Road Rage Leads To Arrest

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – A driver was charged with impaired driving following a complaint of a road rage incident.

On October 21, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a possible road rage incident on Alma Street in Rockwood.

As a result of the investigation, Jonathon CRISPI, a 47-year-old from Rockwood, is charged under the Criminal Code of Canada, the Liquor License and Control Act and the Cannabis Control Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 4, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute

Pervert Alert: Daniel Thomas RIDGEWAY – Luring & Child Pornography #3Strikes

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – One individual been arrested and criminally charged in relation to a child luring investigation.

On June 11, 2024, the Wellington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted as a result of a public complaint. 

As a result of the investigation, on October 15, 2025, the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit arrested and charged Daniel Thomas RIDGEWAY, aged 39 of Guelph-Eramosa Township, with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication
  • Make prints, publishes or possession for the purpose of publication of any child pornography

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on October 15, 2025.

Driver & Business Charged

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit charges London resident, alongside a business in-relation to a traffic stop within Wellington County.

On October 3, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m. the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative and initiated a traffic stop on a commercial motor vehicle off Wellington County Road 39 within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old from London is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive commercial motor vehicle – improper licence
  • Fail to surrender inspection schedule
  • Fail to surrender completed daily inspection report
  • Insecure load – commercial motor vehicle
  • Drive commercial motor vehicle – no valid CVOR certificate

The accused was also given warnings under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act for:

  • Operate vehicle – fail to display inspection sticker or proof (two counts)
  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Fail to surrender permit for trailer
  • Driver of commercial motor vehicle – fail to carry proof of insurance
  • Use plate not authorised for vehicle
  • Overweight vehicle – violate permit …kg

Additionally, a business associated to the traffic stop is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operate commercial motor vehicle – no valid CVOR certificate
  • Fail to supply driver with daily inspection schedule
  • Fail to ensure daily inspection is conducted properly
  • Permit operation of vehicle – fail to display inspection sticker or proof (two counts)
  • Permit use of plate not authorized for vehicle
  • Overweight vehicle – violate permit …kg
  • Permit person with improper licence to drive commercial motor vehicle
  • Driver of commercial motor vehicle – fail to carry proof of insurance
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
  • Permit operation of commercial motor vehicle with load not secured as prescribed

All accused involved are scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph at a later date.

Commercial motor vehicle (CMV) collisions carry unique risks. (132,277 lbs). Mount Forest Assault #WaitInTheTruck

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with multiple criminal offences following an intimate partner dispute.

On October 5, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Wellington OPP responded to a disturbance at a residence in Mount Forest.

As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old from Mount Forest, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault – Spousal
  • Mischief – Domestic

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).

3 Arrested in Stolen Vehicle Stop: Weapons, Meth & Cash Seized in Guelph-Eramosa

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals following a traffic stop. 

On October 1, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP, was conducting proactive patrol when their cruiser’s Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system registered a “hit” on a stolen motor vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Fourth Line in Guelph Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation three individuals were placed under arrest.

Ryan MCKAY, a 44-year-old from Wellington North Township, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000

MCKAY was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph.

Michael PURCELL, a 43-year-old from Cambridge, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Driving while under suspension

PURCELL was released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 7, 2025.

Lastly, Sarah WILBEE, a 39-year-old from Cambridge, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000

WILBEE was released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 7, 2025.

Hwy 7 Sexual Assault – Details Released

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – One individual is facing Criminal Code charges following a sexual assault investigation.

The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.

On September 9, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched an investigation after receiving information of a sexual assault which occurred on Highway 7 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Jeffrey MAST, a 60-year-old from Guelph-Eramosa Township, was charged on September 16, 2025, under the Criminal Code with:

  • Sexual Assault
  • Criminal Harassment

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph on October 24, 2025.

Do You Recognize This Home Invader

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating two Break and Enter incidents which occurred on the same street and on the same day. Police are requesting public assistance in identifying the suspect.

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a residence on Wellington Road 29, within Guelph-Eramosa Township regarding a Break and Enter occurrence, involving an unknown suspect forcibly entering into an unoccupied residence.

Officers then received a subsequent call, regarding another residence on Wellington Road 29 being entered into while the home owners were away.

Investigators are actively conducting an ongoing investigation and are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect. More information will be provided when available.

