Tyler CLARK Runs Stop Signs & Gets Drunk Driving Charge

(LEAMINGTON, ON)- On January 9, 2025, at 11:13 p.m., a member of Leamington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol when they observed a vehicle being operated by a suspected impaired driver on Talbot Street West, Municipality of Leamington.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver; they were transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Tyler CLARK, a 38-year-old of Wheatley, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

·        Driver fail to surrender licence

·        Disobey stop sign – fail to stop (Two Counts)

·        Fail to notify change of address – licence

·        Careless driving

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on January 21, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

HERNANDEZ-JIMENEZ Was Arrested

(LEAMINGTON, ON)-On January 5, 2025, at 12:15 a.m., a member of Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol when they observed a vehicle being operated by a suspected impaired driver on Erie Street North, Municipality of Leamington.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver; they were transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Lorenzo HERNANDEZ-JIMENEZ, a 34-year-old of Leamington, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on January 22, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Pervert Alert: Matthew WIPER Arrested – Details Released

(LEAMINGTON, ON) The Leamington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual following a suspicious person investigation.

On December 29, 2024, at approximately 11:19 p.m., members of the Leamington OPP Detachment received a report of a suspicious individual at a residence on Deer Run Road in the Municipality of Leamington.

As a result of the investigation, Matthew WIPER, 42-year-old of Leamington, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

·        Voyeurism

·        Trespassing at Night

·        Public Mischief

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on January 17, 2025.

The Essex County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate, as investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Essex County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

$19,000 Drug Bust – Names Released

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – Police have charged two individuals following the execution of a warrant in Leamington.

On December 10, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) Unit, OPP K9 Unit and Leamington OPP uniform members, executed a search warrant at an address on Seacliff Drive West in the Municipality of Leamington.

During the search, officers seized a quantity of illicit drugs suspected to be Fentanyl and Psilocybin, stolen property, a firearm and ammunition. Total value of items seized is $19,300.

As a result of the investigation, Salah HALABI, 30-years-of-age of Leamington was arrested and charged. The accused is also facing charges related to a stolen motor vehicle in Leamington reported on November 17, 2024.

The charges are:

·        Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition (Two Counts)

·        Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

·        Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (Two Counts)

·        Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

·        Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)

·        Possession of a credit card

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (Four Counts)

·        Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (Three Counts)

·        Failure to comply with undertaking (Three Counts)

·        Operation while prohibited.

The accused has been held pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

And also, Jessica BOWDEN, 26 years-of-age of Leamington was arrested and charged with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (Three Counts)

·        Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

·        Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition (Two Counts)

·        Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

·        Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·        Possession of a credit card

The accused is scheduled to appear the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on January 14, 2025.

The investigation remains under investigation.

David GORDON Facing Weapons Charges

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – Police have charged an individual following the execution of a warrant in Leamington.

On November 27, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex County Community Street Crime Unit, West Region OPP Emergency Response Unit (ERT) members and Leamington OPP uniform members, executed a search warrant at an address on Bowman Avenue in the Municipality of Leamington.

During the search, officers seized items including a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, David GORDON, 42-year-old of Leamington was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

·        Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition (Two Counts)

·        Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on January 8, 2025.

The investigation remains under investigation.

Brian MOORE – Drunk Driving

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – A driver was arrested after police located an individual asleep in a vehicle on Erie Street North in the Municipality of Leamington.

On December 2, 2024, at approximately 5:49 p.m., members of the Leamington detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an individual asleep in a vehicle in a drive through of a business on Erie Street North in the Municipality of Leamington.

As a result of the investigation, 52-year-old Brian MOORE of Leamington has been charged with the following offences:

·        Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on December 12, 2024.

2 Arrested For Break & Enter – Names Released

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – Leamington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made arrests after investigating a series of reported break and enters at bunkhouses in the Municipality of Leamington.

The individuals have been arrested and charged in relation to Break and Enters reported on November 11 and November 25, 2024. 

On November 25, 2024, at approximately 09:55 p.m., members of the Essex County OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) conducted a traffic stop of a suspected stolen vehicle on Erie Street North in the Municipality of Leamington. Two occupants of the vehicle were arrested. Investigators located items including personal identification and credit cards. 

