Norman ACOMATA Was Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual with impaired driving following a traffic complaint in Alliston.

On May 3, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Young Street, in the Town of New Tecumseth. The vehicle was described as being operated in a concerning manner. Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the driver’s arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Norman ACOMATA 32-years-old of New Tecumseth was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code – Two Counts
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on May 29, 2025, to answer to the charge.

More Repeat Offenders Arrested #3Strikes

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following a bail compliance investigation in the Town of New Tecumseth.

Back in February 2024 , the Nottawasaga Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) entered into an investigation when two brothers were found to be breaching several conditions on their court ordered release orders.

As a result of this investigation, on April 24 2025, the Nottawasaga OPP CRU with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant on a residence on King Street North in Alliston.

One individual was located in the home and arrested on scene while one individual was outstanding. Several items were seized such as scales, cellphones, knives, a replica fire arm, and a loaded shotgun with ammunition.

As a result of this investigation, Kody BERDAN, 36-years-old, of New Tecumseth, was arrested and charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order – Five Counts
  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Careless storage of a Firearm -Two Counts
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition, contrary to Prohibition Order -Two Counts
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm -Two Counts

On May 1 2025 the Nottawasaga CRU unit with the assistance of ERT, the Tactical Response Unit (TRU), and K9 were able to locate and arrest Darryl BERDAN, 40-years-old, of New Tecumseth, and charge with the following:

  • Failure to comply with release order – Four counts
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – Ten Counts
  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine -Two Counts
  • Careless storage of a Firearm – Two Counts
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Two Counts
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition, contrary to Prohibition Order – Three Counts
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00

The accused parties were both held for a bail hearing and are to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Mark CLAPHAM – Drunk Driving

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual with impaired driving following a ride spot check in Tottenham

On May 4, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP were conducting a ride spot check in the area of Mill Street East, in the Town of New Tecumseth. Officers were met with a driver and during the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the driver’s arrest. 

As a result of the investigation, Mark CLAPHAM 59-years-old of New Tecumseth was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on May 29, 2025, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

Sharon URDZINS – Drunk Driving

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON)-  Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint, leading officers to charge a driver with impaired operation.

On April 30, 2025, shortly after 11:30 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Victoria Street East, in the Town of New Tecumseth. The vehicle was described as being operated in a concerning manner. Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the driver’s arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Sharon URDZINS 42-years-old of Alliston was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Having care or control of motor vehicle with liquor in open baggage
  • Possess more than one licence

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on May 29, 2025, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

Stolen Property Recovered – 5 Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the Huronia West Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) of the Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant on Sideroad 17, in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On April 15, 2025, at 12:47 p.m officers executed a search warrant at an address on Sideroad 17 in New Tecumseth. Police located and seized a 2017 Jaguar XF Sedan valued at $30,000.00 reported stolen out of Peel Region, a U-Haul Van Valued at $15,000.00 that was reported stolen out of Guelph and a U-Haul trailer Valued $6000.00 that was reported stolen out of ajax. As a result of the investigation:

Thomas BROOKS 50-years-old of Schomberg was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession property obtained by Crime Over $5000.00 -Three Counts

Candace BRUSH 30-years-old of Mississauga was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession property obtained by Crime Over $5000.00 -Three Counts

Nicholas RADELJA 35 -years-old of Schomberg was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession property obtained by Crime Over $5000.00 -Three Counts

Andrew RADELJA 39-years-old of Schomberg was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession property obtained by Crime Over $5000.00 -Three Counts

Michael RADELJA 41-years-old of Schomberg was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession property obtained by Crime Over $5000.00 -Three Counts

The accused parties are to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Vikrant CHIBBER Was Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), have arrested and charged an individual in connection to a fraud investigation.

On April 9 2025, at 5:04 p.m., Officers responded to a report of a fraud at the RBC bank located at 4 King Street North, in the Town of New Tecumseth. The complainant reported that an individual came into the branch and provided a fake ID as well as a SIN letter trying to open an account under the fake ID name. The Caller still had the ID in hand and upon inspecting it the accused took it out of the callers hands in an attempt to flee.

