North Huron Repeat Offender Arrested & Released A Month Ago – Huron OPP Detachment Under Scrutiny

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Huron resident with several criminal offences following a report of a dispute in the Town of Goderich.

On Monday, January 26, 2026, Huron County OPP officers responded to a dispute on South Street in Goderich. Officers attended the location and spoke to an individual who was subsequently arrested. A search of the accused revealed stolen property.

Charges were laid as follows:

Michael DALE, 35 years-of-age from North Huron has been charged with:

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000,

–      Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000,

–      Theft of Credit Card,

–      Possession of Identity Document – (five counts),

–      Breach of Recognizance,

–      Causing a Disturbance.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing and later released from custody with a future court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Goderich Kidnapping & Sexual Assault – Donald CARRICK Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit investigated a report of a sexual assault in the Town of Goderich in November 2025.

Over the course of the police investigation, the suspected was identified, arrested on February 05, 2026, and charged with the following offences:

Donald CARRICK, 62 years-of-age from Goderich has been charged with:

–      Kidnapping,

–      Sexual Assault.

The accused was processed at the Huron OPP detachment, held for a bail hearing, and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 09, 2026.

22 Year Old From Morris-Turnberry Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – On Wednesday, January 07, 2026, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed an assault on a staff member at the Goderich Hospital.

The suspect was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Caleb HOLTZHAUER, 22 years-of-age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with:

–      Assault.

Officer Assaulted – Suspect Released #BrokenSystem

(GODERICH, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident in the Town of Goderich.

On Sunday, December 28, 2025, just before 5:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about a dispute where an individual reportedly damaged property at an address on Lighthouse Street in Goderich. While investigating the mischief, the suspect threw liquid on an OPP officer. The accused was arrested and charged as follows:

Terrence HIGGS, 32 years-of-age of Goderich was charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Assault a Peace Officer.

Repeat Offender Arrested For Arson – Edward LABRECHE

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place in the Town of Goderich on December 12, 2025.   

On Friday, December 12, 2025, police were contacted to investigate an arson caught on video surveillance in the early morning hours outside a business on Bayfield Road in Goderich. The video showed one individual lighting a cardboard box on fire while another individual exits the box, narrowly escaping injury.

Police attended the scene and arrested the person responsible nearby, and they were charged as follows:

Edward LABRECHE, 29 years-of-age of no fixed address has been charged with:

–      Arson – Disregard for Human Life,

–      Mischief Endangering Life,

–      Assault with a Weapon,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation.

Repeat Offender Amber COLEMAN Arrested Again #3Strikes

(HURON EAST, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident in the Town of Seaforth, Municipality of Huron East on December 07, 2025.

On Sunday, December 07, 2025, just after 3:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about an individual who was reportedly walking in Seaforth swinging a knife. Police located the suspect, who proceeded to confront the officers with a knife. Officers used a conducted energy weapon (CEW) to safely control the suspect, who was taken into custody and charged as follows:

Amber COLEMAN, 33 years-of-age of Goderich has been charged with:

–      Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon,

–      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,

–      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – (six counts),

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (six counts),

–      Fail to Comply with Release Order.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody. The accused has a later court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

25 Year Old From Central Huron Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with an impaired driving offence following a traffic stop on November 28, 2025, in the Town of Goderich. 

Just before 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle on Huron Road in Goderich. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation.

The accused provided breath samples before a qualified OPP Intoxilyzer Breath Technician at the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton. Breath samples provided to police resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Rae MELVIN, 25 years-of-age from Central Huron has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 06, 2026.

Police Cruiser Damaged In Goderich Incident – Trevor STRUTH Arrested Again #3Strikes

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, just before 2:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about an individual who was reportedly causing a disturbance at a retail business property on Huron Road in Goderich. Police located the suspect, who proceeded to hit a police cruiser with a hockey stick, then flee on a bicycle. The accused was later located, arrested, and charged as follows:

Trevor STRUTH, 48 years-of-age of no fixed address was charged with:

–      Causing a Disturbance,

–      Assault a Peace Officer,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (three counts).

60 Year Old From ACW Arrested – Name Released

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township resident with an impaired driving offence following a traffic stop on November 15, 2025, in the Town of Goderich. 

Just after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle on Wolfe Street in Goderich. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation.

Repeat Offender Arrested On Remembrance Day In Goderich

(GODERICH, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident in the Town of Goderich on November 11, 2025.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, just before 10:00 a.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about an individual who was reportedly causing a disturbance and kicking over Remembrance Day wreaths as organizers were setting up displays for the event being held on the Goderich Square. Police located the suspect, who proceeded to resist arrest. The accused was eventually taken into custody and charged as follows:

Deseree VOISIN, 27 years-of-age of Huron East was charged with:

–      Resist Peace Officer,

–      Assault,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (two counts).

A 16-year-old young person from Central Huron has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm – Spousal,

–      Mischief.

The identity of the accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
