Man Shot – Suspect Photo Released

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are appealing for witnesses and searching for two suspects after a man was shot outside his home in the City of Markham.

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, at approximately 5:20 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of McCowan Road and 14th Avenue. When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injures.

The suspects arrived in a grey Honda CR-V sport utility vehicle, which investigators have since recovered.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance identifying two suspects. Both are described as male, Black, wearing grey hooded sweaters and black track pants.

Investigators believe this incident was targeted and urge anyone who has not yet spoken with the police to come forward. Additionally, officers are seeking surveillance video or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the shooting.

Andrew AGAR Found Hiding In Bushes From Police After Drunk Driving Collision – No Fatalities

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Perth South resident with several criminal offences following a single-vehicle collision in the Municipality of South Huron, on July 3rd, 2025. 

Just before 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 03, 2025, Huron County OPP officers observed a damaged vehicle in a ditch on Sunshine Line in South Huron. The driver was located after hiding in the bushes nearby and was arrested for impaired operation and dangerous driving.

As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged as follows:

Andrew AGAR, 47 years-of-age from Perth South has been charged with:

–      Dangerous Operation,

–      Impaired Operation – Alcohol and Drug,

–      Impaired Operation – Over 80,

–      Obstruct Peace Officer.

The involved vehicle was towed, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Vanessa ZAHREBELNY Was Arrested – Details Released

(CHATHAM KENT, ON) – Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired operation on Highway 401.

On Monday, August 18, 2025, at approximately 10:44 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401.

As a result of the investigation, Vanessa ZAHREBELNY, 38-years-old from North York was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) (Criminal Code) and,
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor (Liquor Licence Act)
  • Possess more than one licence (Highway Traffic Act)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Declyn LAFRAMBOISE – Theft

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Individual from Glencoe charged with theft after incident at a local business in Glencoe.

On August 14, 2025, at 9:33 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a business at 275 Main Street in Glencoe, Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a theft in progress.

Officers arrived on scene at which time the individual fled from officers. After a brief foot pursuit, the individual was placed under arrest.

As a result, Declyn LAFRAMBOISE, a 26-year-old of Glencoe, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act with:

  • Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Enter premises when entry prohibited

The accused was held for bail.

More Impaired Drivers – BROWN, MCINNIS, BLACKBURN & 28 Year Old

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged four motorists with impaired operation in unrelated incidents over the weekend. Notably, three of the four arrests occurred within a 24-hour period

On August 16, 2025, at around 12:45 a.m., police received a traffic complaint regarding a pick-up truck unable to maintain its lane travelling on Highway 401 eastbound in the Municipality of Port Hope.

Members from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) stopped a vehicle matching the description provided and following speaking to the driver, officers entered an impaired operation investigation. As a result, the motorist was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further tests.

Gary BROWN (48) from Port Hope, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.

On August 16, 2025, shortly after 8:30 p.m., a caller reported a possible impaired driver on Masters Road in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.

Officers later located a pickup truck matching the description provided on Taylor Road. The single occupant appeared to be sleeping and following being woken up and interacting with police, an impaired operation investigation began. The driver was taken into custody and transported to a local detachment for further tests.

As a result, Shaelene MCINNIS (58) from Port Hope, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., OPP responded to a report of a driver alleged to be yelling at residents and driving while impaired on Hillside Camp Drive in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.

Officers then stopped the vehicle, and the driver exited the vehicle to confront police before they were taken into custody for impaired operation and transported to a local detachment. Avenues of investigation revealed that the motorist was suspended from driving.

Patrick BLACKBURN (40), from the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand, has been charged with:

–      Dangerous operation

–      Operation while prohibited

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Driving while under suspension

–      Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates

–      Use plate not authorized for vehicle.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.

On August 18, 2025, at around 2:40 a.m., OPP were on patrol on King Street East in the Township of Cramahe, when they observed a passenger vehicle unable to maintain its lane before mounting the sidewalk and back onto the roadway.

The vehicle was subsequently stopped, and the officer observed four children in the rear seat along with an adult passenger in the front. All passengers were not wearing their seatbelts.

Upon speaking to the driver, police entered an impaired operation investigation. The motorist was then taken into custody and transported to a local detachment for further tests.

A 28-year-old male, from Whitby has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Careless driving

–      Drive without proper rear light – motor vehicle

–      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

–      Class G2 licence holder – more passengers than seat belts

–      Class G2 licence holder – excess passengers under 20

–      Drive while child passenger not properly secured – four counts

The accused shall not be named to protect the identity of the young persons. The individual is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.

For each of the accused, a further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

MONTGOMERY Facing Impaired Driving

(BRANT, ON) – On August 15, 2025, at approximately 10:21 p.m., members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-motor vehicle collision on King Street east of Maple Avenue in Burford, Ontario.

Upon police arrival an approved roadside screening device test was administered which resulted in a “fail”.

Following a police investigation Shazia MONTGOMERY a 34-year-old female of Ancaster, was taken into custody and charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on October 03, 2025.

TEEPLE & TRUSCOTT Arrested Following Collisions

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving related charges recently.

On Sunday August 17, 2025, just before 7:00 a.m., L&A County OPP members were advised of a single vehicle collision on County Road 9 in Greater Napanee. The vehicle was located with the driver inside, and the driver was arrested.

 Kevin TEEPLE, a 55-year-old from Napanee, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration
  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession of methamphetamine

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 9, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

 On Monday August 18, 2025, just before 6:00 p.m., L&A County OPP was called by a member of the public regarding a single vehicle collision on Maple Road in Loyalist Township. Police attended the collision scene and the driver was arrested.

 Stanley TRUSCOTT, a 61-year-old from Napanee, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous operation
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Have care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 16, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.