The accused was described as Male, 5’8, facial hair, slim build, black shoes, khaki pants and a black jacket. Officers arrived on scene at which time the accused has just fled on foot, officers were able to quickly locate the male matching the description and as a result of the investigation,

Vikrant CHIBBER, a 25-year-old male of Brampton was arrested and charged with:

  • Use, deals, acts on forged document
  • Possession of an identity document
  • Identity Theft – obtain or possess another persons identity information
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused has been released and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 8 2025.

Michael SERVICE – Was Arrested After Failing To Stop

NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after failing to stop at a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On April 6, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP Officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on King Street North and Essa Road in Alliston. Officers observed a dark coloured passenger vehicleapproach the R.I.D.E stop-Check at a high-rate of speed, with no indication of slowing down or stopping. As the motor vehicle passed through the check-stop police verbally yelled at the driver who then pulled over approximately 50 meters south of the R.I.D.E. 

After a brief conversation with the driver, the smell of an alcoholic beverage was noted on the drivers breath. Additionally, officers observed the male driver to have bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. When officers asked for the driver to produce his drivers licence, the male began struggling to get the licence out of his wallet, eventually dropping it on the ground, not being able to produce it. Officers demanded the driver to exit the motor vehicle and was observed to be unsteady on his feet. Based on the numerous observed signs of intoxication and impairment, The driver was arrested and charged with operation while impaired.

At 1:17 a.m. Michael SERVICE 28-years-old from Orangeville, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 1, 2025.

Hit & Run – Fredrick RANKIN Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver involved in a collision with impaired operation in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On March 21, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a report of a passenger vehicle that had just struck a parked car in Cookstown then continued westbound on Highway 89 towards Alliston, no injuries were reported. 

Officers quickly located the vehicle, where the driver Fredrick RANKIN, 57-years-old of Keswick, displayed obvious signs of impairment and was arrested at 6:41 p.m. for the following:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to remain

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on May 1, 2025, to answer to the charges.

3 Arrested For Theft

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), of the Ontario Provincial Police have arrested three individuals in connection to a series of LCBO thefts in the Town of New Tecumseth.

In May 2024 Nottawasaga CSCU began an investigation as they received various calls from several LCBO locations in our area that the same individuals were shoplifting high value amounts of alcohol from several locations.

Nottawasaga CSCU with the assistance of the LCBO have identified and arrested a network of individuals committing the thefts that were occurring not only in the Nottawasaga detachment area, but throughout Huronia West, Collingwood, Caledon, and Dufferin OPP areas, reaching a total loss of $32,307.15.

On March 18 and 19, 2025 the following individuals have been arrested and charged by the Nottawasaga OPP.

Sharndeep SINGH 25-years-old of Brampton

  •  Theft over $5000.00 Shoplifting – Two counts
  • Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence 
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order -seven counts

Jagroop SINGH 30-years-old of Brampton

  • Theft over $5000.00 Shoplifting- Two counts
  • Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence 
  • Theft Under $5,000.00, Shoplifting 

Simranjeet SINGH24-years-old of Brampton

  • Theft over $5000.00 Shoplifting-Two counts
  • Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Fail to Comply With Probation Order -five counts

All accused parties have been held for a bail hearing and are to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Bryan SKIDMORE -Theft

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual after a report of a shop lift in progress at a local LCBO.

On March 19, 2025, at 5:18 p.m. Officers from the Nottawasaga OPP detachment were dispatched to a report of a shoplift in progress at 22 Dunham Drive in Alliston. The complainant reported that loss prevention services had one male in their custody for attempting to shoplift whiskey from the store.

Officers arrived on scene and located the individual who had attempted to steal one bottle of Canadian Club Premium (1750 ml) – $69.75 and one bottle of Alberta Premium Whiskey (1750 ml) – $69.75 a total value of $139.90 was returned to the store.

Initially, the accused provided officers with a false identity and upon further investigation, officers were able to positively identify the accused individual.

