As a result of the investigation, Dan John READ, a 45-year-old of no fixed address is charged with:

  • Mischief-destroys or damages property (seven counts)

Jeffrey HOUNSELL – Impaired Operation

(PICTON, ON) – A traffic stop in downtown Picton has resulted in impaired driving charges.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, shortly before 11:00 p.m., an officer with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle driving erratically. The officer stopped the vehicle on Main Street an conducted a roadside test with an approved alcohol screening device. The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jeffrey HOUNSELL, age 62 of Prince Edward County, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on June 18, 2025.

(PICTON, ON) – A suspicious vehicle has led to impaired driving charges in Picton.

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, shortly before 3:30 a.m., officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in the Pitt Street area.

The vehicle was located, and officers administered a roadside test with an approved alcohol screening device. The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
