Vivek Malhotra Was Arrested

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving a traffic complaint.

On Wednesday October 01, 2025 at approximately 02:02 am, officers were notified of a traffic complainant for a vehicle stopped in a live lane of traffic in Woodville. Officers located the motor vehicle on King Street and began an impaired driving investigation. The driver was charged with 5 charges including Criminal Code of Canada offences.

Vivek Malhotra, 45-year-old of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
  • Driver Fail to Surrender Licence
  • Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
  • Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Police Investigating Mysterious Death – Don’t Panic

(BOBCAYGEON, ON) – The City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a death in Bobcaygeon.

Officers were called to a local park on Mansfield Street, Bobcaygeon, shortly before 9:18 p.m., on Saturday, September 27, 2025, where one person was located deceased.

While the cause of death cannot yet be confirmed, investigators believe there is no imminent threat to public safety, although the OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

The investigation is in its early stages, and no further details can be released at this time. Residents of the area should expect to see an increased police presence.

Katlyn Pearce Facing Numerous Charges

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving a traffic complaint.

On Thursday September 25, 2025 at approximately 10:11 pm, officers were notified of a possible impaired driver from a concerned citizen. Officers located the motor vehicle and began an impaired driving investigation. The driver was charged with Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, Liquor License Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences.

Katlyn Pearce, 37-year-old of Fenelon Falls, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor
  • Fail to Notify of Change of Address
  • Fail to Surrender Insurance Card

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

OPP Seize Fentanyl, Cocaine, Hydromorphone in Kawartha Lakes Investigation

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Beginning in May 2025, members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) entered into a CDSA investigation into a male believed to be trafficking drugs into the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton Highlands areas. 

In September 2025, s.11 CDSA search warrants were authorized for the accused’s residence. On September 22, 2025, the search warrants were executed and as a result, the following items were seized:

·        79.5 8mg Hydromorphone pills

·        53g suspected cocaine

·        312.3g suspected fentanyl

·        $2710 CAD cash

·        $13 USD cash

·        Two digital scales

·        Two cellphones

·        Dimebags

·        1 40cal S&W bullet with “Hailey” written on it

·        Replica 12g Shotgun

Caleb JOHNSTON 27 year-old of Courtice was held for a show cause hearing and charged with:

·        CDSA 5(2) – Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·        CDSA 5(2) -Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl

·        CDSA 5(2) -Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Hydromorphone

·        CC 354(1)(a) -Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

·        CC 145(4)(a) – Failure to comply with Undertaking

·        CC 117.01(1) – Possess Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

Ryan Blundell, Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation during a collision investigation.

On Saturday September 20, 2025 at approximately 02:10 am, officers on general patrol located a motor vehicle in the ditch on Highway 7 near Slanted Road. Officers on scene officers began an impaired driving investigation. The driver was charged with Criminal Code offences.

Ronda Bazley – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation during a collision investigation.

On Saturday September 20, 2025 at approximately 11:55 pm, officers responding to a call for service for a single vehicle collision. Officers were dispatched to Salem Road in Mariposa Township for a single vehicle collision, while on scene officers began an impaired driving investigation. The driver was charged with Criminal Code offences

Ronda Bazley, 41-year-old of Sunderland, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

Weapons Incident Puts Secondary School In “Hold & Secure”

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), placed Fenelon Falls Secondary School in a hold and secure following an emergency call for service.  

On Tuesday September 16, 2025 at approximately 9:38 am, City of Kawartha Lakes OPP received a call for service regarding a group of teenagers walking towards Fenelon Falls Secondary School one carrying what was believed to be a pipe bomb or large firework. Officers responded and quickly located the person in question. Fenelon Falls Secondary School was in a hold and secure for just under 15 minutes. The youth cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) but was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Public Mischief

The accused was released and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date.

Joshua Campbell Was Arrested Again

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance from ROPE (OPP Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement) located a male wanted on multiple warrants and brought him into custody. 

On Wednesday September 10, 2025 the ROPE team located and arrested an accused in Toronto, who was wanted on multiple warrants out of the City of Kawartha Lakes. The charges stem from incidents in the spring and summer of 2025. Substances believed to be drugs were seized during the arrest.

Joshua Campbell, 37-year-old of Lindsay, was charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Fail to Attend Court While on Release Order
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2
  • Adult Unlawfully at Large

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

John Bolender Facing Numerous Charges

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following a traffic stop involving a vehicle towing a trailer.

On September 4th 2025, an officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle speeding in a community safety zone. During the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle’s licence plate did not match the vehicle, and the attached trailer had been reported stolen. Further checks revealed that the driver was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.

As a result, John Bolender, 70 years old, of Stouffville, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

–      Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

–      Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

–      No insurance

–      Driving while under suspension

–      Speeding in a community safety zone

–      Plate not authorized for vehicle

–      Fail to display two plates

–      No currently validated permit

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Jordan Peters – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving a call for service regarding a disturbance near County Road 30 in Verulam.

On Sunday August 31, 2025 at approximately 9:10 pm, officers were dispatched to a fight in progress, while enroute they were notified of the parties departing the residence. A pick-up truck was located on County Road 30 and a traffic stop occurred after the pick up truck turned onto County Road 8. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences.

Jordan Peters, 33-year-old of Trent Lakes, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drug
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
  • Drive Motor Vehicle No Licence

On Monday September 01, 2025 at approximately 6:42 pm, officers responding to a call for service located a pick up truck on Woodville Road. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, and Cannabis Control Act.

Tyler Stuart, 35-year-old of Eldon Township, was charged with:

  • Operator a Motor Vehicle without Insurance
  • Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle
  • Operate Unsafe Vehicle

20 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation while investigating a collision.

On Sunday August 31, 2025 at approximately 01:51 am, officers were notified of a collision in a trailer park on Tracey’s Hill Road where the driver was believed to be impaired. The reported collision took place with a golf cart which collided into a shed. A golf cart is a conveyance and carries the same impaired driving charges under the Criminal Code as other conveyances such as motor vehicles (cars, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles), vessels (boats, canoes), aircraft, which are just some examples. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences.

Justin Ramdihal, 20-year-old of Georgina, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drug
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

Carter Prosser Was Arrested – Details Released

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation while in Woodville for an unrelated event.

On Wednesday August 13, 2025 at approximately 6:27 pm, officers observed the driver of a motor vehicle on Agnes Street and entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was arrested and charged with a Criminal Code offence.

Carter Prosser, 29-year-old of Woodville, was charged with:

Allison Murray Arrested Following Hit & Run

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation while investigating a single vehicle collision, fail to remain.

On Wednesday August 13, 2025 at approximately 6:53 pm, officers were notified of a motor vehicle driving through the road closure barricade on Bury’s Green Road which was closed for a fire. Officers located the vehicle and driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver sustained minor injuries from the collision. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences.

Allison Murray, 43-year-old of Irondale, was charged with:

  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  • Careless Driving
  • Fail to Report Accident
  • Fail to Remain

Rino Minaudo – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation while investigating a single vehicle collision.

On Sunday August 10, 2025 at approximately 11:40 pm, officers were notified of a single vehicle collision on Little Britain Road. Upon arriving on scene officers entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Cannabis Control Act offences.

Rino Minaudo, 27-year-old of Markham, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
  • Have Care or Control of Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
