Connor LACOURSE – Luring Child #PervertAlert

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – An Ajax resident is facing multiple charges after a child-luring investigation in the Hawkesbury area.

On Monday, June 23, 2025, officers with the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of inappropriate content being sent to a teenaged girl online.

Members of the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit began an investigation.

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, members of the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit, assisted by local OPP officers and members of the Durham Regional Police Service, traveled to Ajax where they executed a search warrant and made an arrest.

Connor LACOURSE, age 28 of Ajax, has been charged with:

  • Luring a person under 16 by means of telecommunication
  • Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age
  • Possession of child pornography
  • Transmit sexually explicit material to a person under 16

The accused was released on conditions following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear by video before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on August 27, 2025.

Drug Bust – GORRY & PORTELANCE

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after the seizure of illegal drugs in Hawkesbury.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation earlier this year into drug trafficking in the area.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, members of the Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Higginson Street in Hawkesbury. Two people were arrested at the scene.

Officers seized suspected cocaine, suspected methamphetamine, suspected hydromorphone pills, and an unknown opioid powder. They also seized nearly $1700 in cash and items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Richard GORRY, age 60 and Alexandre PORTELANCE, age 33, both of Hawkesbury, have been charged with:

  • Traffick in a Schedule 1 substance – four counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused were release from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on August 20, 2025.

The investigation is continuing.

Jeremiah MYRE Was Arrested

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made a quick arrest after someone attempted to steal a vehicle from a dealership in Hawkesbury

On Monday, July 7, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m. officers from the Hawkesbury Detachment responded to reports of a suspicious person at the dealership on Tupper Street. An individual had just left the scene after a failed attempt to start a vehicle on the lot.

An officer spotted a vehicle leaving the area and was able to identify the driver before that person fled.

Officers located and arrested the male around 5:30 a.m. at a residence in Champlain Township.

Jeremiah MYRE, age 42, has been charged with:

  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Operation of a vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal today.

Attempted Murder – Name Released

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – One person has been charged with attempted murder after an incident in Hawkesbury.

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., an officer from the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was flagged down outside a residence on Main Street East in Hawkesbury,

It was learned that a 39-year-old male had been assaulted in the nearby Pioneer Park area and had suffered stab wounds. Additional officers converged on the scene and conducted first aid until Russell County Paramedics arrived. They transported the victim to hospital. The male was later transferred to a regional trauma centre for treatment of serious injuries.

Officers located an arrested a suspect in the area without further incident.

Alexandre PIETTE-RACINE, age 25 of Champlain Township has been charged with attempt to commit murder.

The accused remains in custody with a bail hearing scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Friday, May 30, 2025.

The Hawkesbury Crime Unit is continuing the investigation, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit.

Stolen Vehicles Recovered – Names Released

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has made six arrests following the recovery of stolen vehicles in two separate incidents.

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, shortly before 3:00 a.m., officers located and stopped a stolen vehicle on Highway 417 eastbound in Nation Township. 69-year-old Ronald HOULE of Saint-Come, Quebec, 25-year-old Leonard Paul Rene OTOGHE MINKOUE of Montreal, and 26-year-old Maxime PIMPARE of Pointe Aux Tremble, Quebec were arrested and charged with:

·      Possessing an automobile master key

·      Possession of break in instruments

·      Theft of a vehicle

·      Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000

·      Mischief to computer data

·      Trafficking in property obtained by crime

In addition, HOULE and PIMPARE were also charged with failure to comply with an undertaking. OTOGHE MINKOUE was also charged with failure to comply with an undertaking and fail to comply with a probation order.

Then, about an hour later, just after 4:00 a.m., officers responded to a report that someone was trying to steal a vehicle. Officers with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, arrested three individuals. 25-year-old Stevenson BOIRON of Montreal, 21-year-old Angellio GAUDREAULT-CORBIN of Laval and 18-year-old William CHAVARIE of Anjou, Quebec were arrested and charged with:

·      Possessing an automobile master key

·      Theft of a vehicle

·      Possession break in instruments

·      Mischief to computer data

All six individuals were held for a bail hearing today (March 6, 2025) before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal.

