Ella TAYLOR Was Arrested

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Waterloo resident with two criminal charges stemming from a two-motor vehicle collision.

On June 4, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a two-motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 7 within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, Ella TAYLOR, a 24-year-old of Waterloo is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

As a result of the collision, the other driver was sent to local hospital as a precaution with minor injuries.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on June 20, 2025.

James IRONSIDE Was Arrested

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest and the charge person responsible for break and enter within local community.

On April 27, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to an active report of a break and enter / theft which occurred at a local residence on Second Line within Guelph-Eramosa Township. It was reported that the caller was in fresh foot-pursuit of the suspect, whom they located on their property.

Shortly thereafter, police arrived on scene, located the suspect and arrested them without issue.

As a result of the investigation, James IRONSIDE, 33-year-old of Guelph was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Amandeep BOPARAI – Drunk Driving

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident with two criminal charges, stemming from an impaired investigation.

On April 22, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a single motor-vehicle collision, where the vehicle had rolled multiple times, knocking down hydro-poles and wires, causing significant damage and causing the entire road to be closed. The driver sustained minor injuries, was assessed medically by paramedics, but not required to attend local hospital. Thankfully, no one else was hurt as a result of this poor decision.

As a result of this investigation, Amandeep BOPARAI, a 46-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on May 6. 2025.

Maik WITTE Was Arrested

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a traffic stop in Rockwood.

On April 7, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Rockwood.  It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Wellington OPP operations centre in Rockwood.

As a result of the investigation, Maik WITTE, a 46-year-old from Guelph-Eramosa Township is charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on April 25, 2025.

Stolen Truck Vs Home

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – On April 6, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with other emergency services responded to a serious, motor vehicle collision just north of Guelph on Conservation Road near Highway 6. Initial reports indicated that a black pickup truck had left the roadway and struck a single-family dwelling causing extensive structural damage to the home.

Investigation revealed that the pick-up truck had been reported stolen earlier from a business nearby.

The occupant(s) of the vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival. The resident of the home was uninjured.

The Wellington County OPP is continuing to investigate and is asking anyone in the area if they witnessed anything suspicious or have video surveillance or dashcam footage, to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.

Active Investigation: Avoid Kaine Hill Drive

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently assisting Guelph Police Service with an active investigation on Kaine Hill Drive within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

On April 3, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Wellington County OPP was made aware of an active Guelph Police Service investigation and requested the Wellington OPP’s assistance on Kaine Hill Drive.

As a result of the active investigation, the public can expect a police presence on Kaine Hill Drive within Guelph-Eramosa Township for an extended period of time. The public is asked to stay clear of the area, and there is no risk to public safety.

The investigation is in its early stages. Any questions regarding to the investigation is to be forwarded to the Guelph Police Service.

19 Year Old Arrested – Details Released

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – On March 30, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Eastview Road in the Township of Guelph-Eramosa.

During the operation, a vehicle entered the RIDE program. As a result of the investigation, Jonas SILLINGLE, 19-years-old from Rockwood, was charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80

–      Young Driver-blood alcohol concentration above zero

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on April 11, 2025.

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) criminally charge a Kitchener resident, stemming from a two motor-vehicle collision.

On March 24, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a two motor-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 31, within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, Milind RAVAL, a 45-year-old of Kitchener is charged under the Criminal Code with:

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

Peter DESILVA – Drunk Driving

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident criminally, stemming from a motor vehicle collision.

On March 11, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Jones Baseline, just outside of the City of Guelph.

On arrival and as a result of the investigation, Peter DESILVA, a 49-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

Jonathan EVANS Was Arrested

(GUELPH/ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Rockwood resident in relation to an impaired driving arrest.

On February 27, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a motorist attended the south Wellington County OPP Operations Centre on Wellington Road 27 in Rockwood. The motorist was looking to speak with police regarding an unrelated matter. 

Police spoke with the driver and as a result of the investigation, Michael Jonathan EVANS, a 29-year-old of Rockwood is charged under the Criminal Code with: Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 11, 2025.

Fatal Collision

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – One person is deceased as a result of a motor vehicle collision.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and local emergency services responded to a three-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 51, near Ariss.

The collision involved two pick-up trucks and a sedan. As a result, one of the drivers was pronounced deceased on scene. No other injuries were reported.

Wellington Road 51 is currently closed between Fourth Line and Sixth Line and it is anticipated that the roadway will remain closed for the next 6 hours while officers continue to investigate.

OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team are assisting with the investigation.

(Guelph-Eramosa Township, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident criminally stemming from a three-vehicle collision.

On February 14, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellington Road 30 and Wellington Road 86 in the Township of Guelph-Eramosa.

As a result of the investigation, Rene CHABOT, a 36-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision.

On February 1, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a traffic enforcement initiative and initiated a traffic stop on Highway 6 within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, Bryan LAWRIE, a 34-year-old of Fergus is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

2 Injured In Hit & Run – FLETCHER Arrested

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges local resident with two Criminal charges stemming from failing to remain at the scene of a collision where two people were injured.

On December 6, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., the Wellington County OPP received a report of a fail to remain collision on Wellington Road 39 within Guelph-Eramosa Township. The collision involved three motor vehicles, where two separate drivers were injured and taken to local hospital for treatment, and one vehicle had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

OPP, alongside other emergency services attended the scene and began the investigation. It was reported that one driver sustained minor injuries, while the other’s injuries were considered serious. However, both drivers’ injuries were deemed non-life threatening and were treated at hospital.

As a result of the investigation, Landon FLETCHER, a 19-year-old of Guelph-Eramosa Township was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm
  • Fail to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 14, 2025.

Tristan T. LITT – Impaired Operation

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On December 9, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m. an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment initiated a traffic stop on Wellington Road 124, Guelph-Eramosa.

As a result of the investigation, Tristan T. LITT, 29 years-old of Guelph, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on December 24, 2024.
