Impaired Driver Arrested In Mitchell

 (WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another impaired driver in the Municipality of West Perth.

On April 27, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle that was driving in a suspicious manner, and even stopped partially blocking a live lane of traffic, twice.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on Victoria Street in Mitchell, and determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest, and transported to a local operations centre for further testing.

Issa DIALLO, 25, of Waterloo, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Drunk Driver From Mitchell Arrested

 (WEST PERTH, ON) – Another impaired driver has been arrested in Perth County.

On April 26, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program at the intersection of Perth Line 29 and Perth Road 150, in the Municipality of West Perth.

Police spoke to a driver, and determined that they had been consuming alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest, and transported to a local operations centre where further testing was administered.

Kyle FENWICK, 42, of Mitchell, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Firefighter Injured – 74 Year Old Driver Charged

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On April 21, 2022, at approximately 8:20 a.m., the North Perth Fire Department and the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residential fire on Havelock Avenue South, in the Municipality of North Perth.

While firefighters were getting in position, a vehicle drove over a charged fire hose resulting in the firefighter being injured. They were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Ronald SMITH, 74, of Listowel has been charged with:

–      Careless driving

The accused was issued a Provincial Notice for the offence.

72 Year Old Drunk Driver Passes Fully Marked Cruiser

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a prohibited driver for stunt driving while impaired – after they passed a fully marked police cruiser.

On April 26, 2022, just before 2:30 p.m. an officer initiated a traffic stop on Huron Road, in the Township of Perth East, after a vehicle had passed the officer at an excessive speed. The driver was found to be travelling in excess of 65km/hr over the speed limit.

During the investigation, the driver was showing signs of impairment and was arrested. They were transported to a local operations centre for further testing. The officer also learned the driver was prohibited from driving, and the licence plates attached to the vehicle were stolen.

Peter INDRILIUNAS, 72, of Southampton, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000

–      Operation while Prohibited Under the Criminal Code

–      Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 45-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Trevor WILLIAMS – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lucan resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) last week. 

On Thursday, April 21, 2022 at approximately 2:29 a.m. members from the Huron OPP Detachment responded to a report of a station wagon that was being operated in an erratic manner traveling northbound through Lucan.   

Shortly after a Huron OPP officer was able to intercept the suspect vehicle in Exeter and a traffic stop was conducted on Huron Street West. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As a result the driver completed a roadside screening test and registered a “Fail”.   

Consequently the driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit. 

Trevor WILLIAMS, 30 years of age from Lucan has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 30, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Thief Arrested In Listowel – Susane SFERRAZZA

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A suspect has been charged after stealing from a local business in the Municipality of North Perth.

On April 22, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a business on Mitchell Road South, in Listowel, after a person was witnessed shoplifting.

Susane SFERRAZZA, 44, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

NEWBIGGING – Drunk Driving, Drive While Suspended

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On April 24, 2022, just before 5:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Road 116 at Line 67, in the Township of Perth East. The lone occupant received minor injuries in the collision.

During the investigation, the driver was showing signs of impairment and was arrested.

Todd NEWBIGGING, 58, of Perth East, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

–      Driving while under suspension

135 in an 80 – Martin ANDREWS

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Milverton driver after they were speeding more than 50 km/hr over the limit in West Perth.

On April 23, 2022, just after 10:00p.m., a police officer was conducting speed enforcement on Perth Road 119, in the Township of Perth East. The officer stopped a vehicle after it was found to be travelling in excess speed of 135km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

Martin ANDREWS, 53, of Milverton, has been charged with:

–      Race motor vehicle – Excessive speed

A 30-day driving suspension and 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

50 Over Speed Limit – DORLEON

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A Kitchener resident has been charged with Stunt Driving following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) earlier this month. 

On April 7, 2022 at approximately 10:18 a.m. a Huron OPP officer was patrolling eastbound on Bruce Road 86 when he observed a westbound minivan travelling at a high rate of speed. A RADAR device was utilized to measure the speed of the vehicle speed and it was found to be travelling at a speed in excess of 50 km/h over the posted 80 km/h zone. 