Christopher TAVARES, 35 years-of age from Leamington has been charged with:

  • Use of Credit Card (Nine counts)
  • Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence (Two Counts)
  • Disguise with Intent (Three Counts)
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
  • Possession of an identity document

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

Peter FRIESEN, 43 years-of age from Leamington has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
  • Possession of an identity document
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

Jayden HUNTER – Impaired Driving

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – The Leamington detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a driver with impaired while conducting a RIDE spot-check on Oak Street West, Municipality of Leamington.

On November 19, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., an individual was placed under arrest after police assessed the driver’s sobriety.

As a result, 30-year-old Jayden HUNTER of Lakeshore has been charged with the following charges:

·        Operation While Impaired

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on December 4, 2024.

Violent Home Invasion

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Essex County Detachment is investigating a home invasion in the Municipality of Leamington.

On November 16, 2024, at approximately 5:18 a.m., members of the Essex County OPP responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence on Robson Road in the Municipality of Leamington.

It was reported that two unknown individuals entered the residence and confronted two occupants within the residence. Both occupants suffered minor injuries as a result of an altercation with the unknown persons.

Following the incident, the two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

Investigators believe this to be a targeted incident and there is no threat to public safety.

The investigation is continuing.

Bernhard THIESSEN – Impaired Driving

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – On November 10, 2024, at approximately 6:55 p.m., Leamington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Sherk Street near Pulford Road in the Municipality of Leamington.

Officers arrived on scene to find a vehicle had struck another vehicle and a fence.

As a result of the investigation, Bernhard THIESSEN, 53-years-of age from Leamington was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Dangerous operation

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice Windsor, on November 29, 2024.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Joseph ANDARY Was Arrested Again

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – A search warrant was executed by the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), members from the Leamington OPP detachment and assistance by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Canine Unit with Police Service Dog “Philie”, resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, cash, and stolen property with a total value exceeding $110,000.

An investigation was initiated by members of the Essex County OPP CSCU which led investigators to an address in the 100 block of Talbot Street West, Municipality of Leamington.

On Friday, October 11, 2024, investigators executed a search warrant at the Talbot Street West address which resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine, stolen property, cash and other offence-related items. One individual has been arrested and charged.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $104,024.

Joseph ANDARY, 35 years of age from Leamington has been charged with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine (Two Counts)

·        Unauthorized Possession of Weapon 

·        Possession of an identity document 

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada

·        Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (Two Counts)

·        Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Four Counts)

The accused was processed and was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Leamington Detachment, has charged an individual following a traffic stop.

On October 4, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a member of the Leamington OPP stopped a passenger vehicle on Maskew Street, Municipality of Leamington after observing a Highway Traffic Act violation.

As a result of the investigation, Jonhy ESCOBAR-FLORES a 39-year-old from Leamington has been charged with:

A 90-day drivers licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on October 16, 2024.

Drug & Weapons Bust – Names Released

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – On September 11, 2024, at approximately 12:06 a.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leamington Detachment was on patrol on Russell Street in the Municipality of Leamington and observed a suspicious vehicle with the engine running and two individuals appeared to be asleep inside.

The officer approached the vehicle and observed open alcohol and attempted the awake the occupants of the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, two individuals were taken into custody without incident. Police seized a firearm, a quantity of illicit drugs including suspected fentanyl, several knives and other offence-related property. 

Tanya Marie SMITH, 46-year-old of Kingsville, has been arrested and charged with the following:

·        Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place S. 8(1)(a) CA

·        Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With S. 108(1)(b) CC

·        Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order S.117.01(1) CC

·        Failure to comply with undertaking S.145(4)(a) CC

·        Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition S. 86(1) CC (TWO COUNTS)

·        Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose S.88 CC

·        Carrying concealed weapon S.90 CC

·        Unauthorized Possession of Weapon S.91(2) CC

Kyle QUICK – Drunk Driving

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – A traffic stop for speeding led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On September 9, 2024, shortly after 10:00 p.m., members of the Leamington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Mersea Road 1, Municipality of Leamington.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle QUICK, 29-year-old of Leamington, was arrested charged under the Criminal Code (CC), Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA) and the Cannabis Control Act (CCA) with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Speeding 1-49Km/h over posted limit
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 19, 2024, in the City of Windsor to speak to the charges.
