Brockton Bust – 117g Fentanyl Seized In Walkerton #WaitInTheTruck

(BROCKTON, ON) – On September 25, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Brockton.

Investigation determined that a physical altercation took place between two individuals in a wooded area off of South Street in Walkerton. The accused fled on foot but was taken into custody nearby. A search of the individual led to the discovery of approximately 117g of suspected fentanyl.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old of no fixed address has been charged with:

  • Assault, CC 266
  • Assault with a weapon, CC 267(a)
  • Assault cause bodily harm – choking, CC 267(c)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 5(2)

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

21-Year-Old From Brockton Arrested – Details Released, Not Him #3Strikes #OPP #Crime

(BROCKTON, ON) – On September 24, 2025, at approximately 4:54 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver on Bruce Road 1, south of Paisley.

Police located the vehicle and identified the driver, who then fled from the traffic stop at a high rate of speed. Police continued to receive additional driving complaints about this vehicle throughout the area, driving at high speeds and into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was later located the vehicle at a residence along Bruce Road 1 where an arrest was made.

Brett HAGAN, 21-years-old, resident of Brockton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)
  • Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Flight from peace officer, CC 320.17 – two counts
  • Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1)
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available, LLCA 42(1)(b)

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

From Saugeen to Soggy: Popped Raft Sparks River Rescue #FloatieFail

(BROCKTON, ON) – On September 21, 2025, at approximately 8:42 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a person stranded along the Saugeen River after their inflatable raft had punctured.

After approximately an hour into the search, officers located the individual. The Hanover Fire Department attended with a rescue vessel in order to bring them to shore, uninjured.

While inflatable watercrafts are a fun activity for the swimming pool, you put yourself at risk when attempting to take them down the Saugeen River or out on Lake Huron.

Hanover Resident Charged Following Hit & Run

(BROCKTON, ON) – On September 12, 2025, at approximately 3:14 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a collision involving a box truck on Concession 12 between Bruce Road 19 and Sideroad 5 Brant.

Police learned that the collision had taken place hours earlier, and the vehicle involved was no longer on scene. The investigating officer attended the collision scene to observe extensive damage to a bridge and alerted the Municipality of Brockton; the bridge is closed for an unknown extent of time.

A 48-year-old resident of Hanover has been charged with:

  • Fail to remain, HTA 200(1)(a)

21 Year Old Arrested After Pedestrian Incident

(BROCKTON, ON) – On March 7, 2025, at approximately 7:50 a.m., the South Bruce and Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with the Arran-Elderslie Fire Department, and Bruce County Paramedic Services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on the Grey Bruce Line between Concession 2 and Concession 4, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

A 28-year-old pedestrian from Aurora was transported to a trauma centre with life threatening injuries.

After a thorough investigation by the South Bruce OPP, West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team, with assistance from the Ministry of Labour, a 21-year-old resident of Owen Sound has been charged with:

  • Careless driving causing bodily harm, HTA 130(3)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Provincial Offences Court on October 7, 2025, to answer to the charge.

(BROCKTON, ON) – On September 14, 2025, at approximately 7:47 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle fire on B Line south of Highway 21, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Investigation revealed that a blue pick-up truck was involved in a collision and became engulfed in flames. The occupant of the truck fled into the bush, them reemerged to steal another truck of a nearby resident who stopped to assist. The stolen vehicle was last observed travelling northbound at a high rate of speed by a shirtless male with possible burn wounds.

Police are searching for the following outstanding vehicle:

  • Black 2002 GMC Sierra bearing Ontario marker # CA25996 – bright silver hood, tonneau cover

Threats In Walkerton Leads To Arrest – Details Released

(BROCKTON, ON) – On August 20, 2025, at approximately 1:28 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a threatening phone call made to a financial institution in Walkerton, Municipality of Brockton.

Officers attended the financial institution and confirmed the well being of employees inside. Investigation revealed that an individual contacted the location and is alleged to have made threats to harm employees on site.