Pervert Alert: Kevin LESSARD Child Porn

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hawkesbury Detachment has charged a Hawkesbury resident following a child sexual exploitation investigation.

The investigation, supported by the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU), resulted in a search warrant executed at a residence, and electronic devices were seized.

Kevin LESSARD, 33 years of age, was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.

The accused was released after a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on March 26, 2025.

The OPP will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children. Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by speaking with their children about internet safety. Christopher MYRE Was Arrested

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged one person as a result of a collision investigation.

On December 4, 2024, just before 8:30 p.m., officers attended a collision between a pedestrian and vehicle on Front Road, just east of Hawkesbury. The pedestrian was wearing all black clothing and had been walking in the middle of the highway during a snow storm.

Officers discovered the pedestrian – 24-year-old Christopher MYRE from Hawkesbury – was wanted for previous outstanding charges.

As a result, MYRE was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and Highway Traffic Act:

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • Pedestrian on roadway fail to keep to left edge

MYRE was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. He was then held for bail and is scheduled to appear in court on December 5, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.

Another Officer Charged With Assault #FilmThePolice #FTP

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Professional Standards Unit (PSU) has charged an officer in connection with an incident at the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment.

On July 1, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a vehicle was observed driving through the staff parking lot of the Hawkesbury Detachment in what was described as a suspicious manner.

Officers responded as two individuals exited the vehicle. During the interaction, the two individuals suffered injuries which required medical treatment.

The OPP Professional Standards Unit launched an investigation in July 2024 into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Two officers were suspended with pay, under the terms of the Community Safety and Policing Act, while PSU conducted their investigation.

As a result of the investigation, on November 22, 2024, Provincial Constable Alexandre BOLDUC of the Hawkesbury Detachment was charged with two counts of assault.

The officer has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.

The officer has been a member of the OPP for 9 years.

The PSU investigation remains ongoing.

The Professional Standards Unit is part of the OPP’s Office of Professionalism, Respect, Inclusion and Leadership.

Stephane WATHIER Was Arrested

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit has charged a Hawkesbury resident with drug trafficking.

Street Crime Unit members, assisted by members of the Hawkesbury Detachment, executed a search warrant on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at a residence on James Street in Hawkesbury. They seized more than 450 suspected methamphetamine pills, nearly eight grams of suspected cocaine and several hydromorphone tablets, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking

One person was arrested at the scene.

Stephane WATHIER, age 56 of Hawkesbury, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime-under $5000

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on December 4, 2024.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – 4 Arrested

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has made four arrests following the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

On November 5, 2024, at approximately 4:25 am, officers located and stopped a stolen vehicle headed eastbound on Highway 417 in Champlain Township.

As a result, 23-year-old Kane ABDOULAYE of Montreal, 20-year-old Marc Tony CADET of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, and 18-year-old Delmarkson ROD of Longueuil were arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possessing automobile master key
  • Possession break in instruments

The three males were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on November 27, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice. 

A 17-year-old male from Montreal was also arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and Highway Traffic Act (his identity protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act):

  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada
  • Drive motor vehicle – no license

The youth was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 28, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.

Daniel BROWN Was Arrested Again

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – Drug trafficking and other charges have been laid after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) seized dangerous drugs in Hawkesbury.

CSCU and Hawkesbury OPP Detachment members executed a search warrant on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at a residence on Abbott Street.

Officers seized nearly 30-grams of suspected psilocybin, nearly 20-grams of suspected cocaine, as well as suspected crack cocaine and speed. They also seized over $5,700 in cash, a functioning stun gun, two replica firearms, a spiked-weapon and items typically associated to drug trafficking. One person was arrested at the scene despite efforts to avoid being taken into custody.

