Repeat Offender Arrested For Drunk Driving

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On May 9, 2025, at approximately 12:16 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Bruce Road 10, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

The investigating officer determined that the driver was operating the vehicle in contradiction to licence status. The driver fled the area on foot but was placed under arrest shortly thereafter. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was transported for further testing.

Farouk SULEMANA, 33-years-old, of the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie was charged with:

  • Impaired Operation (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Resist peace officer, CC 129(a)
  • Obstruct peace officer, CC 129(a)
  • Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a)
  • Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1)
  • Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor, LLCA 42(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on June 4, 2025.

Robert EDIGHOFFER – Impaired Operation

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On April 18, 2025, at approximately 11:01 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Grey Bruce OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) along Bruce Road 10, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

A vehicle entered the area where police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

Robert EDIGHOFFER, 66-years-old, resident of Lions Head, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on May 28, 2025, to answer to the charge.

25 Year Old Arrested Again #WaitInTheTruck

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On March 29, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Investigation determined that a dispute between individuals led to an assault.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old individual from Cambridge has been charged with:

  • Assault, CC 266
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order, CC 733.1(1)
  • Fail to comply with Release Order, CC 145(5)(a) – four counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Ward HEMSTOCK – Drunk Driving

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 28, 2025, at approximately 12:36 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along 3rd Street SW, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Ward HEMSTOCK, 63-years-old, of Arran-Elderslie, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)

SEIP Was Arrested Again – Details Released

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 19, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault that took place along 1st Avenue South in Chesley. 

On February 21, 2025, the South Bruce OPP were able to arrest one individual in relation to this matter, with the assistance of the OPP’s West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT).

As a result of the investigation, Derek SEIP, 30-years-old of Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:

·      Assault, CC 266

·      Assault with a weapon, CC 267(a)

·      Carrying concealed weapon, CC 90

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order, CC 733.1(1)

·      Trespassing at night, CC 177

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Patrick FLETCHER Was Arrested – Details Released

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 13, 2025, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a disturbance at an address along 1st Avenue South in Chesley. 

While police were on scene, an individual became assaultive with officers. They were subsequently placed under arrest. No injuries were sustained by police or the accused.

As a result of the investigation, Patrick FLETCHER, 35-years-old from Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:

  • Assault police, CC 270(1)(a)
  • Obstruct peace officer, CC 129(1)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on March 26, 2025 to answer to the charges.

Kincardine Drunk Driver Arrested

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 7, 2025, at approximately 12:36 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol along 1st Avenue in Chesley. The Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) equipment in the cruiser alerted the officer to a licence plate that had previously been reported as stolen.

The investigating officer initiated a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle and spoke to the driver, discovering additional offences.

As a result of the investigation, Brian LLOYD, 58-years-old from the Municipality of Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime, CC 354(1)(a)
  • Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1)
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice, on March 12, 2025.

Victim Out $35,000

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 4, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, where an individual reported being victim of a fraud.

Investigation revealed that over the course of a year, the victim made a series of transactions amounting to approximately $35,000 through a cryptocurrency investment company. The victim stumbled upon this investment company through an online advertisement, where they later conversed with an individual on numerous occasions to facilitate the transactions. Once the victim became suspicious of the legitimacy of this company and declined sending additional funds, they were locked out of their account.

The investigation has been passed over to the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit.

South Bruce OPP Arrest One From Owen Sound

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On December 29, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on 1st Avenue North, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped and checked by police. 

As a result of the investigation, Cody ELDER, 35-years-old from Owen Sound, has been charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited, CC 320.18(1)(a)

The involved vehicle has been impounded for 45 days.

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on February 12, 2025.