As a result, 44-year-old Bryan SKIDMORE, of Southgate Township has been arrested and charged with:

·      Theft Under $5000 – shoplifting

·      Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on May 1 2025 to answer to the charges.

Jessica O’BRIEN Arrested For Fraud

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), have arrested and charged an individual in connection to a fraud investigation.

On February 6 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to a fraud incident located at 233 Church St South, at the Community Living Association South Simcoe (CLASS) in Alliston. The complainant advised officers that they believed an employee of CLASS had been using a company credit card for personal purchases.

Upon further investigation it was determined that between the months of November 2023 and February 2024 a total of $122,162.15 had been spent on the company credit card. Officers conducted a year long investigation that has led to the arrest of the individual involved.

On February 27 2025 Jessica O’BRIEN 38-years-old from Essa was charged with the following :

  • Fraud Over $5000
  • Permit – use of credit card data

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on April 3 2025 to answer to the charges.

Adam GIBSON Was Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual after a report of a shop lift at a local grocery store.

On February 27, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shoplift in progress at 30 King Street South in Alliston. The complainant reported that a male, approximately 30-years-old, 5 foot 9 wearing a brown jacket, jeans and black shoes was observed stealing beers, putting them in his backpack then last seen walking westbound towards Dollarama.

Officers located the individual matching the description with the stolen property from the store containing of six 473 ml James Ready beers and twelve 473 ml of Molson Canadian beers, along with what appeared to be suspected cocaine. Upon further investigation, officers learned that that accused was also wanted on an outstanding warrant with the Nottawasaga OPP.

As a result, 34-year-old Adam GIBSON, of Loretto has been arrested and charged with:

·      Theft Under $5000 – shoplifting

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·     Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused has been held for a bail hearing.

1 Dead: Milton URGILES Arrested & Sentenced

(NEW TECUMSETH) – On September 22, 2020, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single commercial motor vehicle collision on Townline Road, in the Town of New Tecumseth, between Concession 2 and Concession 3.

Officers located a commercial motor vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle had been travelling northbound on Townline Road when it lost control and collided with a tree in the west side ditch. Townline Road was closed between the 2nd and 3rd Concessions for several hours. 

The driver of the vehicle succumbed to the injuries as a result of the crash.

Upon further investigation, it was found that the supervisor and manager of the company who owned the Commercial Vehicle Operators Registration (CVOR) for the involved commercial motor vehicle, failed to properly maintain the vehicle that resulted in a mechanical failure ultimately leading to the collision.

As a result, on May 4, 2021, the company owner the Milton URGILES 48-years-old of Etobicoke was charged with the following:

  • Causing Death by Criminal Negligence.

On July 20, 2024, the accused was found guilty of Causing Death by Criminal Negligence.

On February 18, 2025, the accused was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.

Nicole GREENWOOD: Drunk Driving

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one driver for stunt driving and driving while impaired in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On February 22, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m., A Nottawasaga OPP officer was conducting mobile radar enforcement on Highway 89 East of County Road 56 in the Town of New Tecumseth. The officer observed a truck travelling at a high rate of speed ahead of another vehicle eastbound on highway 89. The officer locked their mobile radar at 130km per hour in a 80 km per hour zone.

The officer conducted a traffic stop at which time demanded the driver provide the documents to the vehicle and valid Ontario drivers licence. During this interaction the officer formed grounds of impairment. The officer issued an ASD (Alcohol Screening Device) demand where the driver subsequently registered a “fail”.

At 9:02 p.m., the driver: Nicole GREENWOOD 25 years-old, of Holland Landing, was arrested and charge with:  

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed

The accused was released on a form 10 Undertaking and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 20 2025.

Sarah TRABOULAY Was Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual with impaired driving following a RIDE check in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On February 21, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m., members of Nottawasaga OPP were conducting a RIDE spot check for sobriety on Sideroad 10. A vehicle entered the RIDE spot check and police began an impaired driving investigation after forming grounds of impairment. 

At 12:34 p.m. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Nottawasaga OPP Detachment.

As a result, Sarah TRABOULAY 41-years-old, of Clearview, was arrested and charge with:  

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