Daniel BROWN, age 50 of Hawkesbury, has been charged with:

  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
  • Failure to comply with a prohibition order – four counts

The accused was released from custody and is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 27, 2024.

More Impaired Drivers

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The marine unit of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) issued 14 tickets, and laid two criminal charges this Canada Day long weekend. The most common offences were issued for improper or missing equipment, and open alcohol on board.

On June 30, 2024, the marine unit conducted a traffic stop on a jet ski in the Ottawa River near Voyageur Provincial Park. 59-year-old Jocelyn Mondou from St-Joseph-Du-Lac was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code (CC):

  • CC – Adult operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • CC – Adult operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 31, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice. 

On July 1, 2024, the marine unit conducted a traffic stop on a boat in the Ottawa River near Hawkesbury. The driver, 44-year-old Alexandre Goyette from Grenville-Sur-La-Rouge, was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code (CC), Canada Shipping Act (CSA), and Liquor Licence & Control Act (LLCA):

  • CC – Adult failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • CSA – Operating vessel with safety equipment not in good working order
  • CSA – Operating pleasure craft without copy of licence on board
  • LLCA – Operating boat underway with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 14, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.

Only One Headlight Leads To $30,000 Drug Bust

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people, and seized more than $30,000 worth of drugs and $2,235 in Canadian currency following a traffic stop.

On April 16, 2024, at approximately 1:20 a.m., OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle headed eastbound on Highway 417 at mile marker 35 due to a burnt out headlight.

As a result of the investigation, the driver – 34-year-old Etienne Joseph Montpetit from Ottawa – was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), and the Criminal Code (CC):

  • CDSA – Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • CDSA – Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • CDSA – Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs
  • CC Adult possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

The passenger, 39-year-old Ryan Gordon from Ottawa, was also charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), and the Criminal Code (CC):

  • CDSA – Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • CDSA – Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • CDSA – Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs
  • CC Adult possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

Both males were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on May 8, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.

OPP Warn Thieves Targeting Heavy Machinery

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to warn local business owners of heavy machinery theft in The Nation Municipality.

On March 30, 2024, a male suspect was observed trespassing on private property at a business near St Isidore, and acting suspiciously around heavy machinery.

On April 2, 2024, a backhoe valued at approximately $235,000 was stolen from a business located at a different property in the same area.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Hawkesbury OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are working on any leads they may have.

Officers urge business owners to take necessary steps to protect themselves from theft. Here are a few tips for preventing theft of heavy machinery:

  • Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors and pocket the key.
  • Park other vehicles around heavy machinery to act as a deterrent to thieves.
  • Consider installing security cameras and alarms in the yard and at the entrance.
  • Consider installing motion-activated lights in the yard.
  • Install a third party GPS tracking device in high-value machinery.
  • Ensure gates or access points are locked and secured before leaving at night.

Ahmed OUMALLOUK & Abdelaziz SENOUCI Arrested

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals after a vehicle failed to stop for police.

On February 27, 2024, at approximately 03:35 a.m. on Highway 417, an OPP officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle at mile marker 62 in The Nation municipality. The vehicle failed to stop.

At approximately 04:30 a.m. on Highway 417 near mile marker 4, the same vehicle was stopped by officers using a tire deflation device.

As a result, 19-year-old male Ahmed OUMALLOUK from Montreal was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada (CC):

  • CC 320.17 Adult flight from peace officer
  • CC 353(1)(b) Adult possessing automobile master key
  • CC 145(5)(a) Adult failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • CC 351(1) Adult possession break in instruments
  • CC 88 Adult possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

Abdelaziz SENOUCI, a 21-year-old male from Montreal, was also arrested and charged with the following under the Criminal Code of Canada (CC):

  • CC 353(1)(b) Adult possessing automobile master key
  • CC 733.1(1) Adult fail to comply with probation order – 2 counts
  • CC 355(b) Adult possession property obtained by crime under $5000
  • CC 351(1) Adult possession break in instruments
  • CC 88 Adult possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

Both males were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on March 20, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.