As a result, a 42-year-old resident of Arran-Elderslie was charged with:

  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, CC 264.1(1)(a)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Shane CRUICKSHANK Was Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On August 3, 2025, at approximately 8:04 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Bruce Road 10 outside of Elmwood, Municipality of Brockton.

While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Shane CRUICKSHANK, 39-years-old, of the Municipality of Kincardine, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear on September 10, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

Teens Wreck Chepstow Ball Diamonds – Name Released

(BROCKTON, ON) – On July 12, 2025, at approximately 8:31 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of overnight damages to the ball diamonds in Chepstow, Municipality of Brockton.

Police attended and discovered that a pick-up truck and an Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) had attended the ball diamonds the previous evening, drove through the grass and spun tires causing damages to the area.

As a result of the investigation, two individuals face charges:

Cory HARRON, 18-years-old, resident of Brockton was charged with:

  • Mischief – destroys or damages property, CC 430(1)(a)

A 17-year-old resident of Brockton was charged with:

  • Mischief – destroys or damages property, CC 430(1)(a)
  • Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Obstruct peace officer, CC 129(a)

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

The accused are set to appear on September 3, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

28 Year Old From South Bruce Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On July 11, 2025, at approximately 1:03 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Yonge Street South at Highway 9, Municipality of Brockton.

Police attended and discovered that a vehicle had struck a light standard. The driver was transported to local hospital with minor injuries. The investigating officer attended the hospital and detected signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, Leobardo SANCHEZ SANCHEZ, 28-years-old, of the Municipality of South Bruce, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear on August 24, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

Walkerton Hit & Run – Suspects At Large

(BROCKTON, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on scene investigating a fail to remain collision just west of Walkerton.

On July 16, 2025, at approximately 2:55 p.m., police received a report of a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Concession 2 and Sideroad 5 Greenock in the Municipality of Brockton. Two occupants from an involved vehicle fled the scene on foot. Police are searching for:

  • Two females, late 20’s / early 30’s, both with brown hair, carrying green reusable grocery bags

35 Year Old From Brockton Charged

(BROCKTON, ON) – On July 5, 2025, at approximately 5:08 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol along Sideroad 10 South in the Municipality of Brockton.

A vehicle was stopped after it was observed conducting what is commonly referred to as a ‘burnout’, and fishtailing along the roadway. The officer approached the vehicle and found that three young children were in the front passenger seat, none of which secured by car seats or seatbelts.

A 35-year-old resident of Brockton, was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt, HTA 172(1)
  • Drive while child passenger not properly secured, HTA 106(4)(b) – three counts

The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and the drivers licence was suspended for 30 days.

The accused is set to appear on August 5, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

Robert TEMPLETON Arrested At RIDE

(BROCKTON, ON) – On July 4, 2025, at approximately 1:20 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) along Durham Street East, Municipality of Brockton.

A vehicle entered the area where police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

22 Year Old Arrested In Brockton

(BROCKTON, ON) – On July 2, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious person at a business along McNab Street in Walkerton, Municipality of Brockton.

Police attended and learned that the individual was attempting to complete a driving test while using an identification that did not match their appearance; they were subsequently placed under arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Rajveer SINGH, 22-years-old, resident of Etobicoke, was charged with:

  • Personation with intent (identity fraud), CC 403(1)
  • Identity theft – possess another persons identity information, CC 402.2(1)
  • Forgery, CC 366(1)

22 Year Old From Hanover Charged Following Collision

(BROCKTON, ON) – On June 30, 2025, at approximately 10:39 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 9 and Bruce Road 3, Municipality of Brockton.

Officers attended the location with Brockton Fire & Emergency Services and Bruce County Paramedic Services. Police observed the intersection to be blocked by two vehicles. Occupants were treated for minor injuries on scene.

The roadway has since been cleared, a 22-year-old Hanover resident was charged with:

  • Red light – fail to stop, HTA 144(18)
