Justin MATHERS Was Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Individual charged after disturbance in Parkhill.

On December 22, 2025, at 10:55 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Queens Avenue in Parkhill, Municipality of North Middlesex, for the report of a disturbance.

Officers arrived on scene at which time the individual was placed under arrest.

Justin MATHERS, a 35-year-old of North Middlesex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

The accused was held for bail.

One Dead South Of Exeter

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A single-vehicle rollover collision on London Road in the Municipality of South Huron has claimed the life of a 79-year-old North Middlesex resident. 

On Friday, December 19, 2025, just after 12:00 p.m., Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the South Huron Fire Department, and Huron County Paramedics, responded to a single-vehicle collision on London Road, just south of the Town of Exeter.

Emergency services located a damaged pickup truck with two occupants. The vehicle passenger was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the involved pickup truck was treated for minor injury.

The deceased was a 79-year-old male resident of North Middlesex. 

Our thoughts go out to the families of those individuals involved.

The OPP closed London Road for several hours as investigators examined the scene.

James SAUNDERS Arrested For Assault

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Disturbance investigation in North Middlesex results in charge.

On December 10, 2025, at 9:59 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in Parkhill, Municipality of North Middlesex, for the report of a disturbance.

While investigating the incident, an officer was assaulted.

The officer wasn’t injured.

James SAUNDERS, a 35-year-old of North Middlesex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault a Peace Officer

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on January 15, 2026, to speak to the charge.

Alexander BANKES Arrested After Family Dispute

(NORTH MIDDLESEX ON) – Family dispute at a residence in Dorchester leads to charges. 

On December 8, 2025, at 7:19 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address in Dorchester, Thames Centre, for the report of a family dispute.

An individual was placed under arrest and was transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

The victim was transported to hospital as a precaution.

As a result, Alexander BANKES, a 29-year-old of Dorchester, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault (two counts)
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

The accused was held for bail.

Giuseppe MALTESE Was Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Middlesex County OPP investigating a suspicious person incident in North Middlesex.

On November 20, 2025, at 1:30 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on McGillivray Drive in North Middlesex, for the report of a suspicious person incident.

Investigation revealed an unknown individual(s) was trespassing on a rural property.

The individual was located and placed under arrest.

As a result, Giuseppe MALTESE, a 51-year-old of North York, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Trespassing at Night

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on January 14, 2026 to speak to the charge.

Seal Arrested For Drunk Driving

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after vehicle leaves road and enters ditch.

On October 8, 2025, at 7:14 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Townsend Line near Ausable Road in the Municipality of North Middlesex, for the report of a single vehicle collision.

Investigation revealed a single vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch.

There were no injuries reported.

As a result, Jana SEAL, a 46-year-old of Strathroy, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on November 6, 2025.

15 Year Old Dead – Cornelis VERHEYEN Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have charged an individual as a result of a farming accident that claimed a life in North Middlesex.

On September 20, 2025, at 4:03 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP, Lambton County EMS and local fire were dispatched to a farm on Parkhill Drive in the Municipality of North Middlesex for the report of a farming accident.

Investigation revealed an individual was located unconscious in a well on the property and was subsequently transported to hospital.

The individual, a 15-year-old of Arkona, was later pronounced deceased at hospital. 

Members of the Middlesex County OPP along with the Ministry of Labour and Office of the Coroner were called in to assist with the investigation.

As a result, Cornelis VERHEYEN, a 58-year-old of North Middlesex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Causing Death by Criminal Negligence

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on December 18, 2025.

15 Year Old Deceased Following Farm Incident

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigating a farming accident that claimed a life in North Middlesex.

37 Year Old Deceased Following Rollover On Cedar Swamp Road

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigating a fatal collision in North Middlesex.

On August 15, 2025, at approximately 11:25 p.m., emergency services including members of the Middlesex County OPP, Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Thames Centre Fire, were dispatched to Cedar Swamp Road between McGillivray Drive and Mooresville Drive in the Municipality of North Middlesex, for the report of a single vehicle collision.

Investigation revealed a vehicle travelling on Cedar Swamp Road, left the roadway and rolled.

The driver, a 37-year-old male from North Middlesex, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Members of the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team attended the scene along with Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit to assist with the investigation.

Cedar Swamp Road between McGillivary Drive and Moorseville Drive was closed for the investigation.

75 Year Old From Parkhill Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after two-vehicle collision in North Middlesex.

On June 7, 2025, at 7:14 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex London Paramedic Service and North Middlesex Fire were dispatched the intersection of Centre Road and Nairn Road in North Middlesex for report of a serious two-vehicle collision between a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck.

Four individuals from the passenger vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where they were placed under arrest.

As a result, Mary GLANVILLE, a 75-year-old of Parkhill has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Dangerous operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 22, 2025.

45 Year Old From Parkhill Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after single vehicle collision.

On June 6, 2025, at 6:35 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Centre Road in North Middlesex for report of a single vehicle collision.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Joseph KILMER, a 45-year-old of Parkhill has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

·      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Driving while under suspension

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 29, 2025.

There were no injuries reported.

44 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge as a result of OPP RIDE Program.

On May 17, 2025, at 11:18 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in Ailsa Craig, the Municipality of North Middlesex.  

A vehicle entered the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Vasco PAIVA ROGNES PERES, a 44-year-old of Cambridge, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 25, 2025.

HODGINS Arrested For Assault

(NORTH MIDDLESEX ON) – Disturbance at a residence in Ailsa Craig leads to charges. 

On April 1, 2025, at 1:03 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Main Street in Ailsa Craig, North Middlesex, for the report of a family dispute.

An individual was placed under arrest at which time the accused damaged a door to the police cruiser.

As a result, Zachary HODGINS, a 29-year-old of Collingwood, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

The accused was held for bail.

Firearm & $10,000 In Tools Recovered – Dylan COMEAU Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Middlesex County OPP lay charges after break and enter investigation in North Middlesex.

On March 19, 2025, at 11:45 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Sylvan Road in North Middlesex, for the report of a break and enter.

Investigation revealed an unknown individual(s) forced entry into two storage sheds sometime during the overnight hours and proceeded to steal approximately $10,000 worth of tools, including a firearm. 

On March 21, 2025, members of the Elgin-Middlesex and Lambton Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine (K9) executed a search warrant at an address in Warwick Township, Lambton County.

The stolen firearm along with other property was recovered.

As a result, Dylan COMEAU, a 29-year-old of Arkona, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Unauthorized Poss of a Firearm
  • Poss of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada

The accused was held for bail.