Venantius DORLEON, 55 years of age from Kitchener has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform a Stunt. The defendant will now have to attend Provincial Offences Act court on May 24, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich to answer to the charge. 

An immediate 30-day drivers licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was also served on the driver.

CRUICKSHANK – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On April 15, 2022 at 2:50 a.m., a Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Highway 6 when they observed a motor vehicle enter the ditch.

Police spoke to the driver, and determined that they had been consuming alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest, and transported to a local OPP detachment where further testing was administered.  

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Mellville CRUICKSHANK, 72 years-of-age from South Bruce Peninsula with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

Drunk Driver Arrested Following Collision – WILDGEN

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a two-vehicle collision that took place this past weekend.

On Saturday, April 23, 2022 at approximately 9:18 p.m. Huron OPP officers responded to Brucefield to investigate a two-vehicle collision that occurred on London Road (Highway 4) at Mill Road. The subsequent investigation revealed the accused was northbound on London Road when his vehicle collided with the rear of another vehicle that was also travelling northbound. 

Upon speaking with the accused the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As a result a roadside screening test was utilized and the driver registered a “Fail”.  

Consequently the driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit. 

Reamonn WILDGEN, 28 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 6, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Bradley DOHERTY – Identity Fraud, Drive While Prohibited

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On April 16, 2022 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was stationary on Highway 6, when they observed an individual known to be a prohibited driver operating a motor vehicle.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. The driver provided false identification and was subsequently placed under arrest after their identity was confirmed.  

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Bradley DOHERTY, 37 years-of-age from Owen Sound with the following offences:

·        Operation while prohibited under the criminal code

·        Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice (identity fraud)

The accused was released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

20 Year Old From Goderich Has Vehicle Impounded

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with Drive a Motor Vehicle – Perform a Stunt following a traffic stop conducted last week. 

On Thursday, April 21, 2022 at approximately 4:25 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was conducting RADAR patrols on Airport Line when he observed a sport utility vehicle travelling southbound at a high rate of speed. A speed measurement was taken and the vehicle was found to be travelling at a speed in excess of 50 km/h over the posted 80 km/h zone. 

As a result, the driver Kayla MERIAM, 20 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform a Stunt – Speeding by 50 km/h or more. The defendant will now have to attend Provincial Offences Act Court on June 7, 2022 in Goderich to answer to the charge. 

An immediate 30-day drivers licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was also served on the driver.

4 Arrested After Howick Crime Spree

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – The Perth County and Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested four people after a reported theft and failure to stop for police.

On April 21, 2022, just before 4:00 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on general patrol on Perth Road 164, in the Municipality of West Perth, located a suspicious vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle fled when the officer attempted to stop it.

Just before 8:00 a.m., Huron County OPP received a report of a theft that took place during the early morning hours. Multiple parked vehicles located at a business on Queen Street in the Township of Howick were broken into. Multiple windows were smashed and multiple tools taken, totalling a loss of approximately $26,000.

Officers then located the suspect vehicle after it became stuck in a field off Road 170, in the Municipality of West Perth. The four suspects were seen fleeing from the vehicle.

Calls from the public about suspicious activity aided officers, and with the assistance of the OPP Canine and West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), the four suspects were located and arrested.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, four people have been arrested and charged.

Tyler PARDAENS, 36, of London, has been charged with:

–      Theft Over $5,000

–      Mischief Under $5,000

–      Possession of break-in instruments

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

–      Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methamphetamine

Scott DICKERT, 35, of London, has been charged with:

–      Theft Over $5,000

–      Mischief Under $5,000

–      Possession of break-in instruments

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Erik POST, 32, of London, has been charged with:

–      Theft Over $5,000

–      Mischief Under $5,000

–      Possession of break-in instruments

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Garrett FORGRAVE, 41, of London, has been charged with:

–      Theft Over $5,000

–      Mischief Under $5,000

–      Possession of break-in instruments

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

–      Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

Three of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Garrett FORGRAVE was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