Do You Recognize This Theft Suspect?

(GRAND BEND, ON) – Police are investigating a theft from a business in Grand Bend.

On August 7, 2025, just after 5:00 p.m., the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft from a business on Main Street, Grand Bend.

Two unknown individuals entered the store, concealed two bottles of alcohol, and left the premises without making payment.

A photograph of one of the individuals has been attached for reference.

The investigation is ongoing.

Lambton OPP is asking anyone who may recognize the individual or who may have information related to this incident to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON)- The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were busy over the weekend with seven drivers having their driving privileges revoked as a result of impaired driving investigations.

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 12:04 a.m., members from the Leamington OPP Detachment responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Seacliff Drive East at County Road 33 in the Municipality of Leamington. Officers arrived on scene and determined the driver displayed signs of impairment.

As a result, Amy CORREIA, a 39-year-old resident of Amherstburg was charged with:

·                Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs

·                Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on August 26, 2025, to answer to the charges.

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 3:32 a.m., Members from the Tecumseh OPP Detachment responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on 10th Concession Road in the Town of Tecumseh. Police arrived on scene and spoke to one of the vehicle drivers. Officers arrested the driver after determining that the driver had previously consumed alcohol.

As a result, Michael ARPS, a 48-year-old resident of Essex was charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on August 26, 2025, to answer to the charges.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 10:55 a.m., members from the Leamington OPP Detachment responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 3 and County Road 31 in the Municipality of Leamington. Officers arrived on scene and determined one of the drivers displayed signs of impairment.

As a result, Zachary CRISTOFARO, a 30-year-old resident of Windsor was charged with:

·                Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs

·                Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·                Dangerous operation

·                Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device

·                Driver fail to surrender licence

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 45-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Members from the Essex OPP Detachment conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) on Talbot Street South in the Town of Essex. As a driver entered the checkpoint, officers determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol.

As a result, Stephen MACLEAN, a 53-year-old resident of Windsor was charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on August 28, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Upon speaking to the driver, officers determined the driver displayed signs of impairment.

As a result, John FRIEST, a 68-year-old resident of Windsor was charged with:

On August 17, 2025, at approximately 5:52 a.m., members from the Lakeshore OPP Detachment responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on County Road 46 and Manning Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore. Upon speaking to the driver, officers determined the driver displayed signs of impairment, the driver was arrested and was subjected to an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

As a result, Ranvir CHAL, a 40-year-old resident of Oakville was charged with:

·                Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on September 2, 2025, to answer to the charges.

On August 17, 2025, at approximately 12:27 p.m., members from the Leamington OPP Detachment responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at the entrance of Point Pelee National Park on Point Pelee Drive Municipality of Leamington. Officers arrived on scene and determined the driver displayed signs of impairment.

As a result, Ronald ENGELHARDT a 63-year-old resident of LaSalle was charged with:

·                Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on August 27, 2025, to answer to the charges.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

22 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

 (INGERSOLL, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a traffic complaint in Ingersoll which resulted in several charges.

On August 17, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., members of Oxford OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Harris Street.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew FORCE, a 22-year-old resident of Straffordville has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on September 23, 2025.

Mark DASILVA Was Arrested Again

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into an incident of property damage in Simcoe.

On Monday, August 18, 2025, at approximately 8:01 a.m., members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspected break and enter on Kent Street North.

The investigation determined that an individual had attended the property and caused damage to the exterior of a residence. No entry was gained.

As a result, 46-year-old Mark DASILVA from Norfolk County was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Mischief under $5,000,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order – two counts.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Ambulance Stolen

(TOWNSHIP OF CRAMAHE, ON) – Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the theft of an ambulance in Colborne.

On August 17, 2025, shortly after 11:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from William Street.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were attending a residence and upon returning to the ambulance, discovered that it had been taken. The vehicle was recovered a short time later at another location in town and was found unoccupied.

The OPP Canine Unit (K9) attended to assist officers in the investigation and no individuals were located in connection with the incident. Officers are following lines of inquiry, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Emergency vehicles are critical public assets, and their misuse directly affects the ability of paramedics to respond to life-threatening situations. Incidents like this not only disrupt emergency services but also jeopardize patient care and public safety across the wider community. The Ontario Provincial Police reminds the public that interfering with emergency operations can have serious consequences for everyone.

78 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(BRANT, ON) – On August 15, 2025, at approximately 7:48 a.m., members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver at a business located on Brant County Road 18.

Before officers arrived, concerned members of the public took decisive action to prevent the vehicle from leaving the parking lot, ensuring the safety of others on the road.

Following a police investigation, Manuel Escobar, 78, of Cambridge, was taken into custody and charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Driving a Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available

Skateboarder Arrested For Drunk Driving – Name Released

(Red Lake, ON) Members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) engaged a male operating a OneWheel Electric Skateboard in Balmertown, Ontario.

On Friday, August 15th, 2025 at approximately 10 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on an erratic driver and an impaired driving investigation commenced. The operator was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Kyle MELANSON, 36 years old of Balmertown, Ontario, was charged with:

–         Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

–         Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on September 18th, 2025. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

18 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges a young driver with several provincial offences.

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a traffic enforcement initiative and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, which lead to a traffic stop being initiated on Wellington Road 17 in Mapleton Township. An abundance of alcohol was located within the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old from Arthur, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence and Control Act with:

  • Young Driver – Blood alcohol concentration above zero
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Drive with windshield coated – view obstruction
  • Entire plate not plainly visible
  • Improper mudguards

The alcohol was seized. As per statute, the driver received a 30-day and a 3-day license suspension and their vehicle was impounded for a period of 14 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph, at a later date.