It is believed that the suspect was in the area between 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Troy CLEGHORN Arrested Following Collision

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Rockwood resident with two criminal charges stemming from a two-motor vehicle collision.

On September 5, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a two-motor vehicle collision on Main Street in Rockwood.

Troy CLEGHORN, a 25-year-old from Rockwood, is charged with the following:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
  • Fail to Remain

None of the involved parties sustained any injuries.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Gary MCCLENNAN Arrested

(GUEPLH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft-in-progress involving a motor vehicle, resulting in officers attending the area shortly thereafter, locating the suspect, and placing them into custody.

On September 3, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were on proactive patrol when a report came in of a recently stolen motor vehicle within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Police attended the area and as a result of the investigation, and swift actions by OPP uniform members, Gary MCCLENNAN, a 35-year-old Guelph, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The victim’s motor vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.

The accused has been placed into police custody, pending a bail hearing.

Jacob DUQUETTE Facing Numerous Charges

(ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid several charges against driver following collision in Guelph-Eramosa.

On August 25, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP alongside local paramedic and fire services, received a call for service regarding a two-motor vehicle collision on Fife Road in the Township of Guelph-Eramosa, due to a vehicle failing to stop for a stop sign.

As a result of the investigation, Jacob DUQUETTE, a 31-year-old from Guelph, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada, Highway Traffic Act and Controlled Drugs & Substances Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drug – Causing Bodily Harm
  • Failure to Stop after Accident – Causing Bodily Harm 
  • Dangerous Operation – Causing Bodily Harm
  • Refusal to Comply with Demand – Causing Bodily Harm
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine 
  • Possession Property obtained by Crime over $5,000
  • Possession Property obtained by Crime under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Operation while Prohibited – Legal Restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law (seven counts)
  • Driving while Under Suspension

It was found that the motor vehicle DUQUETTE was driving, was listed as stolen out of a neighbouring jurisdiction and has since been recovered.

As a result of the collision, two drivers sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger was taken to a local hospital with major non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

26 Year Old Charged Following Rollover

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – Motor vehicle attempting to pass others on road, loses control and rolls into ditch, resulting in charges.

On August 12, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside local emergency services, responded to a report of a rollover off Wellington Road 26, within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Upon arrival, a motor vehicle was observed in a ditch, with all occupants safely outside. It was alleged that the driver had been attempting to pass other motor vehicles in an unsafe manner when they lost control and veered off the roadway, resulting in a rollover and minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old of Fergus is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Careless driving
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

No other nearby motor vehicles on the roadway were damaged.

Collision On 86 Sends 5 To Hospital

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with local emergency services attended the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 86, just outside of Ariss.

On July 1, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a serious head-on collision involving two motor vehicles, resulting in Wellington Road 86 being closed between Eighth Line East and Sideroad 16, within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the collision, five individuals were transported to hospital, including a 16-year-old passenger who sustained life-altering injuries; All drivers and passengers involved suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Wellington Road 86 will remain closed between Eighth Line East and Sideroad 16, pending the current investigation. Reopening is currently unknown at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing. Information will be provided when available.

37 Year Old From Kincardine Arrested – Assault With Weapon

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – Kincardine resident faces four criminal charges in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation. 

On June 27, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old of Kincardine is charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon – spousal (two counts)
  • Assault – spousal
  • Mischief – domestic

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).

20 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen vehicle and arresting the suspect shortly thereafter and recovering the stolen vehicle.

 On June 28, 2025, at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were made aware of a stolen vehicle within Wellington County, which was initially originating from a neighbouring jurisdiction. The victim was able to advise where their stolen vehicle was due to a GPS (Global Positioning System) / Bluetooth tracking device that they had left in the vehicle.

Due to this system, officers were able to attend the pin-point location and search the area for the stolen vehicle.

As a result of the investigation and swift actions by uniform members of the OPP, Rodney LAROCHE, a 20-year-old from Montreal, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000- in Canada
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (two counts)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The stolen vehicle was recovered.

Robert Andrew HAMILTON – Impaired Driving

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – On June 7, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Harris Street and Sammon Drive, in Rockwood.

It was reported that a pickup truck had collided with a parked vehicle and then left the scene. Police located the driver and damaged pickup truck nearby. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Robert Andrew HAMILTON, 67-years-old of the Township of Guelph-Eramosa, was charged with:

– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

– Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on June 17, 2025.
